Front Air Bag Sensor Control Problems of Cadillac Deville

Takata recall. One day was driving all was well it had just sprinkled before IA left home. Roads were whet I slowed down to cross rr tracks when increased gas tires slipped or spun a lil,from bumps on tracks and acceleration made numerous sensors I think got faulty. Suspension traction, service engine soon,, abs, and air bag. I reset information control center. But with in 3 mins after you take off they all light up again abs I just changed brake pads 4 months ago there still under warranty. Going with ceramic this time. I also have 2 psi sensors out. Neither back window goes down one needs motor the other on the regulator a plastic clip that keeps it inline is worn out. I figured that out. But idk why all them safety warnings came on and why I cannot get traction control to ever go off? just find it weird happened all at once car still starts and runs fine. I'm just worried I think air bag needs to be recharged or inspected. My plan is to restore it needs minor repairs but dealerships is a rip off. If I can find where these electrical sensors are I will do it my self. They ridiculously over charge for everything. I was crossing rail road tracts at a slight angle. Cause unknown.

There was a recall on the airbag sensor of my vehicle in 2000. I was not aware of @ that time because I had not purchased it from the local dealership yet. On Feb. 16,2015 I called the 1800. 458. 8006 & was told that I would have to pay to have the part diagnosed & fixed if needed. The rep. & I went back & forth as to who should pay for this etc. ,. I called again on 2-19-2015 spoke with another rep. Still got the same answer. Basically I was told that the recall was closed out in 2001. When I asked both reps. That I spoke with if that meant there was a expiration date, I was told no. There were other questions that I asked in reference to the matter that does not add up between each rep. & the local cadilac technician that the first rep. Connected me with. I need help in solving this problem. The case # 71-1431796328. There are other factors I documented if needed.

I own a 1997 Cadillac Deville. My air bag sensor has been coming on and going off on my instrument panel for the last few months. I have had the car checked several times and I was told the sensor was defective. This is for the air bag on the driver's side door. Today 2/24/12 the air bag deployed as I was about to back out of my drive way. My current mileage is 94,000 miles. I am also having troubles with having to press my brakes almost to the floor for the car to stop.

The contact owns a 1997 Cadillac Deville. For the past two weeks, the air bag light illuminates on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized general motors dealer and they stated that there were no recalls. The dealer performed a diagnostic, which indicated that there was a defect in the side sensor control module. The dealer stated that nothing could be done at this time; however, they referred him to NHTSA to file a complaint. The failure and current mileages were 92,000. Updated 02-21-08.

Air bag warning light comes on. I find that my vehicle has a VIN in the middle of those for which Cadillac has issued a recall fix, but for some reason my vehicle is not eligible. I bought my car used, and it was covered by warranty. . . Why isn't it eligible for recall fixes to safety related items?.

My wife had an accident a few years ago and the air bags did not deploy. We were told that the air bag did not deploy because it was not a direct frontal collision. Recently we had to take our car to the dealership because the check engine light stayed on. Also every once and a while the air bag light would bleak and go off. It ended up being the electronic control module $446. 00 to repair. The dealership stated that this needed to be repaired right a way because the air bags would not deploy. If it was not for the check engine light staying on we could have had an accident not knowing that there was a defect with the restraint system.

- the contact stated that on 08/26/05 he took the vehicle to a dealership because the air bag light kept going on and off. The contact stated that the dealership repaired loose wires under seat. On 11/18/05 the air bag light started going on and off again. The contact took vehicle to dealership again ,and they repaired the same wiring. The contact stated that again in 12/05 the dealership serviced the air bag circuit, and found an open circuit to the harness. Also, the dealership had to remove and replace driver seat side inflater module to replace the wiring harness. The contact stated that hewas now waiting for the vehicle to be repaired again this time for the air bag on the driver side door. The dealership stated that the module needed to be replaced again. The contact stated that thiswas a continuing failure with the air bags . The steering was noisy. The steering actuator was replaced. Updated 01/29/07.

Recall 00 v 217 000/ air bag side impact sensor module: unable to get dealer michael hohl GMC; carson city, nv; phone# 775/883-5777 to honor manufacturer's recall. Dealer was contacted on several occasions, and still was unable to get recall resolved . Seeking help from NHTSA in this matter.

Suspension feels loose-found:left front strut leaking,strut mount loose ,link loose and noisy. Replaced left front strut,strut mount and stabilizer link. Realined front wheels. Also,because air bag light on intermittently replaced passenger side impact sensor module due to a short. Dealer support was excellent and appreciated.
