Automatic transmission slipping gears on take off, wheels sound like bearings are going out, like a grinding noise. Changed the front brake pads and rotors together due to wheel wobble and brake sensors on display. Constantly displaying "service traction control" on message board. Dealership has refused to assist with this issue as well as any failures of the vehicle. Vehicle now is immobilized, and will not go into a forward movement only a reverse drive. Wheels are locked up and vehicle is stranded! still making payments on this used purchase. Please advise!!!.

I was traveling west bound on interstate 22 when the stabilitrak requires maintenance displayed across driver's information center. Next the traction control light and display lights up followed by, reduced engine power, in which I lost almost all power to my vehicle. I was traveling around 70 mph in the left lane and had to navigate two lanes of traffic to reach a safe spot on the shoulder of the interstate.

When accelerating from stopped position, especially when turning to either side, experienced a grinding noise, loss of power, dimming lights, and abs light coming on. Grinding noise comes from lower engine area in front of vehicle. Repeated occurrences are becoming more frequent. Not known what the problem is, but appears to be tied to abs/electrical system. Postings of similar situations have appeared in various websites dealing with frequent problems of specific vehicles. Gm dealer charged me diagnosis fee, but found nothing. Gm dealer said in order to find the problem I would have to bring car in when abs light was on. I am concerned that I am due for a significant failure before dealer finds the problem, or acknowledges same. Although I reference one date of occurrence, this problem has been happening for 6 months with increasing events as of late.
At about 85,000 miles I am getting a grinding noise from the left front side. Dealer said it was bearings, which I had replaced at a private garage. Now the sound is back after only a thousand miles or so. Typically, it happens at low speed, and mostly when turning left.

From a stopped position, trying to take off car acts as if I'm neutral and then will suddenly jerk into gear. The automatic hear shifts are rough and delayed. There's very little power or struggle to register when applying gas. When on fwy especially when in slow moving traffic there is a lot of problems with the transmission and slipping, rough gear shifts both up and down. Then the scary part is when driving with my 2 little girls and in regular or heavy traffic and making turns, especially left, I have had the car freeze up on me in the middle of intersections. When I try and accelerate I'm stuck as if I'm neutral and hear the engine revving and finally will violently like pop into gear. It's made me have a lot of safety issues for myself and children. It's very frustrating and problematic. With all these things happening the transmission nor check engine light has appeared, therefore making it tremendously difficult near impossible for me to have it properly diagnosed using scanner and computer reader. Every repair shop has given different "findings" after only a drive around the block. It's a nightmare.

Transmission slips front end hits hard when bumps occur service air bag is on the dashboard actuator knocks ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly; 3 - VIN corrected, error in one position (assuming check digit is correct); 14 - unable to provide information for all the characters in the VIN. #vpic#.
The car keeps shorting out the battery. The starter is sluggish. The traction control light keeps coming on.
The traction and/or suspension causes the car to stall when turning. It is very dangerous because the car does not move and could cause the driver (and passengers) to be in an accident. Once the car gets in motion, it moves at an accelerated speed to catch up to what the normal speed would have been. This happens mainly on city streets as a result of turning. There have also been times the car was unable to be in motion when simply stopping at a stop sign and driving forward.
The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that there was an unstable motion in the front of the vehicle associated with the suspension of the vehicle. The dealer was notified of the failure and the manufacturer who stated that there was no manufacturer recall and no recommended repair solution to prevent the failure until the vehicle was further tested and diagnosed. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 12v377000 (suspension). The contact was uncertain if the vehicle would be repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
Recall.
When making left turns, the car hesitates, and there is a grinding noise, while turning. The problem is happening more often.
Every time I turn warning lights for my stablizing system and abs then the brakes starts to lock up sometimes with it also traction control also turn on and off this is every time I drive the car have taken it to 3 dealers no one can find the problem this is every time I start the car and drive on the streets or on the highway.
I am informing you of some very serious concerns in regards to parts of the 07 and 08 chevy Impala that have failed causing accidents as well as injury and grave potential for fatalities. Airbags not deploying, seat belts not locking on impact first and foremost I have requested copies of the paperwork that was submitted to the courts in somerset WI. This showed exactly what took place causeing an accident that was considered negligent due to medications I was on and my disability. The mechanic gave me this report along with info stating that this was a huge problem in fleet police vehicals. The info stated that the police vehicals were fixed and checked however this part has no recall or revision to correct the safety issues that we can find. My vehical does have high millage however it has been very well taken care of thanks to erickson oil and mechanic friends. This part snapping after cracking esily resulted in complete loss of control as well as the car locking up and becoming impossible to steer and stop. It is disturbing that these parts were not corrected from a manufactering aspect (this was looked at by a machinest, as well as an engineer and by the qaulity/dimesions/structure this part easily looked defective) the visual as well as skilled aproach to problem solving drove us to look up recalls prior to buying a new part. We could not find any. Just info that this exact make and model were purchased as fleet vehicals in 07 and 08. Problems with many of these cars resulted in pulling all of the fleet/govnt patrol cars in to be fixed/investigated. However we have been unable to find a recall or warning that should have also been issued to the public. I am currently looking into help to investigate and help get this looked at as it caused an accident as well as being unstable and faulty in another minor impact accident potentiaaly increasing fatality/injuries.
In the right rear section of car there is a rattle all the time.

I have seen a lot of people say that their rack and pinion has broken and they have fix it and it has broken again. The rack and pinion on my car has broken. I dont feel very comfortable with driving this car at all. They told me that the tire is about to fall off. Can you please get this fix. The car has been driving very well on the streets and highway. It has started to shake while I was on the highway. I made it home safe to be told that my rack and pinion had broke. I fear for my life if something would have happen as I was driving on the highway.

Popping noise coming from front end of car. Noise occurs with acceleration, braking, shifting transmission or passing over speed bumps or rough roads. Generally occurs at lower speeds, less than 35mph, but occurs with higher speeds as well, although not as frequently. (possibly coming from sub-frame or sub-frame bolts?).
2009 Chevrolet Impala. Consumer writes in regards to unrepaired recalls which resulted in a fatal accident. The consumer stated the vehicle was traveling at high speeds. The dips in the road, the high speed, the loading/unloading and of the suspension contributed to the loss of control of the vehicle.

The gm factory installed 20" wheels rub on the wheel wells when cornering. Impacts steering and could wear tires. The clearence should be measured + investigated on 2014 Impala vehicles with the 20" premium wheels installed.
I have had to replace the tires on this car for the third time, this car has 30,000 miles and should not have had to have tires 3 times. There seems to be quite a lot of 2009 Impalas with this problem. The front times wear on the out side and inside. The back tires are like new. The first set of tires had 10,000 miles on them, the second set had 12,000 miles on them. The dealer replaced the front tires the first time after a lot of argument . I have found 37 complaints about this problem. Gm has repaired the problem on the 2009 Impala police cars,so that is an admission of a problem. They have not extended this fix to the other buyers of the 2009 Impalas. My car also had several recalls for other problems. I am now waiting for the ignition repair to be fixed. I have been a gm buyer for over 40 years and this is so frustrating.
The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Impala. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle began shaking without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 197,000.
I was driving with my son and the car just cut off in the middle of the street. Thank god we didn't get hit. The car cut back on but that was scary. It (the car) also has some type of security feature that won't allow the car to start at times.
