I had the problem with the service air bag light coming on and staying on. I had the problem fixed but I see that my vehicle isn't under recall. I had to have the passenger side pretensioners assembly replaced. This light would come on when the car was started and stay on until the car was turned off.

Car has had service air bag light on for years prior to being inherited. 4 codes were pulled inlcuding: 1. B0021 passenger seat side air bag deployment loop open. 2. B001b passenger pretensioner deployment loop 2 open. 3. B001b passenger pretensioner deployment loop 2 high resistance 4. B001b passenger pretensioner deployment loop 2 high resistance it appears some 2009 Impalas were recalled regarding the side passenger airbag wiring and this one may be related.
This is not the first time this has happened. On the hwy going 60mph, all of a sudden my engine power is reduced and airbag light came on. The next day the air bag light and engine light are both on. Went to my mechanic for an inspection (which I failed due to the airbag) and he informed me to contact the dealership for recall. I did, only to find out the recall is closed and I can't get this fixed unless I come up with a lot of money. I explained I never got anything from the manufacturer about the recall. How can I get my car fixed on a closed recall?.
The service airbag light keeps coming on. There's a frayed wire under the seat and Chevrolet is trying to charge $380 to fix the problem. Chevrolet really should open a recall for this issue because it is so common.
Tl the contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated while driving 50 mph, the air bag warning indicator light illuminated. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 135,000.
I had an issue with the check engine light, car stalling, and changing gears slow. The chevy dealership stated that the purge valve was bad and replaced it on 7/3/20. My mom had the same issue with her chevy trax and a different dealership in a different city said that her purge valve was stuck open and replaced it. Also my airbag light is on now. I saw that tamara has recalls on certain vehicles but my chevy isn't listed.

My airbag light has been on now roughly two months and sometimes I'm actually scared to drive the car hoping that it won't deploy while I'm driving but it's my only means of transportation to get back and forth to work. I have checked all fuses I have gotten someone to put a tester light on it to make sure the wires are not brokenand there is no problem with the fuses all the wires so I have no idea what the problem is and the car was stationary when it first came on.
Received letter from GMC in March 2020 regarding electrical wire leading to passenger seat not deploying and may become disconnected and fail to deploy when commanded. Also an indication will be displayed on the dashboard. My car is experiencing this issue and GMC fails cover the cost because its not identified as recall. The states they will cover for no charge if within 8 years of originally placed in service or 80,000 miles (whichever comes first). GMC should already that 2014 cars will be well 80,000 miles in 2020! since this is a safety issue and lives are at stake, GMC should not make this financial burden for consumers. Additionally the electrical wiring for the entire system is an issue. My screen continues to blink in and out and show a system refresh and the radio, bluetooth capability, and locking mechanisms are inoperable as well. All of these issues started at the same time! GMC needs to take the same steps regarding airbag safety as Ford has done for their consumers with out of warranty vehicles! Ford is providing a free service to their customers because they value the lives more profits. I've taken vehicle for service today (4/9/21) and I'm looking a a healthy bill. Hopefully electrical/safety issues can be addressed with GMC as this issue has been identified in multiple forums including this website. The number associated with the electrical airbag issue is n192216430. The electrical issues with screen and airbag was identified when starting the car and no connection and airbag indicator on dashboard. This happened around June 2020. I spoke with Chevrolet customer assistance center today (4/9/21) and no help was offered for this issue.

For some reason throughout the last year my air bag light will stay on for quite awhile then go off and come back on at another time! I noticed there was a recall on air bags and even though it doesn't show a recall for my car I feel there is an issue with my air bags!.
When I was driving driving on the 91 freeway going to work at the speed, approximately 65 mph the transmission started shifting erratically like it was going to stop or it was stuck in the wrong gear. My husband was told to make an appointment to bring the car into GMC weeks later they finally decided that we could bring the car in only to be told that there was no lights on the dash board and they test drove it around the block and did not feel any issues. Than around October I was driving and the air bag light kept popping up on the dashboard and making a beeping noise around every 2-3 minutes of driving. My husband took the car back in to the dealership(penske Chevrolet in cerritos auto square) the technician unhooked the wires for the air bag and said that they would order the part. I was infuriated!! not only was I driving a car that I do not feel safe in but. I have to put my 12 year old daughter who has been having seizures life in danger as well. The technician also stated that there is a safety recall on the defective seat belts as well. One month later the dealership calls my husband and says that the part is in for the seat belt and airbags he installs it and calls my husband and says that the parts are defective. 2 months later today and still have no parts, no solution and the constant run around!.

My Impala air bag light frequently lights up. Then the passenger air bag light says off even when there is a passenger. At other times the passenger seat belt sign is on and the air bag sign says on, and there is no passenger. It happens when I start the car and randomly while driving. I had this diagnosed at a chevy dealer and the car needs passenger presence sensor and electronic control unit hardware. These parts are expensive. The Impala has 41000 miles. I believe this a safety concern for required equipment on automobiles.
Got into a collision a few months back with side and front damage. Took to be repaired, after car got out of shop, air bag light came on and wont go off and it says "service air bag system". Body shop was notified and nothing was done.

The passenger side air bag . . . If I have a passenger on front seat the airbags goes off and light comes o the dash saying service airbag. . . Now I have no one in the car with me and airbag light is still on.
Airbag light comes on, on the passenger side when no one is sitting in the seat. The light comes on for service. The light would come on once I put the car in drive or once I put the vehicle in park. The first time the light would come on and go off but the second time the light stayed on. I took my car to the dealer twice and it was a bad sensor in the seat. It took a week to get the part from the manufacturer.
The passenger air bag light keeps coming on so therefore the passenger is not protected. My car is only 3 tears old and the airbags should not be messing up. The extended warranty will not cover it. It is going to be $1250. 00 to get it fixed I have a car note and I am not able to pay that.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Impala. While driving various speeds, the air bag warning indicator illuminated intermittently. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v507000 (air bags, electrical system). The approximate failure mileage was 143,000.
While driving on a street, the airbag service light illuminated and warning indicator for the red airbag sign displayed. Checked all connections and drove it to the dealership. They said they fixed the problem but they did not.
Tl the contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that the air bag indicator illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who informed him that the vehicle may be included in a recall. The contact was referred to NHTSA. The contact also took the vehicle to an unknown dealer and was informed that he would either have to replace the air bags or replace the wiring in the vehicle. The dealer informed the contact to call NHTSA to check if the vehicle was included in a recall. The contact called NHTSA and was informed that there were no active recalls on his vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and recommended that all the seat belts be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 94,000.
Air bag light comes on and off{intermittingly) while driving.
My service airbag light as well as check engine light go on and off with no apparent reason. I believe an electrical issue.
Takata recall. The power steering light signal came on while starting the car. The sterring wheel waa stiff. The car acted as if it didnt want to start when it on my radio station was on some random station as if the battery was messed with. While driving and in park the passenger airbag light goes off as if noone is in the passenger seat when clearly someone is sitting buckeled in. The power steering happend today and the airbag light has happened occasionally in the past couple months.
Air bag light goes and off on the dash. I had it scannedc at autozone and the obd reader shows "driver seat belt anchor pretensioner deployment loop, short to ground ".
My airbag light keeps coming on and off, I owned another 2009 chevy Impala that I had a recall on but when I type in this one it doesn't come up. But the airbag light does keep coming on and off.
Airbag light started coming on and going off randomly. It began becoming more frequent so I took it to ourisman Chevrolet to get it checked out. I was told that the passenger seat occupancy sensor and airbag module were bad and needed to be replaced, and for $1979 they could repair it, imagine that. I let them know that if I had to put that kind of money in an airbag every 55,000 miles I would be looking at an airbag light for the next 10 years.
