Equipment Problems of Chevrolet Cruze - part 2

Based off my mechanic's assessment and that of a Chevrolet dealership, one of the cylinders in my chevy Cruze is no longer firing. The dealership believes at least one of the pistons needs to be replaced. The car is available for inspection. The car is unreliable to drive, as I drove up a freeway incline it slowed to a dangerously low speed for freeway driving. The dealership has confirmed they believe it is an issue with the piston but will not confirm without charging $2800 to dismantle the car and are not able to guarantee they will be able to fix the issue. Diagnostics were run on the car at putnam Chevrolet in burlingame CA. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to a major issue with the cars functionality. The issue first appeared June 15, 2023 without any warning. The engine light came on and the car was not functioning properly, plus a notification to "service stabilitrek". I have found mention of the same problem on consumer forums. Cracked pistons are a known issue on this make and model but there are no recalls and the car is just outside of the warranty.

When I start my car it will sputter then die, also cuts off while driving. It cuts off but will crank up and die again after so many tries it will drive a while and do it again. The check engine was on and I have fixed the O2 sensor, the mass air flow sensor, ive replaced the turbo hose it had a big chunk ripped out of it which we have no clue how that happened, I just changed the pcv valves a few weeks ago and the car started but would not go in drive nor reverse put it back in shop and cleaned the throttle body and it ran good the whole day today I started cutting off again.

I was at a stop light. The cars feature that shuts off the engine when stopped at a light failed as it completely would not start again. This has happened to me a few times now. One of those times it was at a busy intersection and I was almost hit. I had to shut off the car and turn it back on again to get it to move. I spoke to someone at Chevrolet and I was told this feature can not be turned off in this model and there have been known issues. I do not know why with this being known that nothing has been recalled on the vehicle. I can not remember if lights turned on as it was extremely stressful to go through.

I reported on may 14 2023 incident 11521891 at geiger road near usps building the fact there might be a tracking device on my Chevrolet Cruze or now I believe there is a concerted effort to target me to control information or assets. I am in no legal disputes but some harassers are using their "old style harassing" techniques and it has now carried over into the state of idaho. I notified today the dmv office in the state of idaho asking how standard license plates are assigned. My move to the state of idaho was successful -- it was handled by bekins northwest and I am looking forward to enjoying this beautiful state. There is harassing signification to the standard license plate assigned to me klh56u, title no 230301256 and I am awaiting my license plates. I have directed a question to the dmv office in the state of idaho mentioning that this license plate will be brining some further harassment. I can address this in a court of law; it involves bekins northwest and a representative who arrives during the initial move estimate. Why was I assigned license place klh56u here in the state of idaho? I have spent a great deal of money to move here and it is just another harassing maneuver. I will address this in a court of law should you in the department of transportation see a problem with license place klh56u -- it reminds me of u-haul trucks out of reno, nevada and I did not use a u-haul truck out of reno, nevada. This is targeted victimization and harassment and the individuals who are doing this should be held accountable. It is now involving government employees and government agencies. I have asked the dmv office in the state of idaho how I was assigned klh56u as a standard license plate? I await their response and I also mentioned that they should forward to the attorney general in the state of idaho. It is frustrating when these individuals perpetrating the harassment do not care how much it costs taxpayers individuals when this harassment occurs.

We have had this car for little over a 1. 5yrs without any issues. Within the past 2 months, the vehicle has been malfunctioning, primarily the auto stop feature. On four separate occasions, when braking is engaged and bringing the vehicle to full stop, the engine cuts off, leaving all other components running, and the check engine light comes on. After approximately 1. 5 hours of waiting, the engine turns on, the check engine light is gone and once it reaches the service center, diagnostics are unable to detect any issues. There are 3 calls on our account for our vehicle issue. The problem is that in every incident, the vehicle could not be recovered to have it at the service center within less than 2 hours to be properly diagnosed. When connected to the diagnostics, there isn't an indication of the malfunction. The first incident occurred may13,2023, at a stop light within 3 miles of the dealership, on our way to a family birthday party, 2 hours away. Service center was within an hour of closing, and asked we tow it there, they will investigate on may 15,2023, when they are open. After waiting in 90degree+ weather for aaa for almost 2 hours, (they said we would have to wait for 3 hours), I attempted to start the vehicle, and it turned over. We drove home and brought it to the service center, nothing on diagnostics. Frustrated, we left. Second incident occurred on July 5,2023, morning of my knee surgery. I was stranded on an off ramp at a light. We towed it to the dealership, again, and they were too busy to look at right away. By the next morning, it resolved itself. Again. Third incident occurred July 11, 2023, in greensboro, after an appointment consulting on oral surgery and scheduling for my wife, in the parking lot of the office. We called the dealership, and for approximately 45 min. They tried to assist, no avail. 1. 5hrs pass, it starts. Again, doesn't register. Fourth incident on July 15, 2023, in my driveway. It started this morning. Beyond frustrated.

Unknown. My 2012 chevy cruz sits most of the time in my driveway as I drive a second vehicle. Unbeknownst to me, this vehicle has been completely consumed by mold and upon further research on the internet, I discovered that other gm owners have had similar issues with mold. I have owned other vehicles that have sat for long periods of time in my driveway and have never had an issue with mold. I don’t know the exact date that this issue started. All I know is that I looked inside the vehicle last week to jump the battery and found it consumed with mold. Based on the comments of other owners, this appears to be a defect with gm vehicles ranging from the silverado to the impala and the cruz. Owners should not be forced to pay to rectify this s horrible issue or to be out of money when told to salvage their cars.

Issue 1: service stabilitrak and flashing check engine light, has been repaired multiple times. Loss of power and shaking while driving. Replaced ignition coil pack and spark plugs. Check engine code misfire. Issue 2: thermostat sensor, check engine light, display on dash says ac off due to high engine temp, radiator fan constantly running, engine temp gauge stuck on cold. Thermostat has been replaced multiple times.

Thermostat keeps alerting me that it's overheating, while constantly guzzling anti-freeze and water. There's no obvious leak, completely dry under the car. The car will shut its self off.

I was going down road and car shut off and immediately came back on and down road it did it again and all dash lights and interior light came on and had to restart car and dash said service sterilitrak soon.

The 2013 chevy Cruze is prone to overheating and there is always a coolant leak or something related to the coolant/antifreeze that is leaking or not correct. My chevy Cruze has been leaking coolant profusely and so has my friends who had a chevy Cruze as well. It is truly a pain to continuously refill the coolant so that the vehicle will not overheat. A recall needs to be in place immediately. I’ve heard this same story on chevy Cruze a way too many times.

Unknown! I do not have much car knowledge but I do know that the transmission has blown in my 2018 chevy Cruze two times and the shifter made a clicking noise that was very alarming. I have a video but the option to upload a file is only for pictures, I think the video is very crucial to understanding what I mean by clicking noise. The noise was would come randomly about 4 months after having the car. At the time I was 18 years old with no experience of even having my own vehicle and didn’t know I should have taken it back, now it’s too late because my warranty is up. This issue is common and many experts I’ve spoken to are aware that the chevy Cruzes have transmission issues. There was a recall for a “transmission bolt” I took my car to chevy Cruze in poughkeepsie new york for the recall and 18 days later my transmission blew.

My coolant is leaking again. I have been having headache. I didn’t know that it was leaking again. I repaired last before this incident. Nov 2021. Something is wrong.

I was driving down the hill and my car came out of gear the road was slick so I couldn't hit my breaks I had to crash into the ditch to keep from going over the mountain. My airbags did not come out my car is not drivable.

I purchased a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze rs premier hatchback from mastria kia in raynham, MA in January 2023 and it was missing the rear seat headrests (they were neither installed in their oem position or in the car upon delivery). I would like to know if this is a violation of NHTSA regulations. To date, they have been unwilling to provide the proper headrests as installed by the original equipment manufacturer. Thank you.

I think even though it says no recalls on my mother's car I think it is part of this recall because it keeps happening after repaired correctly by her car repair person. I wanted to file this because I feel this a safety concern. My vehicle has always been kept up on maintenance. One day out no where it started acting up my 2013 chevy Cruze LS. I had a shop come back after they did a diagnostic that is was a faulty throttle body sensor and pcv. I have issues with it shutting off and I’ll have to coast it to stop. What I’m not understanding how can there be recalls for my vechicle same problems same make/model but it’s not showing my vehicle matching up with my VIN #. I do have all the supporting documents and paperwork stating these issues.

My headgasket blow due to excessive overheating or other problems I’m not 100 percent sure. I’m not sure if my vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My head gasket blown on the highway, this is very unsafe due to cars around me going excessive speeds. Chevrolet recalled some 2013/2014 Cruze models due too problems with the head gasket. It’s unknown if my vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. Right before my head gasket blown my engine light cut on.

My vehicle has under 80,000 miles and the catalytic converter is already bad. Its causing engine issues and the vehicle to jerk forward when stopped.

My car just shut off by itself while I was driving without any warning. My check engine light isn’t on and I just got my car out of the shop a few weeks ago, so I’m not sure why this happened. It is not safe and was definitely scary, being that I am pregnant and also had daughter with me.

The turbo is messed up my car would not pull when stepping on the gas. Almost got in an accident on the freeway and hood started smoking. Spoke to a mechanic and said it was due to the turbo charger.

My front catalytic convertor has gone out at 160,000 miles heard it could possibly be die to ecm?.

While driving the light came one engine overheating a/c shut off. There was a leak of coolant. I was stranded on the side of the road. We had it brought to a mechanic. They repaired the problem. Within 3 days it started again, the mechanic thought it was a faulty part so replaced it. After a week it happened again. We had it repaired again. Now 2 months later it is happening again. Once again stranded on the side of the road this has happened 4 times in 2 months and looks to be a very common issue with a simple search online. Multiple parts replaced and still stranded9.

My 2016 chevy cruise heating and cooling system failed. Car engine over heats causing engine to stop in mid drive. Hoses (main) and connections to heating and cooling systems faulty. Main hose to cooling system faulty (dry rotted ).

Valve cover, I’ve had the valve cover replaced 3 times, an yet it keeps needing replaced an oil is getting all over my engine.

I was at a stop light and when I hit the gas pedal to go on green light the car stalled and died. I tried turning off and restarting but nothing happened. I was in a busy intersection and could have been hit. A kind stranger helped me push it out of the intersection. Car has to be towed and I am waiting for service department to let me know what the problem is. I have canceled 1 1/2 days of work and will probably have to be out another day. I will also probably have rent a car until problem is fixed.

Power steering forums say there a recall my car and light is on. So is there ? manufactured July 2013.

Vehicle overheats and cuts off. Vehicle does not retain coolant vehicle does not accelerate. Throttle body has been changed 2x in 6 months. My daughter has been left in the dark while vehicle sparked while overheating.

During rain or carwash, water leaks into rear passenger cabin along ceiling. Suspect coming from cracked rear third brake light which is a known Cruze issue that may also cause battery issues. My third brake light has two cracks (one on each side).

Gear shift stuck in park will not start. Has power.

When the ac on the brake pad will lock and there no brakes you can't push it down it gets hard but when you turn the ac turns off the brake pad goes back to normal but it's damage to be driving and this happen . . Also the trac control light comes on along with the sailablzie light.

Failed catalyst converter due to hot exhaust overload. . Cracked ceramic lining in catalyst.
