The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. While driving in inclement weather conditions, water entered the air filter and caused the vehicle to decelerate to approximately 5 mph. The contact heard a loud rattling noise and the engine light illuminated on the instrument control panel. The vehicle stalled and then automatically restarted five minutes later. He took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that they would have to modify the entire intake system by removing the sensor from the filter to the engine. The service manager stated that he did not believe the modification would resolve the failure, but was obligated by the manufacturer to perform the repair. The vehicle is currently being repaired. The failure and current mileages were 16,000.
