I have bought vehicles since I was 17 years old. I have never had the whole left side electronics go bad like in my 2008 silarado, ltz. The windows would not go up or down. Either side. My mirrows would not come in. Extended cab windows would not work . I replaced left door electronics panel, chev. Dealer mechanic tryed to synronize with vehicle computer ($130. 00) found broken wires in harness. Mechanic tried to fix the problem and shut drivers door. Opened door and the wires had broken again plus it shorted out a fuse panel. A new harness and panel was orderd. A week later the new items were installed ( $606. 89). The mechanic then fould that the left rear door was shorting out and it needed a new harness ($500. 99). I waited another week and this harness was installed on 2-13-15. If I had been in a wreck and the doors could not be opened and I could not get my windows down I could have burnt up or the first responders would have had to cut me out of my truck. This happened to me in the middle of the night with my whole left side electronics going dead. A friend of mine also bought a 2008 Chevrolet suburbin and has also had to replace the left side electronics in his drivers door. (brad tuttle, owner of body shop) he advised that he had heard of many others with the same problems.
I was driving in heavy traffic and used my left turn signal all of the lights is the truck started flashing and the doors unlocked and locked them selves. Then two miles later still in heavy traffic I flashed my lights at a truck to let him know he could safely enter my lane at which point the truck cut completely off going 35 mph in heavy traffic. This is very unsafe and I am lucky that no one was following to close.

All four doors would not lock or unlock by pressing the lock button on either front doors or by using the remote when stopped. It scares me as a parent of a seven year old that the doors may not lock when needed and my child could accidentally open the door when driving anywhere at any speed. For the safety of my family and friends this really concerns me because if we were in an accident what if the doors couldn't unlock by button or manually or lock to keep passengers in while driving. In my opinion this is a safety hazard that really needs to be investigated by gm and an action taken into affect to correct this faulty issue or parts.
Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado diesel 3500hd. The contact stated that while inspecting the vehicle in the driveway, it was found that there was transmission fluid leakage. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 158,000. Pam.
The driver side door will not open it just stopped no notice. The next week the windows in the back seat will go down but not up driver side has to roll up. The passenger side door lock won't work driver has to unlock.
At approximately 2:30 am, November 10th, my husband had just gotten back from the store, and had turned the truck off. The keys were not in the ignition at the time. He was sitting in the truck for about 10 minutes, when he noticed smoke coming from the dashboard. He opened the hood, noticed flames, and tried to put it out with a fire extinguisher. We called the fire department, but by the time they got to the house, the entire cab of the truck was engulfed in flames. The heat was so intense it melted the siding off my house. The truck was used for his business, and he had two chainsaws in the back that were destroyed. There is absolutely nothing left.

Here is a brief history of the issues involving the 1012 Chevrolet Silverado lt texas edition after the purchase date of September 3, 2012. First, I noticed that it has increasingly become more difficult to open the front passenger window from the driver side master control unit around 2014. Now, I have to press hard several times to open the window. Second, the outside moldings of the door panels are falling off starting in mid-2014. Third, I have started to hear popping noises coming from the ball joints when the steering wheel is turned to the left or right at a very low speed starting the beginning of 2014. These issues were reported to the Chevrolet customer service at the gm headquarters in August 2015. On September 4, 2015, the truck was finally diagnosed by the Chevrolet dealership service department that sold the pickup. The invoice dated September 4, 2015 indicates the lower ball joints worn with play, door moldings falling off, and the driver's master switch shorted.

Warning lights started flashing in the information center, starting with abs warning, then cycled through the rest of the warnings. The instrument panel gauges and gear selector , mileage display, and all other digital lighting shuts off. Functions then turn back on, then off. It continues this cycle throughout the time the vehicle is running. I consider this a dangerous situation as when all driving information shuts down, it leaves driver with no clue of speed of travel, level of fuel, in which gear the vehicle is in, etc. Etc.

I don't like the auto locks on all the doors. If you don't put the truck in park, the doors will not unlock, and if the kids pull the handle before I put in park, you have to go outside the truck and open the door. I have turned off all the locks and it still does it, and the dealership says that is just the way they are made now. If I was in an accident and the car was still in gear, my kids would be trapped in the truck, because even hitting the unlock buttons will not open the doors. This is very concerning, I can't even drop the kids off at school in the line because I have to put the truck in park in order for the doors to unlock and that is after I hit the unlock button to get them to unlock. This is very scary to my wife and I. What can be done? thanks.

Used the truck and parked the truck with no problems. Then the truck sat for 1day and had heavy rain storms come through the area. Then went to use the truck and when I went to start it up the truck would not turn over dead and had a strong smell plastic burning with the cargo light staying on . Check the circuit board under the hood and found that some of the fuses had melted . No other problem with the truck until now.
The reception for the radio is horrible in both fm and fm-hd. Gm supposedly has a reprogram for fm only but not hd. . .
The oil pressure gauge on my instrument cluster is faulty. I was driving down the interstate at about 75mph when I notice it was pegged out. I immediately pull off to the side of the road and turn my truck off thinking something was wrong with my oil pressure when I found out that it was the gauge that was faulty. After doing some research on the internet, I found out that a lot of people were having problems with their instrument clusters.
