Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph and tried to change to the right lane, the steering became loose and the contact lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle swerved to the left, hit another vehicle and crashed into a guard rail. There was no warning indicators. The driver's side air bag deployed. The contact (only) sustained injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard from where the insurance company took over the vehicle for assessment. The failure mileage was estimated at 99,000. The contact stated that she received a recall. 3 Steering Is Loose problem

I was changing the lane. Steering loose contact with wheel. Wheel turned without any control. Luckily no accident. Brake worked. I stopped the car and started again. It worked fine. There should be recall for this type of inident.

4 Steering Is Loose problem

Steering has been loose while turning left and tighter when turning right since I first got this vehicle. On Nov,4 2010 I was pulling out of store and accelerated the steering seems to have locked up and rendered me unable to steer pulled on side of the road to calm down then began driving again when accelerating the steering lock up again. Brought vehicle to gm repair shop they said the steering motor and steering shaft were not working properly and need to be replaced.
