Anti-lock braking system is inoperative. Dealer has been contacted. Consumer stated brakes release under hard braking, when on loose surface such as sand or wet pavement.

When brakes were applied, pedal went to floor/speed approx. 15mph. /veh. In off position/pedal high/once ignition applied/pedal goes to floor/police report verified this as per att ached/caribbean auto mart did all servicing/complaints about brake problem ongoing and consistent.

Driver complains of loud air sound when brake is applied. Also, when parked applying the brake makes the same sound as well as affecting the rev of the engine.

While driving and applying the brakes abruptly the wheels locked up briefly and vehicle began to fish tail, the vehicle was taken to the dealer and taken for a test drive, while the service manager was driving the problem reoccured while braking, upon inspection the consumer was told that the brakes were working properly.

Total failure of the brake system occurred without warning. Pedal all the way to the floor with no stopping. Pumping the pedal repeatedly enabled me to finally stop. Parked it, had it towed home.

Electronic fron wheel drive intermittently engages while driving down the highway, locking the front wheels in a skid, while the selector switch is still in 2-wheel hi.

When brakes were applied pedal went to floor, resulting in extended stopping distance, causing a collision. Driver sustained minor injuries. A recall has been issued on vehicle's make and model; however, this vehicle was not included due to VIN. Manufacturer will be notified.

Intermittently when brakes are applied left wheel pulsates, and other wheels lock up. Dealer has been notified, and could not duplicate the problem. Feel free to provide any further information.

Applied brake at low speed of 10 mph or less and pedal became hard. This caused extended stopping distance. Vehicle been in a accident on one occasion. Brake pedal feels spongy, goes almost to floor when applying brakes. Dealer stated this was a trait of Blazer, and nothing was wrong with brakes, braking distance normal.

While driving about any mph stepped on the brake pedal to stop or reduce speed, but brakes would not work on dry or wet surface, causing extended stopping distance, and and resulting in an accident to consumer's wife.

Brakes routinely do not effectively stop. They "lock" give off a clicking sound, and the truck slides instead of stopping. It is my understanding that chevy Blazers "just do that. " the condition is unsafe and happens to me frequently not just on the date indicated or at the mileage reported. I have had the vehicle for 1 year now.

When consumer applies brakes pedal goes all the way down to the floor.

Consumer was traveling 30mph approximately three car links, and driver in front stopped suddenly. He slammed on brakes, and pedal went all the way down to the floor. Dealership was aware of problem.

Abs brakes lock up sporadically, with no warning. Can happen at any time brake pressure is applied. Brakes also have a high pitched squeal/squeek when braking to stop. The locking up problem is only occasionally, while the squealing/squeeking noise is there all the time.

Periodically when brake pedal was pressed brakes would hit floor without vehicle stopping. When brake pedal was relieved, vehicle would come to an automatic stop regardless of speed of vehicle. This problem has caused minor injuries to consumer. Dealer has not identified problem.

While driving 45 mph consumer heard gears grinding while putting on brakes. Pedal went to the floorboard without stopping.

When applying brakes at slow speed 20mph while driving over bump, brake pedal goes to floor. This has happened a few times, dealer could not find problem.

Recall 99 I 006 00 & 99 v 193 000/abs brakes. Vehicle experienced extended stopping distance when applying brakes. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that this vehicle was not covered under recalls due to VIN. Please provide any further details on this matter.

Brakes work sometimes and sometimes they don't. Only way consumer could stop would be to slam down on the brakes.

Traveling 63mph approaching slowing/stopping traffic from a distance. Gradually began slowing vehicle and applying increased brake pressure. Traffic then stopped, applied heavy pressure-both feet on pedal, hands braced on wheel and body thrust back in the seat. Brake pedal was soft and to the floor and vehicle did not stop. Abs did not work - no "chk, chk, chk" sound and no pulsating. Resulted in rear end collision. Noticed that an abs recall exists for model of vehicle manufactured in same month/year (NHTSA campaign id#: 99v193000) but was told by Chevrolet that this vehicle is not included because it is a 1997 model.

At any speed above 45 mph when depressing brakes consumer noticed vibration. Dealer has been contacted . Dealer ground front roters to correct problem.

When driving on dry pavement at 10-15 mph and upon depressing brake pedal to make a graudal stop while approaching the intersection to make right hand turn, pedal traveled to the floorboard, causing extended stopping distance, which resulted in an accident. Vehicle was just purchased three days ago.

Intermittently braking system malfunctioned, causing brake pedal to travel to floor, and resulting in extended stopping distance which could cause a crash. Dealer could not determine the cause of the problem. Problem still occurs intermittently.

Consumer was traveling 15mph on the highway, came to a stop sign and applied brakes, car wouldn't stop. Consumer had to pull the emergency brake in order to stop vehicle.

Windshield wipers works intermittently in rain, abs brakes not working properly on wet pavement; pedal goes to floor . Has been to dealer . There has been recalls on both problems, as per manufacturer. But, consumer's vehicle vehicle is not part of recalls.

Iintermittently when applying brakes pedal went to the floor. This happened during normal stopping. Problem was reported to the dealership. Dealership stated that problem was normal. Vehicle owned by massapequa water district.

Slowing to a stop with foot on brake, behind a small pickup truck which had a wall board extending out of rear of truck, had full pressure on brake pedal, and vehicle started to jump up and down. Had to hold foot on brake pedal and shift into park; engine speeded up, and was able to shut off engine. Consumer thought computer on brakes malfunctioned. However, dealer could not find anything wrong.

Problem with extended stopping distance; even as brakes were applied vehicle still continued to move before stopping. Believes this caused a collision. Asking help from NHTSA in this matter. Dealer been dragging out this problem long enough ,and somebody needs to do something.

While traveling on wet pavement, trying to make a stop, intermittently vehicle went into extended stopping distance. Dealer called consumer and stated that he called the manufacturer, and they stated that he did not have to do the work free of charge. Vehicle was not checked/ repaired because dealer insisted consumer was obligated to pay.

When applying brakes under normal braking conditions pedal dropped down to the floor and there was no pumping sensation, causing extended stopping distance. Vehicle crashed into the rear of vehicle in front. This happened on a smooth road surface and in dry weather. The truck is being repaired. Please provide any further information.

Driving west on sahara slowed down to stop at light and the brakes would`nt work they the exact samething as in 9/98.
