I have filed a complaint 2 other times on my car from the power train to the electrical and now my radiator. Because of the date of my car, which is one week off, my car doesn't fall under all the recalls that have been made. Everything wrong with my car is a recall including the head gasket! I have paid to fix my car out of pocket every time and now the repair isn't worth fixing because I never know whats going to happen next! just like every other government agency NHTSA is controlled by the big corporations while the little guy gets screwed over! times are hard as is now throw in this plandemic and car problems life becomes unmanageable at times.
Problems with cracked antifreeze and water leaks.
Been having a problem with the turbo for some time. Had it fixed once and now its going bad again. When you go into passing gear it bogs down. Not good in heavy traffic. I love my car. And it hasnt given me any problems but that.
The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that on several occasions while the vehicle was parked, there was smoke coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic twice where it was diagnosed that unknown parts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred after approximately a week. This car has give me way more trouble than it is worth. It kept overheating even with antifreeze in it. The ac would blow hot and the car jerks terribly bad! engine light stays on. I was told it was the battery got that fixed. Still overheated. Then told there was a crack in the reservoir and got that fixed. It blew hot a week later and had smoke coming out couldn't even go across memphis bridge. Mechanic says it's the head gasket which is like a 2k labor tag!.
Driving down the interstate doing 70-80mph and the car starts dinging-stabilitrack, traction control, and reduced power all come on and the car loses power without any warning and couldn't drive faster than 5 mph and had to get to the shoulder of the road without getting hit by other vehicles doing the same speed. This vehicle with this issue that came out of nowhere should not be driven on the road. I have had several issues with this vehicle and cel lights on but nothing that almost completely stops vehicle without warning and almost kills everyone in the car! I get they are trying to save the engine or whatever from further damage but I am pretty sure that I would like to live and not kill anyone else in the process of this so called safety precaution the vehicle takes on.
The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated while driving 40-45 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact was able to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle started overheating while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the knock control system, the knock sensor, the camshaft, the positive crankcase ventilation system, and the engine intake manifold gasket had failed. The contact received an unknown recall notification from the manufacturer associated to the failure at the beginning of the pandemic. The contact contacted several unknown dealers to schedule an appointment however, the dealers informed the contact that there was no availability to complete the recall repair on the vehicle. The manufacturer was later notified of the failure and assisted the contact in scheduling an appointment with the dealer for repair. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under the unknown recall as the recall had expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed back to the contact's residence. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
Fuel damper is literally spraying a steady stream of gasoline inside engine bay. Apparently a very common problem because parts are on back order everywhere I call. My daughter drives this car, and to have her safety in jeopardy is unacceptable. This vehicle was recalled because of oil plate under engine which would pool oil and risk a fire, but gasoline spraying in engine bay has no attention to a recall.
My car started jerking, fan running constant, and over heating. I have brought it to the same dealership dave gill Chevrolet for service 5 times and every time they fix an issue comes back and the engine light comes on and I have to bring it back.

It has been numerous times where I have been driving, whether it be on the highway or a city street, and my car gears have switched all the way down to the lowest gear and it causes my vehicle to jerk and slow all the way down. This is very dangerous especially when there is other vehicles behind me.
The vehicle will be dripping engine coolants. Hoses will malfunction, causing multiple replacement.

The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that since purchasing the vehicle, multiple oil and coolant repairs have been performed on the vehicle due to leakage. The contact stated that while in stop and go traffic, a white smoke began to emit from the vehicle as a warning message stating "turn off heater, high engine heat" appeared on the instrument panel. The contact pulled the vehicle over and upon inspection discovered that there was no coolant in the reservoir. A service vehicle pulled over to help. The service attendant reattached an unknown hose that had disconnected and added coolant. My brakes keep going "hard" and not functioning properly. About a year ago I had my master cylander, brake booster, microswitch in the brake vacuum line, maf sensor and air intake hose replaced because the mechanic said those were the issues, I went 2 weeks without my vehicle, including breaking down for multiple days out of state. Now here I am with the same issues. Before I had them replaced I was told that the microswitch in the brake system was already recalled and replaced. But since then it has failed again. I was told by chevy that they only do the recall once, but if they are replacing it with a faulty part shouldn't that be recalled again? I have two toddlers in my vehicle regularly and losing the power brakes could end very bad. The power brakes fail almost every day, usually the first time I hit the brakes after starting to vehicle. Witch make me think that its going to completely fail again soon.
Purchased my 2012 chevy Cruze March of 2016. July 2016 the car will continue to run after the key was out ignition I took it to naperville chevy they changed thermostat. Took it to chevy again they said trans module they fixed it March 2017 it happened again they didn't know the problem because no engine light on it happened every 4 months October 2018 trans line leaking with the same sign no faster than 20mph jerking they fixed lines January 2019 car jerking again car goes 20 mph but the car will stop at stop sign and will I accelerate to go the car won't move at all I have to turn it off to drive again.
Catalytic converter, engine light on and sulpher smell.
Car was stopped at a red light, ready to make a left-turn and completely shut off for no reason. . Read more...
I took it to firestone for an inspection because I was having issues with my car and was told that I had a faulty cylinder head.
I am having issues with my turbo. After taking it to my mechanic I am told that it is a common issue.
Ac auto shutoff temp to high message comes on l. I have replaced the thermostat already three times. Then the car won't start. Disconnect the ground and put it back on and it starts just fine. You can drive it for a while then ac off comes back in and start the process again.
While driving in the city at night, the vehicle completely shut off, including the engine and all electrical systems without any warnings. This caused all lights to turn off, loss of power steering, power to brakes, and little to control to the vehicle. Luckily, the vehicle behind me noticed and tailed me to a stop with their warning lights. I then proceeded to open the engine with a flashlight to discover that the battery was still properly connected (6 months old) with no frays or corrosion to the connectors or wiring. After about 5 minutes attempting to find a tow truck company the vehicle electrical system came back on with no intervention. I turned the ignition switch and the vehicle started with no issues and no engine lights on. I drove it the rest of the way home with no issues. When I got home I checked all the fuses and all were operable. The obd scanner found no codes. I am mid 30s 190ibs and fairly strong, I could only imagine if this happened in an intersection or during busy hours on the highway, I wouldn't be sitting here reporting this issue. I found numerous similar complaints on blogs concerning this model. I assume not many have reported properly since there is no recall issued for the electrical system.
Overheats regularly even with antifreeze, stops reading coolant temperature randomly.
Without any previous problems before this day. . My transmission went out with only 80,000 miles on June 7, 2018. Being on a busy 2 lane, curvy highway, my car just completely went out of gear and thankfully I was able cruise off to the side. A few minutes later an alert than came up on my dash and said "transmission hot, idle engine". I had bought this car in 2014 with only one previous owner that took really good care of it. It is ridiculous for my transmission to go out with such low mileage and to have to pay $5,000 for a new one and plus the car payments I still have on it. Unfortunately, I am not the only person to have this issue. There are many others. Just because they look nice doesn't mean it will last long.
My car is very dangerous! shuts off while on freeway! jerks forward while on brakes, caused an accident! cruise control does not work! electrical things flashing all the time! jerks and locks up all 4 wheels while driving! just today is shut down on the highway I struggled to get it home while the rpm's were up above 6! you name it, it has it. Think there should be a class action lawsuit against the makers of this vehicle!! class action lawsuit!!!!!.
Tl the contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. While driving approximately 10 mph, the engine power reduced warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle failed to accelerate. A local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure recurred once. The manufacturer stated that there were no recalls on the vehicle and referred the contact to NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000. The VIN was not available.
The car was moving down the road, and all of a sudden, the engine light came on, 'ac off due to high engine temperature'- fans kicked on and ran non stop. Coolant was added immediately only to find out that the head cracked- the coolant was running into the oil. This car was not very old and it for no reason should have cracked. I think it is in relation to recall campaign 12081.
With heater and fan on, nauseating odor is emitted from the vents. The odor smells like anti-freeze. This odor cannot be safe to be inhaling.
Catalayic converter plugged at 82000 miles which caused engine knock noise.
The car says in the instrument cluster "engine looses power" and to "service stabilitrac. " then I loose acceleration. I have to coast to the shoulder shut the car down and restart. It happens more often on the freeway which is super scary. This happens every time drive.
The "check engine" light came on one evening and with a message to service the stabiltrack. I did get the car home. Next morning, started the car, was stopped at an intersection near my home when the engine lost power in the middle of the intersection. Was able to get the car home by turning it off and restarting it, but in trying to drive the car to the repair shop, was not able to get any acceleration and had to have the car towed from my driveway. Diagnostics revealed the throttle body had to be replaced and the sensor cleared. Was told by my mechanic that there is a service bulletin out for this issue from gm. This is a car with 41,000 miles on it.
"takata recall" I am the owner of a 2012 chevy Cruze and it only has 44,000 miles this in which the transmission has went out. It started of down shifting hard when taking off and jerking. As I searched online I found that this is a common problem in these cars.
