Air Bag Light On Problems of Cadillac Deville

Car will not start when I turn the key checked the fuses all good check the battery good. Then it started next day drove home from work and power turned off in the middle of the street power steering started to lock as I managed to pull off in to a parking lot. Started once again, made it home. Next day was able to stard vehicle drove to work, once it was time for me to head home tried starting car and nothing nothing I can open trunk with key fob can't open gas tank door from inside manually. My car is saying air bag light constantly. Also I have a consistent squeak ing/grinding on the front driver wheel.

I took my 2003 cad. Deville to vince webb cad dealer in pensacola FL. Oct. 25th to get the keys fixed and the air bags fixed. I took with me NHTSA recall number 2002-08-14. The service writer insisted that there is no recall on this car. I then called gm customer service and got the same the same thing. Now I'd like to know witch one is right, your recall number (2002-08-14 or 03v051000)? or vince webb no? the light that indicates air bag came on about two weeks ago and I feel that there is a safety issue here and the dealer said they will fix it for $90 dollers, but I feel that if they check the recall it might be what the check air bag light is trying to tell me.

Consumer states that while driving at any speed the air bag light comes on and the air bag could be inoperative in the event of a vehicle accident. Dealer notified. Ts.

Air bag light stays ilumminated, the fvehicle was taken to the daealer who order a new air bag module, the vehicle has been out of service for 56 days because the module has not arrived at the dealer a d the consumer is afraid to drive the vehicle.

First problem was the battery short on 5-26-99, then on 6-15-99 air bag light came on, stating to service air bag. Vehicle was taken to dealer and I was advised that there was no problem with airbag system. On 7-7-99, air bag light came on again. Vehicle taken to dealer and again advised that nothing was wrong,l just a faulty light. They also stated that the air bag would never deloy unlesss there was an accident. On 7-29-00 while stopped at a red light. Airbag service light came on, and air bagsdeloyed immediately on drivers side door. Vehicle taken to dealer and left for 27 days. GMC stated this has never happened to another vehicle. As I can see they lied to me, it has happened. I have a lawsuit pending with them since 11-29-99 requesting they buy back my vehicle. Nothing has been heard from since. On 11-1-99 fuel gauge sensor went out and had to be replaced. All these problems started with a battery short on 5-26-99 and the computer has a mind of its own. Please note: the air bag has only deployed once. However, I had two previous warnings.

Upon starting vehicle by placing the key in the ignition, passenger's side door mounted air bag deployed without any cause. Also, a week following the air bag deploying, air bag indicator light was flashing on the dashboard. Consumer has contacted the dealer, dealer has disconnected the passenger's side mounted air bag. Manufacturer contacted. Repairs made.

The air bag warining light came on and would not go off. Air bag light did go off after vehicle was brought in to dealership. On 1/26/96 light came on again at that time the right air bag coil was replaced and the wiring in the steering column was also replaced.

Problems with cruise control and air bag light. The cruise control light on the steering wheel remained lit, often for several days. The air bag light illuminates intermittently but the dealer indicated that nothing could be done unless the light was on when the vehicle was bought to the dealer. The power steering pump has been replaced, the engine block cracked. The driver's seat failed.

Intermittently instrument panel malfunctioned. Consumer could not duplicate the fuel level, and could not indicate in what gear the vehicle was in. Also, air bag light/battery light/service air bag indicator, and service tire indicator illuminated. The dealer had not been able to duplicate or determine the cause of the problem.
