Having problems with my rear stop lights, traction control/ indicator light, ecs/ indicator light. When driving center brake light remains on but when I need to apply brakes they go off, lights on dashboard have been on since I purchased the vehicle which were never addressed the only light addressed was the check engine light. All other issues were voided being that they let me drive down to n. C. Knowing it would void my warranty with them after putting 1 thousand miles on the vehicle without notication to me.

The third brake light cracked for unknown reasons in several spots. This has caused water to leak in and damage the ceiling/interior. It is just one of several issues that have happened since purchasing this vehicle brand new in 2018. It has singlehandedly been the worst vehicle that I have ever purchased as it has been unreliable, dangerous (shift to park, reduced engine power, etc) and costly with repairs.

I purchased this 2011 cheverolet Malibu brand new. A few years prior to me giving it to my daughter, I had to get the headlights replaced several times, one would go out a month or so after I had the other one fixed. I gave it to her in 2019 and lately every other week one or even both of the front headlights have gone out. Also, the third brake lamp randomly goes out and now one of the rear brake lamps has gone out. There’s already over 100 complaints about these issues with this particular model but gm has yet to do a recall! why?? it’s clearly an issue with the vehicle and the fact that the entire front bumper has to come off to get to it is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen!!! headlights, of all things, randomly going out on a vehicle is not safe at all! there are people out here who have children in these faulty vehicles and clearly neither gm nor the NHTSA cares. What is it going to take for someone to do something about this, deaths???.

Driverside airbag light will come on with service airbag message. This does occasionally turn off but comes back for days or weeks at a time. Driver side seatbelt light will randomly come on and stay on or turn off. Both airbag and seatbelt light may be on at the same time. If they are all off or the airbag light turns off it's only for a day or two. Most of the time it will be the airbag light only that is on and tends to stay on longer than seatbelt light.
Passenger side low beam headlight wiring harness connector keeps melting even after replacement. Noticed online that many owners are experiencing the same issue. Replaced harness multiple times and same issue reoccurs after two to three weeks of use.

The headlights keep. Going out. I've replaced everything amd it keeps happening and it's not easy to even get to the headlight. This is a hazard as my 16 year old drives this car. We fix it and then it's out all. Over again. This has to be a recall as I've done some research and im. Not the only one with this problem. We've been pulled over and we just explained our frustration and they've been nice enough to send us on our way.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that the four doors would inadvertently lock and unlock, causing the battery to drain quickly. The contact used pliers to unlock and open the doors. Additionally, the headlights were dimmed, and the turn signals intermittently failed to operate as needed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the body control module (bcm) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 14v252000 (electrical system, exterior lighting, vehicle speed control, electronic stability control) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

The vehicles brake lights are not working properly. They are on when driving and no brake pedal pressure is applied. When you apply brake pedal pressure the brake lights go out. This is a safety hazard cars approaching from the rear do not see a stopped car. Chevrolet had a special policy and technical bulletin regarding this issue. It stated that the electrical pins going to the body control computer did not have sufficient contact. The bulletin went on to say that to attempt to resolve the issue apply dielectric grease to the contacts in an effort to allow the contacts to make sufficient contact to pass the current. They also advised to secure the wiring harness to the body control computer and structure of the car. This is a major safety issue effecting cars from 2006-2014.
Dashboard light don't work majority of the time is started like month ago and before that started there was something on the dash I believe is said brake/stability trak and now the battery keeps dying.

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu. The vehicle was previously serviced under NHTSA campaign number: 14v252000 (electrical system, exterior lighting, vehicle speed control, electronic stability control). The contact stated that on various occasions and while driving at various speeds, the traction control and power steering disengaged independently as the "reduced engine power" warning message was illuminated and the vehicle velocity dropped down to 10 mph. The contact also stated that the brake lights flickered intermittently without applying the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the intake camshaft actuator, mass air flow and manifold absolute pressure (map) sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failures recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 168,000.
I drive down the road and the brake lights come on I hit the brake then they go off. Randomly when I drive service esc service traction come on but as soon as I turn the car off and back on it is gone. Cruise control stopped working as well.

Dealer not assisting in recall repairs that weren’t corrected.
Brake lights automatically come on when you don't touch the brakes and go off when you do. Gm has had at least 2 recalls on this problem which this vehicle has gone through and now at 177,000 miles there was a 3 recall which gm won't honor due to high mileage. If it was unsafe at 150,000 miles why is it not unsafe now? we've had it fixed on our own which cost $200. 00 and lasted all of 5-6 months.

The brakes are doing the same thing that was recalled and repaired back in 2014. They are illuminating while driving down the road and turn off while I hit the brakes. I have been pulled over several times and cannot get my car inspected without getting this corrected. I have bought several parts trying to repair this but the parts are not correcting the problem. Cruise control, stability control and sever other functions are not working either all of them are related to the same recall issued back in 2014. Is there any kind of warranty on the recall that was repaired?.
The issue is that there are times when the brake lights kick on when I’m not braking and they stay on and when I brake they turn off. I’m at risk and so are the people who drive in back of me. The lights kick on and they don’t know when I’m actively braking. I took it to the merle stone a year ago now and they “fixed it” but it still occurred. No warning lamps/lights. It was my moms car before it became mine and she’s told me that when she drove it, it was already happening before it was gifted to me so I can’t pinpoint exactly when it started happening. I’ve searched the internet and I’ve came upon stories of other people with this same make and model have the same issue. I currently don’t that the invoice of when they “fixed” the issue but I could always contact the merle stone and get a copy emailed (hopefully) if needed.
Third brake light cracks on left side, resulting in damage to the brake light and letting water leak in through the roof damaging the car's interior, including the rear curtain airbags.
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving and attempting to use the infotainment system, the headlights became inoperable. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and the headlight was repaired however, the infotainment system was not repaired or replaced. The manufacturer was contacted however, no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 1,900.

I purchased the car for my mother on 10/20/2015 from mike savoie Chevrolet in troy, mi. At the time I had a concern because there was a message being displayed on the car “service esc”, I was informed by the dealer that it was a false message and there was no issue with the car, we should just disregard but if we had any problems to let him know moving forward. At that time we did not have issues with anything else. There was about 80,000 miles on the odometer when we bought it, there are only about 95,300 now. Recently the brake lights have been coming on when the brakes are not applied, we have taken the car to a mechanic three times for this issue but he has been unable to duplicate it, as a result he felt that the brake pedal sensor was at fault and replaced it, but the issue still exists, a wasted $200! my 17 year old grandson is now using the car, the issue occurred again today and I discovered that this issue may be associated with a recall which also includes the “service esc” message which has been on the car since I bought it. However, when I enter the VIN it shows no open recalls. Apparently it was not fixed and the dealer should have fixed it before I bought it or I should have been notified of the recall. I am very concerned about my grandson’s safety and will need to switch my car with him so that he can be as safe as possible! not only do the brake lights come on when not applied, but you need to tap the brake to turn them off at that point other drivers are not aware that the brake is being applied. Taking the car back to the repairman today. Please help. Thank you very much for your time and attention to this matter.
Passenger as well as driver side headlight continuously pop on and off, not blowing the bulbs but assuming there is a wiring issue.
Passenger and or driver side low beam headlight continues to go out. Mechanic has found connector keeps burning out the socket. Light is burnt out on bott sides. But connector is shorting out. Fire and safety issue. This issue is on a lot of Chevrolet Malibus and needs a recall initiated to correct these issues. I keep getting pulled over due to need to us high beams and not having low beams. This is reoccurring and getting expensive to be done over and over.
Right (passenger side) lo beam headlight continues to go out. You must remove the bumper to change headlamps, so, time consuming and expensive labor. I have changed this bulb 4 times just for it to go out within a couple hours. There is an entire forum of this same complaint. When you make a large purchase such as a vehicle, you should be assured that you can use your vehicle as intended without the stress and worry of malfunctions that can lead to costly tickets.
The headlights have went out over 10 times. The wiring keeps burning. This is a known issues. Why is there not a recall? it’s extremely expensive and hard to get the front end of the car off to replace the bulb to find out it’s not the bulb. It goes out every few months. Even the dealership service department has told me it’s a known issue!.
The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that when she drives her vehicle her brake light is illuminated. The contact stated that at the time she is not depressing the brake pedal when brake lights are illuminated. The contact stated stated that when she is switching gears for from either drive or reverse the brake light only illuminates once in gear and does not turn off. The contact also stated that her traction control warning light also illuminates while driving, how ever her vehicle does not drive any differently. The contact stated stated that she has taken her vehicle to a independent mechanic who advised her that there was a recall on the same year, make and model vehicle as her vehicle NHTSA campaign 14v252000 (electrical system, exterior lighting, vehicle speed control, electronic stability control) . The contact said she was advised that her vehicle had to be taken to the actual dealer to have her vehicle reprogrammed. The contact stated that she has not yet contacted the dealer nor the manufacturer at this time. The mileage failure 60,000.
My 3rd brake light works intermittently. I have bought my car just over a year ago from a pre-owned dealership.

Think I will sell . It's the worse recall I've heard of. Can they be fixed.

Dash lights flickering in and out and I can’t see my speed but the car still runs n has blinkers. Eventually it will flicker and go all the way black. Also the radio still worked fine n reverse camera did too it don’t stall or anything tho I’m just scared to drive at night cause I goes totally black.
Service electronic stability control light comes on and brake light comes on and off at times.
I was driving to work with my son and sister in the car when the steering wheel suddenly got very tight and started jerking when I attempted to make a left or right turn. I then stopped at a gas station and as soon as I came to a complete stop the vehicle shut off before I could turn it off manually. I then attempted to turn the key on and start the vehicle but it would not turn over, it would only make a clicking sound. I called a friend that was close by to come and assist me so when they arrived I asked them to jump my vehicle off via jumper cables which did get my vehicle's engine to finally start. The car sounded very weak as if it was going to shut off again once we disconnected the jumper cables but it didn't shut off. Nothing was working inside the car or outside meaning I had no radio, no interior lights and nothing on my dash was working. The speedometer wasn't working, the rims guage wasn't working, the temp guage wasn't working nor was anything else working on my dash. The turn signals were not working for either side and none of my headlights or taillights were working either. And I still did not safely have control of the steering. The only warning lamp, which didn't appear until my friend jumped my car off, was what looked like a symbol of a vehicle with a symbol of a locked lock in front of it. This failure just happened so I have not taken the car to a certified mechanic to inspect it but the car is available for inspection at any time. I can not afford to put my car in the shop, I work part time at a restaurant in my town and I'm also disabled and I also care for my 8 year old son who is severely autistic so I have no extra money to fix these problems. Please I need help.

Both low beam headlights stopped working. Two days later the passenger side low beam headlight turned on again, but not the driver side. 2 months later both low beams again no longer working. I've replaced all 4 fuses (interior and exterior), headlight relay, and bulbs. None of that fixed the problem.
The component that has malfunctioned or failed is the pigtail for the low beam headlight on the driver side. The safety issue is that I am driving with one headlight reducing the visibility of the road. The problem has been reproduced because this is the second time that I had to change the headlights. The vehicle was not inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representative because the price would have been more than $300. There are no warning lamps or messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to failure. It occurred two years ago. And once again this year.
