Chevrolet Silverado owners have reported 2 problems related to crankcase (pcv) (under the engine and engine cooling category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Driving down the highway, and a piece of pvc pipe went into the front of the gas tank and then most of the way out. Right now, there are approximately 15 pounds of pvc pipe stuck in the tank. The aluminum cover only covers the back and the side of the gas tank.

Engine is using between 4 and 7 qts of oil between oil changes. General motors designed a new pcv valve in hopes of solving this oil usage problem. It has not helped one bit. The truck is not leaking the oil out on the ground. There is no blue smoke coming from tailpipe. This to me seems to be air pollution. I was told it was a nation wide problem not just mine. The vehicle is doing this at normal highway driving speeds of 55 to 70 mph. Dt.
