"takata recall" my 2004 Cadillac Deville VIN# 1g6kd54y34u152334. I was getting into my stationary vehicle at around 11:30pm. I was located in lynnfield, MA when the event occurred. The second I turned the engine over and hit the brake the driver side air bag deployed without any outside catalysts being a factor. I was abruptly hit by the driver side air bag right in my nose and mouth causing my neck to snap back. I was still in the driveway when my friend who was in his car parked in front of me heard the noise from the air bag and came to my aid.

Was involved in a front end crash going 48mph and the drivers side air bag or any other air did not deploy. There was so much damage to the front end that the car was totaled a complete loss. I would like car to be inspected for faulty air bags and also front end for faulty equipment as did not hold up well with crash. This vehicle only had 78,000 miles and was in perfect condition prior to crash. I was told there was a recall on the airbags and with that much damage and speed they should of been deployed this is a major safety violation. I was driving east bound at 48 mph car in front slammed on brakes I tried to avoid them and went to the right but there was a pole and another truck so I pulled back to left and it the car in the rear. At no time did the air bags deploy I would like an investigation started prior to car being totaled and removed by insurance company.

I was picking up my wife from her cardiac rehabilitation excerise program at the hospital. I pulled up to the door, shut the car off to assist my wife and put her rolator into the trunk. After placing the rolator into the trunk and ensuring my wife was safely within the vehicle I got into the vehicle and inserted the key into the ignition. Immediately the driver's side air bag deployed even though the vehicle did not contact anything in fact was not even moving nor in gear. The vehicle is currently at the dealer for analysis and repair.

While picking up my wife at the hospital, I removed the keys from the ignition and opened the truck put my wife's rolator in the truck and ensured she was safely in the vechile. I then went around to the driver's side and got into the vechile when I inserted the key into the ignition the driver's side air bag deployed. There was no collision nor even movement of the vechile when the air bay deployed. The vechile was towed to the dealer.

On may 3, 2010, my friend was driving my 2003 Deville, the side airbags deployed from the vehicle without a collision with another vehicle. They deployed on their own,smoke fill the vehicle, the force of the airbags push her so hard , then their was great pain coming from her left arm it started to swell then it bruised. The force of the bags knock the passenger window off track, and the driver mirror is damage. The vehicle was taken to one Cadillac dealer where we found that general motor had down sized taken the dealership. Next we took the car to crest Cadillac, they didn't know who to blame. The vehicle was left at dealer their overnight, little help their but only a bill. It has taken her since may to get some resolve with GMC. This Monday August 22,2010 they will send a investigator to look at the vehicle, this investigator will come from chicago, the car is in milwaukee wisconsin. He tells her it will take 7 to 8 hours to find a module and to upload pictures to GMC. She is a senior, when talking with the first GMC employees they were very rude, but that the way business is these days. She is under the doctor care, we want to know why did those side airbags deployed?.

The contact stated on 10-17-05 was driving when she heard a noise that sounded like a something scraped the bottom of the car. Immediately the driver's side and passenger's side air bags deployed. There were two people in the front seat of the car. No one was seriously injured. The dealer said there had been a problem in the past, but not the front. He also, said the sensors were probably bad. She did not recall an air bag light illuminating in the car prior to this incident.

Automobile ran a red light and collided with the driver's side of my car. Considerable damage was done to my car. The side air bags failed to deploy so I was thrown against the door with injury to my head, neck, shoulders, and lower back in the vicinity of my kidney.

Yesterday, Nov. 22, I had a front end collision which resulted in my car being totalled. At the moment of impact the air bag on the passenger side deployed and inflated, but the air bag on the driver's side deployed but did not inflate. The car was a 1999 Cadillac Deville sedan with 65,000 miles on it.

While stopping another vehicle hit the driver side of consumer's vehicle. The side air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries to the driver.

Vehicle was involved in a driver side impact collision. Upon impact, side air bags failed to deploy. Upon inspection of the vehicle by the insurance company they noticed that the side air was disconnected and duck taped. Prior to this incident vehicle was taken into a dealership to have the side impact sensor module recall 00v228000 repairs performed. Dealership never performed repairs, but indicated he did so.

While driving on the highway vehicle was impacted by another vehicle on the driver's side at a very high speed. The driver's side air bag deployed but didn't inflate. The driver was severely injured. A factory representative is currently investigating the cause of the none inflation of the side airbag.

Ltr re defective airbag in a 2002 Cadillac seville involved in an automobile accident on September 12, 2003. The consumer's vehicle was hit by another vehicle, the side air bags deployed, but they did not inflate.

The consumer was on the driveway of personal residence with all seat belts secured when both the driver/passenger side airbags deployed. There was a loud explosion. The engine shut down, there were no power features working, and the horn was blowing continuously. The dashboard was blown up from the force of the airbags and the front windshield was severely smashed from the force of the dashboard. The consumer was driving and his arms were burned from the airbag on the driver side, consumers his wife hit her head on the passenger side window. (consumers wife suffered from a temporary hearing loss in left ear, and neck pain/headaches).

Vehicle hydroplaned off wet highway into trees; driver killed upon inpact (left side & front) when neither front nor side air bags deployed, recall k00066-s/NHTSA campaign id 00v217000.

Received recall notice 00v217000 for side impact sensor module. Contacted dealership for an appointment. Recall was repaired, but problem still exists. Vehicle towed 4 times since recall repairs.

Vehicle was involved in a lateral collision, upon impact side air bags did not deploy. Consumer stated the sensor was recalled.

Front driver's side and passenger side airbags deployed while driving without prior warning. Dealer has been contacted. Please provide further details.

Received recall notice 00v217000 in September. Contacted dealership off/on since September. Each time was informed no parts available for side air bag sensor. Spoke to sharon collins at manufacturer, and informed would contact shipper about delivery, and then, would notify owner.

Consumer states air bag warning light came on, he immediately took vehicle in to be inspected and was advised by dealership there was nothing wrong, according to the service manager they reset an indicator to solve the problem, then on 04/13/01 while driving on expressway, the driver's side air bag deployed without warning, causing consumer to lose control of vehicle and swerve into another lane erratically, consumer is requesting that every air bag be re-certified or replaced and a complete safety inspection.

Recall 00v217000; consumer received recall letter last October, and has been in contact with dealer since then. Dealer kept telling consumer that parts were not available yet. Consumer has also contacted manufacturer, only to be told when his turn comes they would contact him. Side air bag sensor defective. Replacements still not available since received recall notice.

I struck a truck tire tread which slapped the door on the driver's side. There was slight damage to the sheet metal below the trim on the door. The side airbag deployed, striking me on the arm. I was surprised that the airbag had deployed with such small damage to the door. I reported the incident to the louisiana state police. Troop "b" out of new orleans filed the incident report. Driver side door air bag deployed by itself while driving. Incident nearly caused an accident and did cause hearing damage. It went off by itself !.

After starting vehicle, and backing out of a parking space passenger's side airbag deployed unexpectedly. Cadillac has been contacted.

When vehicle was involved in a crash, mainly being hit between the driver's and passenger's side door, by a tow truck traveling about 55 mph, air bag on the driver's side did not deploy. Vehicle and tow truck were totalled in the crash.

Pasenger side air bag deployed. Random deployment. No crash involved. Manufacturer will not divulge why this happened. Have attempted to gain information but refused by manufacturer. Concerned that a random deployment of driver side air bag at highway speed could cause accident.

Owner seated in passenger seat. Side air bag deployed owner suffered a deep arm bruise. Gm has been calling offering to refurnish/trade a new Deville.
