Power Assist Brake Vacuum Problems of Chevrolet Blazer

Traveling at 45mph and had to come to a stop. Brakes became very hard to push. Slowly was able to stop Blazer s-10. There was no early indicator that my brakes were failing. Took it to the dealer and they told me the power assist booster is faulty. Cost is over 600. 00 to repair .

Brake failure, power brake booster failed and my could not stop the car except with both feet using all the strength she had. Lucky she did not have an accident. The failure occurred at about 35 miles/per hour and ther was no traffic at the time. If there had been a car stopped in front of her she would have hit it because she could not stop the car. Very dangerous safety condition.

Consume r was pulling vehicle inside of yard and applied brakes they were hard and noisy. Dealership was aware of problem. Vehicle is currently at dealership.

Original brake booster failed at approx. 17,000 miles. Replacement booster failed at 47,000. No warning of system degradation noted on either occasion.

While driving on regular road conditions, during normal braking and when applying the brakes, the pedal went almost to the floorboard, and the truck traveled 60 feet before stopping. The dealer stated that the diaphram in the brake booster was busted.

When applying brakes, owner hears air coming out of vehicle. Mechanic says it's the brake booster.
