2 Constant Velocity Joint problem of the 2000 Chevrolet S10

Failure Date: 05/26/2001

Rubber boot cover broke and caused loss of lubricant around right side cv joints, which have broken and disconnected. Vehicle towed to dealer for repairs. A hole was poked in the cv driver axle boot. This caused it to lose grease and bind the wheel. This incident was a result of poor design and very dangerous flaw.

Due to yoke that was improperly casted and too narrow, which caused the unversal joints to shear off 4 times, almost resulted in the driveshaft falling out. May caused an accident.
