This braking failure occurred in conditions that the abs is specifically designed to prevent loss of control!.

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 11/14/2019

I've noticed since the first month of owner ship back in 2018, that something was wrong with my transmission. I own a 2017 chevy Silverado with the 8 speed transmission. Not only had it been discouraging, it's disturbing, and possibly even unsafe. From 1st to 2nd gear there is a hard shift in the transmission. And the same problem is from 2nd to 1st gear. The vehicle makes a loud clunk and it jerks simultaneously. The fact I spent $50,000 on this truck brand new and have got nowhere with the problem is outrageous. I always believe it is a safety concern, because the vehicle will move it radically. When I brought it to my dealership they said it was left in 4 wheel drive ridiculous lies. And if that was the case why did they update the transmission computer. regardless, all of these problems from gm have been swept under the rug. The problem has never stopped. I've gotten replies from service representatives at the dealership saying they all do that or it's fine so tired of getting nowhere. Gm should be replacing every single 8 speed transmission. I am worried that my transmission will fail at any time. New vehicles should not drive like this.

4 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 11/30/2018

A rough clunk noise occurs when trying to stop, and car actually revs to accelerate speed when applying breaking and trying to stop. (in . Motion) this is a dangerous issue. Transmission does not appear to smoothly enter into subsequent gears. A jerk occurs in between shifting of gears. (moving) I have been completely stopped on a flat street, and relax my foot off the break, and the car wants to leap jump forward. This is not safe. (stopped) there are several reports of this issue found in online forums from other owners with the same 2017 chevy Silverado. Just purchased vehicle in November.

5 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 11/05/2015

While driving my 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ltz with a 5. 3 liter motor the rpm of the engine act erratic, it will increase and decrease rpm at will, I would say that it surges about 75 to 150 rpm, it especially does this going uphill. It is unsafe to be driving a vehicle that acts in this manner because you can't control the way you want to drive, I took it back to the dealer and they are trying to convince me that this is normal, which I know it is not normal, gm needs to figure this out and correct the problem.

6 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 08/29/2015

I purchased a brand new 2015 chevy Silverado and in the first week I had it, while driving, the truck just simply completely shut off. Dealer claims they have never heard of this and after keeping truck for days stated could not find any issues. About one month later remotes not working and truck warning that emergency brake is on even though it was released. Could not get to register that emergency brake was off and while driving none of the turn signals were working as to truck warning to pull over due to vehicle emergency brake was on. I have only made one payment on this new vehicle and truck has already been in shop 2x . I need your help, please as dealer not helping me and I do not feel safe in this truck. I should not have to worry about it turning of or anything else as to being a brand new vehicle. I have attempted to speak with several managers and one just stated to me" that is why you have warranty and just keep eye on it. " since all this I have searched on the internet, and discovered that this has happened with other Silverados. . Ed bozart Chevrolett still claims no knowledge of this. Please help me. I feel this is potential accident issue. The first issued happened while driving on craig road which could have been really bad as this is a 45 mph road, luckily it was a weekend and not busy. I don't know what else to do. Spending over $40,000 on this truck not expecting to feel unsafe while driving.

I was going north when a vehicle suddenly stopped in front of me. I braked as quickly as possible, the 2014 chevy Silverado that I was driving only slowly came to a stop. Unfortunately, I rearended another vehicle. Thankfully I had not gotten up to the speed limit (30mph) and was only going 20mph. My truck would not brake quickly. No screeching tires, no black marks on the road. The stop was so slow that I had time to turn the steering wheel and only damage part of my front end. The grill, bumper, and hood were smashed in. No airbags came out of the truck, and my onstar service sensor did not go off.

16 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 01/30/2014

2014 Chevrolet Silverado. Consumer writes in regards to malfunction of pedal adjustment. The consumer stated the cargo light button and pedal adjustment button did not work, only a day after purchasing the vehicle. The consumer and her husband then decided to take a drive. When her husband put the truck in reverse, and like he always did, he slowly took his foot off the brake, and let the truck idle backwards. However, when he did, the brake pedal immediately adjusted up for a very short person and the accelerator pedal went to the floor, and the vehicle shot out of the garage very fast. The consumer was informed both pedals adjusted together, but that wasn't the way it seemed. He immediately tried to hit the brake, but it was adjusted up so high, he couldn't get his foot on it, until they were almost through the carport and the vehicle struck one of the steel posts of the carport, doing several thousands dollars of damage. The next morning, the vehicle was towed to the dealer, for an inspection. The next day, the dealer called, stating they were unable to find a problem. Also, the navigation system would not save an address. Updated 03/27/14.

17 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 01/28/2014

Driving about 60 mph about 10 miles into the trip when the truck lost speed, the abs brakes did a slight on and off pulsating every couple of seconds, the engine was running rough and giving it gas the engine revved up but wouldn't go anywhere. Speed dropped down to 35 or 40 mph and wouldn't go any faster. The dash indicator showed messages stating stabilitrak traction control turned off and check engine light is on. It jolted real hard when it shifts gears. When I mashed the brake it didn't want to come to a complete stop without pressing the brakes to hold the truck there. I pulled into a store popped the hood and finding nothing I turned the truck off for a few seconds and restarted it but nothing changed and the error messages were still being displayed. The trucks engine was running rough. I headed home and it didn't have any power and jolted hard as it shifted gears. I coudln't go but 35 or 40 mph on the level ground. If I went up a slight hill the truck slowed down more until I got past the hill. I gave it gas and the engine would rev up but had no power and wouldn't go 35 or 40 mph. I parked the truck in the garage and in 10 minutes I went to start it to get the error messages and it started up fine and the engine wasn't running rough. I drove it 1/2 mile down the road and back and it ran perfect. I googled the error messages and found alot of complaints and comments about this issue on the Chevrolet forum website. No recall information just alot of people experiencing the same issue and alot worse cases that almost caused accidents. Is there a recall on this issue? I read that I will probably have the issue again because after it sits for 10 min it probably won't have a problem until a few minutes or days later. I can only hope doesn't cause me to have a wreck and kill myself or someone else. This is a major issue and should be recalled to fix the problem.

20 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 09/02/2013

The forward collision alert system is not safe. I have had this go off on me over 100 times in 25,000 miles and almost causing an accident a few times. The led on the dash will flash and the seat will vibrate causing you to react thinking you are getting ready to hit something. This occurs in 3 situations: 1) approaching an underpass while the sun is shining into the windshield, which is daily for me during my commute. 2) in a lane on the highway closest to the barrier wall, it thinks you are going to hit it head on I guess. 3) on a 2 lane side road with approaching cars are the are passing by on your drivers side. I have not been able to detect if this is due to the sunshine or head lights. So this causes a major alert reaction to you each time, this is a big safety issue as a reaction to nothing but alerts can cause an accident in itself.

21 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 07/28/2013

Transmission down shifts multiple gears when I decelerate. The first occurrence happened at 70 mph causing a very hard deceleration and near loss of control of the truck. I have had three other like incidences at speeds between 45 and 70 mph. These happened on dry pavement and I was able to slow safely. Had this occurred on wet or snow covered roads, I have no doubt there would have been an accident. 2 . At times when I accelerate there is no throttle response for several seconds. When the engine does respond, the truck accelerates as if I have the throttle floored. Again this has happened on dry pavement. Slick conditions would have caused a spin out. 3. Vehicle surges between 20 and 45 mph. Engine rpm continually jumps 200-300 rpm causing constant surging. Besides being very annoying, it would be dangerous on icy roads.

22 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 06/07/2013

Truck comes to scretching haltwith motor running but wont go, door locks and all gagues going up and down a 100 mile an hour. Sometimes everything dead and all of a sudden it comes back on. Air comes and goes. All lights flash. Those uprandom codes. No warning its going to happen. Radio will start playing very load cant shut off. When it does this it sometimes lunges forward aboit twenty feet and may run fine or do it again. Went to dealer truck stayed 2 months. Said they fixed. Few months later started again, next dealer said they couldnt find anything. Contacted gm on both incidents. Nothing happened.

23 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 06/07/2013

I purchased a 2005 chevy Silverado in late 2010 from a chevy dealer (tom clark Chevrolet in mckeesport, PA). Approximately June 7, 2013, my speedometer went crazy sticking on 0, 100, or 120 . . . Regardless of my speed. I contacted the dealer Monday June 10, 2013 and was told to bring it in for them to look at it. I took my vehicle in to tom clark at 7:55 a. M. On Tuesday June 11, 2013 and received a phone call from them at approximately 8:45 a. Telling me that the issue is the cluster and he agreed that this issue is the exact issue that was raised in the gm lawsuit but still told me that they would not fix the problem. (I only became aware of the gm lawsuit over the weekend of June 7, 2013, while searching the internet to try and find out what could be wrong with my vehicle). He then informed me that they wouldn't fix it because the warranty/recall expired last year (2012), so he does acknowledge that a problem exists and has existed. I purchased this vehicle after all the issues with them surfaced and a lawsuit had actually taken place and they sold me this truck, knowing there was a problem and didn't inform me of the problem. Now they are telling me that it will cost $550. 00 to fix it. My vehicle has 49,809 miles on it, it's a third vehicle that's hardly ever used and there is no excuse for the dishonest practices of tom clark where this matter is concerned. They sold me a vehicle with a defective part, while a lawsuit was either pending or had been resolved, and still failed to inform me of the problem. Now they want me to pay $550. 00 to fix what they already knew was wrong.

24 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 1998 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 04/01/2013

The contact owns a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado. One year ago while driving approximately 45 mph the vehicle lunged forward, began to accelerate and respond as if it were a standard vehicle. The failure occurred intermittently; however, more recently it began to occur every time he drove the vehicle. When the failure occurred the vehicle lunged forward and was within one inch of a crash forcing the contact to apply the brake pedal with excessive force. The contact stated that the transmission/ccc solenoid does not disengage while releasing the accelerator pedal. All of the warning lights on the instrument panel were illuminated. A complaint was filed with the manufacturer; however, they did not offer or provide any assistance. The contact replaced every component in the transmission in order to correct the failure; however, the failure continued to occur. He was unable to drive the vehicle for two days due to the safety risk. The contact added an on/off switch that controlled the tcc solenoid. The failure was not diagnosed by the dealer. The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that while driving in first gear and taking the foot off the accelerator pedal to apply the brakes, the engine rpm's would not decrease and the throttle would not release for approximately 3-4 seconds. The failure caused abnormal forward movement from the vehicle. The contact also stated that while driving in first gear and shifting into neutral, the engine rpm's increased by approximately 200 ripens before decreasing. The vehicle was diagnosed at the dealer but the cause of the defect could not be determined. The contact stated that a representative from the manufacturer came to the home and drove the vehicle. The representative experienced the defect while driving the vehicle but did not identify the cause of the defect. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 20. Updated 03/11/lj the consumer stated by the time his foot reached the brake pedal, the engine was holding a constant 1400 rpm, resulting in not only trying to slow the mass of the vehicle, but also attempting to brake against an engine locked at 1400 rpm. 32 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2008 Chevrolet Silverado

Failure Date: 01/11/2012

The cab to operator communucation started slowly diminishing. Eventually all audible beeps, dings and music on the left side of the cab were shutoff. The speed control cruise was not activation, but the button would light up. Currently the left side of the truck, in the cab, is out of power. I am concerned, does this affect the air bag system too? the truck does a self diagnostics monthly and no issues were noted, but they were obvious issues that a diagnostic should have picked up a noteable change. The lighting issue I experienced were with each taillight. I would randomly blow tail light bulds. A closer look showed corrsion and obvious shorting, but no fuse was faulted. Buld was burned at the connectors. Further review it was noticed taht each tail light had water in the bottom. Traveling cased the water to short out and damage the bulb, leaving me with no rear lighting randomly. I have since drilled holes in the bottom of each tail light as there is not way to remove the moisture. I have also inspected the bulb seals and find they are firmly pressing on to the sealing surfaces, which are clean and free from road dust and grime. . . Plus they are hidden inside the body of the truck. In summary, I would like to receive some level of detail regarding the electrical issue, focusing on how it can be repaired. Regarding the lighting, this is concerning and should be a consideration for risk assessment during design.
