The spring steel c-clip holding the cvt fluid cooling line in place at the radiator fell off while the vehicle was in motion on interstate 5. The transmission fluid drained out onto the roadway resulting in complete loss of power to the wheels. The engine light came on but the engine ran fine.

2 Automatic Transmission Cooler problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 06/09/2018

Takata recall my 2010 chevy Malibu was in park and turned off. Turned on the car put it in drive and drive tondrive forward and the car wouldn't move. It sounds like it's accelerating but the car won't move at all. Put car in park and it will reverse fine. Goes into park and works in neutral. Anytime I try to go forward the car won't go anywhere. It's not making any sounds everything sounds normal. I have been told I need a new transmission by a couple different car shops and that the trasmossion cooling pipe is broken by chevy.

3 Automatic Transmission Cooler problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 12/04/2012

Odor from leaking cooling system. Car pulls to left. Driver does seat not adjust with the control. Front tires are worn down cords showing. Bought car at ourisman chev. Car dealer (34,523 miles) with platinum coverage. Car current (49,512 miles). They insisted that I should pay for new tires$295. Transmission flush $249. 00. Fuel induction service $179. Coolant hose$10. That my plan only cover surge tank which I have to pay $100. 00 deductible. I brought the car 5/17/12. Reading through complaints 2009 Malibu have similar car problem. I don't have the funds for all these problem for a car that own for this short period of time.

4 Automatic Transmission Cooler problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 10/10/2011

The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the fuel system, transmission, cooling system and power steering needed to be flushed. The spark plugs, fuel filters, and hub kit were replaced. However, the failure persisted. The vehicle was returned to the independent mechanic who replaced the ignition switch. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

5 Automatic Transmission Cooler problem of the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 07/01/2011

Letter from senator brown on behalf of constituent re concerns about 2008 Chevrolet Malibu (respond to cleveland office the consumer stated the transmission cooler lines and front hub assembly were replaced. Also, the power steering light illuminated and the headlights had condensation which caused the bulbs to blow out. The dealer found a seal around the parameter of the capsule was not properly sealed at the factory. The intermediate steering shaft and power steering control module were replaced. Also, the front seat heater switch had to be replaced, due to the heater coming on when the seat was occupied.

6 Automatic Transmission Cooler problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Malibu

Transmission fluid spraying out on the underside of car. Mechanic seems to think this vehicle was in an accident. If so, this was not disclosed to me. Transmission line is bent. Will return vehicle to dealer for repairs.
