Interior Rearview Mirror Problems of Chevrolet Silverado

2014 Chevrolet Silverado. Consumer writes in regards to serious issue with lights on the climate control knobs. The consumer stated at night, the lights on the climate control knobs would reflect in the rear window and bounce back into the inside mirror making it impossible to see anything in the inside rear view mirror.

Recall campaign 03v093000 concerning rear view mirror switch: consumer stated the automatic lock failed to operate after recall repairs were performed. Notified the dealer, who informed the consumer that the problem had nothing to do with the recall. Consumer stated that the vehicle was not experiencing any problem with the automatic lock until this repair was done. When auto was taken back the desk service manager took a look at vehicle and said the button was sticking. Which was causing both doors not to lock. Which had never been a problem before until afterwards, they told the consumer the button needed replacement.

The interior rearview mirror has a distortion problem. Only in the middle of the mirror is the view clear. But when the view is in the top part or bottom part of the mirror, the distortion takes place. The distortion is in the form of seeing double vision. The best way to notice this is at night when another vehicle is no closer than 100 feet behind you and you look at it through the interior rearview mirror. Put that vehicle's headlights at the top and at the bottom part of the mirror and you will see four headlights instead of two headlights. Even in the daytime, if you look closely at the vehicle behind you, you will see a double image of its roof via a faint line. I have replaced my mirror at the dealership, but the second one is even worse. I filed a complaint with gm quality customer service. I know of another 2002 chevy Silverado owner who also has the same problem. This problem probably exists on most of them. If you have any questions, please call me. Right rear view mirror only comes in flat glass. Because it is flat, consumer can't see anything behind . Also, can't even see to make a lane change. Contacted dealer, and dealer insists nothing they can do .
