While driving my 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ltz with a 5. 3 liter motor the rpm of the engine act erratic, it will increase and decrease rpm at will, I would say that it surges about 75 to 150 rpm, it especially does this going uphill. It is unsafe to be driving a vehicle that acts in this manner because you can't control the way you want to drive, I took it back to the dealer and they are trying to convince me that this is normal, which I know it is not normal, gm needs to figure this out and correct the problem.

On Monday October 5, 2015, I was driving truck at approximately 60 mph on highway when suddenly all electronics went black and complete loss of power on highway. Luckily, I was able to pull of to side of road. I turned the key to off position (engine was not running) and waited several minutes then turned truck on and it started. The traction light kept coming on and off but the truck did not loose power again-thankfully. I could have been killed or caused a serious accident.

I purchased a brand new 2015 chevy Silverado and in the first week I had it, while driving, the truck just simply completely shut off. Dealer claims they have never heard of this and after keeping truck for days stated could not find any issues. About one month later remotes not working and truck warning that emergency brake is on even though it was released. Could not get to register that emergency brake was off and while driving none of the turn signals were working as to truck warning to pull over due to vehicle emergency brake was on. I have only made one payment on this new vehicle and truck has already been in shop 2x . I need your help, please as dealer not helping me and I do not feel safe in this truck. I should not have to worry about it turning of or anything else as to being a brand new vehicle. I have attempted to speak with several managers and one just stated to me" that is why you have warranty and just keep eye on it. " since all this I have searched on the internet, and discovered that this has happened with other Silverados. . Ed bozart Chevrolett still claims no knowledge of this. Please help me. I feel this is potential accident issue. The first issued happened while driving on craig road which could have been really bad as this is a 45 mph road, luckily it was a weekend and not busy. I don't know what else to do. Spending over $40,000 on this truck not expecting to feel unsafe while driving.

While merging onto the express way I had a major loss of power and a slight shake in my Silverado. Multiple engine lights came on (stability track, traction control, and blinking engine light). On my way to the nearest gm dealer, at every stop light the truck lacked power to get going when the peddle was pushed, then it would kick in and screech the tires. After leaving the truck at the dealer, I receive phone call from the dealer the following day stating that the lifter (afm lifter) had malfunctioned and was stuck. I asked what causes this (because my truck only has about 39,700 miles on it), and the dealer stated it was "an issue with the design of the engine. " I then researched the internet (gm forums, social media, NHTSA) to find out that this is a huge issue. Many owners had the bad lifter replaced under warranty, only to have a different lifter go bad. I decided to have the dealer replace all my lifters, because that is what they recommended and they admitted there is a good chance I would be back in for the same issue on the other lifters if I didn't replace them. The dealer contacted gm to see if any of my repair could be covered under the powertrain warranty because I only have 39,700 miles on it, but my truck was 8 years old so they said they wouldn't. I contact gm to see if I could directly get anything covered seeing I only had 39,700 miles, plus bought an extended warranty that just expired last year. I was transferred through 5 different representatives that all admitted that the lifter failure is "an issue, but not a recall. " if they know its an issue, the dealers know its an issue, its a extremely common issue all across the internet, why wont gm take care of it? my Silverado cost over $45,000 when new, you think it should last well over 100,000 miles with no engine problems.

Use this truck for commercial purposes to haul trailers. Truck has turned off while driving 4 times. Three while driving with trailer when it hits rough road or under construction road and takes hard jolt to front end. First you are driving, then you hit bump or dip in road and you notice you have no steering, when you look down you notice whole display is shut down ( like it was never on) with no warning lights displayed. You have to put truck into neutral while driving and restart. Last time it happened had 30 foot trailer on truck and were in a downhill position with a turn and no steering capability ( no antilock or trailer brakes because they need electricity to operate)and 300 ft from going off embankment and then dropping 100ft into a gully. The trucks whole electrical system turns off shutting down everything in the truck. Own 7 trucks and have owned 20 plus trucks over the years. I have had design flaw issues and just fluke issues that just happen to that one truck. This really seems more like a design flaw, either in ignition with their new keys ( have a 2012, this ignition is defiantly different) or the electrical system, or maybe they added some sensor that shuts truck off if in a front end impact. If I am right this will kill someone, the truck gives you no warning before turning off and most people are unaware they can shift a car into neutral and restart while driving and since it has happened while pulling trailers this is very dangerous not just for the driver and passages of the vehicle but every other car or truck on the roadway with it. Example of this, the last time when we could not steer and could not go with the turn of the road, there was a car in the second lane and the trailer went into that lane, the car had to make evasive manuviers to avoid impact with trailer.

This is the 10th time this has happened, and 3rd time the vehicle has entered the service center. Own a 2015 chevy Silverado 1500 crew cab z71, and when attempting to start the vehicle, it does not turn over, indicating that there is a theft deterrent issue. The first time the dealer was unable to replicate the issue or error code. The second time several error codes were present, which the dealer reset. This appeared to fix the issue, until 1 month later the issue presented itself again. The vehicle is currently with the dealer on it's third repair attempt. This can be very unsafe for a vehicle since in an emergency need the vehicle could be incapable of being driven.

This is the second of three fatal collisions investigated this year by my office involving Chevrolet pickups that caught fire after being involved in frontal collisions. We were making a stop at the light , when a 18-wheeler didn't stop and hit us in the back ,pushing us towards the bus that was in front of us , making the glass of the back break and throwing all the crystals in our body and clothes ,the air bags never open , the front seats were broken and 3 of the 4 doors couldn't close anymore, the driver tried to make a move to the left or right , but he could not , because we were stuck, when we realize there were no major injury, we stayed until the red cross came to check our condition,but there were crystals everywhere so we couldn't move without hurting ourselves. After sitting for two days, I went out to start my 2015 Chevrolet Silverado to drive to town and it was dead - no power, lights, horn, ignition, nothing. The vehicle was absolutely stone cold dead. Having two decades in the car restoration business, I grabbed my battery charger and hooked it up and charged the battery for 4 hours. Attempting to start the Silverado again resulted in the same thing - stone cold dead. I swapped the batteries to no avail. The vehicle still wasn't powering up. I looked for blown fuses, loose connectors, all with negative results. I had the truck towed to the dealer 106 miles away. The next day the dealer advised it started right up after a jump start. My reply was that is simply incorrect and I repeated the steps I went through. They replied they wished to keep it for a few days. Ultimately I had to trade the vehicle because the dealership stated the truck wasn't designed to operate in a dusty environment. My reply was that I bought it to use on my ranch and they knew that to begin with. They advised the dust permeated the body control module, engine control module, and human interface and today's trucks simply are designed for that.

I was driving my 2010 chevy Silverado on I-675 and truck experienced immediate engine power loss, speed automatically reduced to 20 miles per hour and engine light w/ engine reduced power verbiage alerted on display. First of three vehicle collisions this year involving Chevrolet Silverados that have caught fire after involved in frontal impacts. Vehicle traveling westbound on sr 58 in lane county, oregon. Involved in secondary collision with a Toyota pickup truck that had been struck by a loose truck tractor wheel. The impact by the wheel caused the Toyota to encroach into the path of the Chevrolet. The occupants of Chevrolet were able to extricate themselves. The vehicle subsequently caught fire and suffered extensive fire damage.

Cylinder 4 misfire code which lead dealer to diagnose a bad lifter with cam damage, new piston rings needed, entire engine needed to be replaced. Cost $7,000 + afm contributed to problem in this model year per service department. Truck never hauled, or plowed with. Regular oil changes and maintenance done on time for entire ownership.

After stopping at a repair facility no obd codes appeared and on restart vehicle operated normally. A second incident occurred in late February while turning a corner. Same symtoms but at much more dangerous location.

While driving to work in heavy traffic, my 2010 Chevrolet Silverado with 27,000 mile suddenly lost power and slowed from 50mph to 25mph in a matter of seconds. Due to the extreme reduction in speed with out my brake lights being engaged, a vehicle following me had to make an emergency maneuver, turn in the right lane, and almost struck a third vehicle. Three warning messages were given that included, engine power reduced, traction control off and service stabilitrack. The vehicle started to run extremely rough and I pulled into a parking lot. While in the parking, lot I researched the above listed messages and found that several other owners have experienced the same problem that has been linked to the throttle body system and the intake. I then researched if any recalls have been issued for this vehicle. I found that a service bulletin was issued but not a recall. I was also surprised that this issue appears to have nothing to due with stabilitrack. I then limped the vehicle home at 20 mph. When the vehicle would shift from first to second gear it would lung forward violently. I later called the pitre GMC, in albuquerque nm, and spoke with a service representative. I asked him if a recalled had been issued for these vehicles in reference to this type of incident. He stated that he did not know of a recall but I could drive it down to their service department and they could check the codes on it. I was surprised by his response instructing me to drive an unsafe vehicle. I believe this issue needs to be addressed due to the likelihood of a motor vehicle crash that could result in sever injury or death. Hopefully gm and NHTSA will not wait until there are numerous deaths to address this problem. This is potentially as dangerous as the ignition switch issue that killed several people. I am a generational Chevrolet consumer, but that will probably change.

Vehicle has difficulty starting with key after sitting for 6-8 hours. Problem is less frequent when using factory remote start. Starter will engage, but engine response is sluggish. Sometimes engine will not turn over at all, other times the engine engages, but does so very rough and continues with a rough idle for about 1 minute. Once running, the engine performs as normal and subsequent starts are generally smooth and trouble-free.

Driving down i25 in colorado truck simply quit running was able to restart after pulling over to side of hwy. Has happened multiple times since, often twice a day, one or two time going to work and the same going home. Very often the truck restarts right away, but sometimes it has to set for several minutes before it will restart. The engine quitting problem has happened at various speeds from hwy speeds to slow city driving. It has also happened at times when leaving a stop light or stop sign.

I have the castech heads on my truck that are known for getting cracks in them and leaking anitifreeze into the engine. The way it sounds there should of been a recall on these heads, this isn't a normal wear and tear deal. Why should the consumer pay for the cost of replacing something that obviously is a manufacturer defect since more than just one person is complaining. It seems like also that gm has helped a few people and then told others that they can't help.

Driving towing a travel trailer. Felt a vibration. Pulled over and nothing visible. Resumed but engine had no power. 30 mph max speed. Called onstar and they could find no codes. Tried to continue but no engine power beyond 30 mph. . Called onstar again and this time they identified 2 codes. Dropped trailer at a church parking lot. Truck now in reduced power mode and leaking liquid. Arrived at a dealer who identified problem as return fuel line had become disconnected. They reconnected and truck ran normally. Approximately 20 gallons of diesel fuel had leaked during this 8 mile ordeal.

Drove 15 miles to store. Shopped. Started home engine knight came on. Tcl light staying on and truck shaking will barely run.

2014 Silverado shakes at various speeds. Has been a problem since the date of purchase and have been told by the dealership that there was nothing they could do to fix it. There have been complaints of this happening on the vehicle dating back to oct. 2013, gm has been aware that the vehicle shakes and that has not been a recall issued. Dealerships are still selling the truck knowing that there has been numerous problems reported.

On acceleration from a stop, the rpm's race while shifting. Vehicle acts as if the transmission is slipping from 1-2. Early in the life of the vehicle I thought this was only something that happened the first time shifting after pulling out of the garage however, as the truck gets more miles on it, the problem happens more often and when taking off from stops when hot. Vehicle was brought to dealer to diagnose complaint and was told there was a bulletin to address this problem but since the tech couldn't verify it, they didn't do anything. Dealer said I have a good powertrain warranty so if something breaks later I should be covered. Not only is this unprofessional and poor customer service, they literally did nothing to attempt to diagnose or confirm the problem. There seems to be numerous complaints on this site related to rpm racing complaints.

I pulled out of a parking lot on to a city street and pressed the gas pedal a little, planning to get up to about 25 mph because there was a red light a block away. The truck responded as if I had floored the pedal. I took my foot off of the pedal and the truck kept accelerating at full throttle. I hit the brakes thinking the cruise control had gone nuts, but hitting the brakes would not turn it off. It kept accelerating with the tach over 5000. I shifted to neutral and the engine speed dropped down to idle. The light turned green and I shifted back to drive and the engine immediately started accelerating again at full throttle. I put it back in neutral, moved over to the shoulder and turned the key off. Then I started the engine again and the problem disappeared. I'm 72; if my wife had been driving by herself, she probably would have had a serious wreck. The truck is a 2014 Silverado, bought 4 weeks ago, 6 cylinder work truck.

I bought a brand new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1 week ago today. The vehicle was delivered 2 days ago. The Chevrolet dealer did not inform me of the recall for possible engine fire. I checked my VIN number online and it showns that my vehicle has been recalled about a month ago and it still has a warning for not being serviced as per Chevrolet and NHTSA websites. Basically, the Chevrolet dealer sold me a new vehicle on recall against the company policy, document dcs3115 (notice to dealers), as posted on this website . Th dealer did not inform me if there was any reprogramming done as required by the manufacturer. I called the general sales manager who knows my vehicle today and he did not know about the recall at all and stated he get back to me . According to gm customer care and aftersales on your website , all Chevrolet and gm dealers were sent and urgent stop delivery order on January 10, 2014 addressed to the dealer, general mangers, new vehicle sales managers and service managers to stop selivery of the Chevrolet Silverado and to reprogram them prior to sales. In the mean time I am stuck with this vehicle and do not know whether it was serviced or whether it is at risk of catching fire. This has shown lack of confidence in Chevrolet and its local dealer in communication, trust, and confidence. It has placed me and my family at risk. It has violated their responsibility of disclosure to the customer and has been negligent in its policies and protocol in the handling of recall as mandated by its customer policies gm customer care dsc3115 and us department of transportation NHTSA motor vehicle safety title 49, united states code chapter 301 of may 2013, office of the chief counsel. Please investigate .

Driving on i10 heading to houston, the entire truck completely shut down, and then turned back on, this again happend 02/2014. . . . The whole truck shut down , thank god the wheels did not lock up or we would have been killed both times. It is at the dealers . . . Freedom chevy san antonio TX. . . . Something is bad on the truck. . . Like playing with a light switch. . . The dash, every insturment shut off both times, now I am worried that it will happen again, and I can not afford another truck. I thought that the 1st time was just a fluk, but when it did it again, I know now somthing is not right and is very dangerous for me and my little girl. . .
