The dashboard is literally falling down in to your legs and feet. I had a large piece fall on my legs and feet while driving. I have never had any work done on the car where they have to remove the dashboard. There are pieces of black plastic that fall out of the dashboard area all the time. I have had to tape the light switches into place with duct tape. And the radio and a/c control area I have proped up with a shelf bracket to try and hold it in place. The vehicle was in motion on a county road when the large piece fell down.

In September of 2014, I received a recall from the state of massachusetts about (1) part that must be repaired in my 2003 Cadillac Deville sedan: (1) ignition switch 14v355000, the only recall showing up on the gm web-site is the ignition switch and the other three and the first are listed here totaling (4) recalls all together! after entering my make, model, year, and VIN, of my vehicle I received three more urgent recalls ! (2) fuel tank pressure sensor 03v238000, (3) driver air bag 03v051000, and the (4) air bag inflator 02v222000. During a recorded phone conversation an agent and a manager at/from (gm) general motors stated that they do no honor any recalls from safercar. Gov/NHTSA or any other web-site as they are "not valid" but their own @gm. Com. These are serious recalls that require immediate attention and validation by gm before they are sued for much more than simple repairs! I thank you for your time! blessings! on August 21, 2013, he paid $300 to replace a tie rod. On December 30, 3013, the tie rod broke again. He had to call aaa several times due to electrical failures, which caused the vehicle to stall. Updated 11/26/14.
My complaint is about the remedy for recall #14v355. The July 2, 2014 letter to nancy lewis re:NHTSA notification campaign no. 14v-355 from brian latouf, gm, states on page 3 that "the torque performance of the ignition system may be insufficient to resist energy generated when the vehicle goes off road or experiences some other jarring event". This is the same ignition switch that gm hid from the public for years which resulted in 196 claims for death, 116 catastrophic injuries and 1,460 other injuries. Instead of replacing the faulty ignition switch for the recall, your organization is allowing gm to block the key from being placed on a key ring with house keys, the remote fob that comes with the vehicle to operate door locks, seat positioning, trunk release and panic alarm. And the gm provided Cadillac medallion that is used to return the key to me if it becomes lost. Most people need to keep house keys on the car key ring, and the fob is integral to using the vehicle. The recall fix being allowed by your agency is dangerous and wrong. Subsequent owners of the vehicles will not know about the recall and pop the little piece of plastic out of the key hole and attach all of their keys on one key ring. For current owners, this takes away one of the functions of the vehicle, the fob usage and makes life more difficult having to keep track of a single car key and their key ring with esential keys on it. According to the washington post, gm knew about the defect and changed the ignition switch part in newer vehicles using the same part number to avoid a recall as people were injured and died. Gm's fix leaves my car with its defective ignition switch which is still subject to catistrophic failure. Who are you protecting? gm? not me and I am terrified. I want my ignition switch replaced with one that is properly designed and manufactured for the safe use of my vehicle.
