Truck has less than. 30k miles on it. Went into limp mode, was less than a mile from home. Parked it had it towed to nearest dealer. They then informed me they have 4 other truck sitting and waiting for gm to fix parts with allison 10 speed transmission valve body. Dealer says it is at least 4 month wait to get my truck back. I work out of this truck for my business, and still have to pay my $1260 truck payment monthly for a truck that I can't use. Then they tell me they cant give me a loaner truck, only a car that I have to pay out of pocket daily for since chevy only covers $44 a day and cheapest rental is at $50 a day. I cant move trailers and equipment with a car. Gm knows there is a problem with these transmissions and won't do anything about it. I bought new thinking I'd be doing okay with extra warranty, but here we are with no real solution. Please help!!!.

Have had issues since purchase of paint chipping severely / cloudy. Transmission shudder and “jumped forward” when coming to a stop. Lighting system “blinked” or went dark and come back up a few seconds later while driving.
While driving the truck it will have a hash upshift which has happened on five different occasions plus on two other occasions after first startup and drive the transmission will not shift out of third gear it will just wind up the rpm's as if transmission is stuck in third gear. I have to let off throttle then accelerate and back-off a couple of times to get transmission to shift out of third gear. The software upgrade is not a fix for this recall as it does not address the problem. The valve body installed in these ten speed transmission is a manufactures design flaw along with using inferior parts required for the safe operation of this vehicle. There are documented claims of the valve body failing causing catastrophic failure of the entire transmission and gm corporation will only cover the valve body. Gm has told it's customers that they will warranty the vb only that the other damages are not covered. The recall letter I receiver indicates that only the vb is covered. This is unacceptable. It is because of the vb failure that the transmission will suffered catastrophic failure, without a properly functioning vb the transmission cannot receive the lubrication it needs to function properly. I have not had the software update as their are reports of customers trucks going into limp mode shortly afterwards. Their trucks are then parked on dealer lots as parts are currently unavailable for weeks at a time in some cases months. These customers use these truck for their livelihood and they invested a large amount of money purchasing these trucks only to be told so sorry gm will not cover your claim even through it was our defective vb that destroyed your transmission. These trucks are not cheap to purchase nor to properly maintain.

The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Truck would downshift hard coming of exit or slowing down. This would sometimes lunge you forward into the seatbelt causing it to catch. The transmission would also shift hard moving up to interstate speed between 50-60mph. The dealership has determined that the valve body has failed in the transmission.

Def tank heater. I had one replaced @ 24k and another replaced 47k.
In certain GMC and Chevrolet models 2019 to 2025 it is common knowledge and easily found on the web that there is a manufacturer defect that does not allow the vehicle to be placed in “park” properly due to defective parts in the steering column that do not allow the vehicle to safely turn off fully. The module does not seat and the vehicle will remain on in auxiliary. Https://m. Youtube. Com/watch?v=rtcx-j3r5oq . Again the link is an example but this defect is rampant.
The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated while her husband was hauling a trailer and driving 55 mph in the snow, the vehicle lost power steering functionality. In addition, the contact stated the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal before slamming into gear. The rpm fluctuated up to 6,500 rpm. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact's husband was able to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle was turned off but failed to restart. The contact's husband stepped out of the vehicle, and the vehicle restarted automatically. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the wiring was for a diesel vehicle; however, the contact's vehicle was gasoline operated. The contact was informed that the wiring harness control arm had rubbed against the control arm, causing the electrical system to short-circuit. The vehicle was repaired. The failure had progressively gotten worse. Most recently, the contact stated that the vehicle vibrated abnormally while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was found. The contact stated that a seal was placed on the transmission. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but denied assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
The current recall for the defective transmission valve does not address the safety issue with the vehicle. This a known issue with the truck and the transmission valve should be replaced rather than simply monitoring it. My safety and the vehicles I share the road may be at risk if the software upgrade limits the drivability while pulling a trailer on interstate highways. The life span of this vehicle is well beyond the allotted 150,000 miles of coverage and to not extend this "special coverage" beyond the original owner makes this a safety hazard to future owners of the vehicle as wellupgrade . Gm is calling the software a "service correction" when in reality they are making no correction, just monitoring the problem.
Drove to a residence to make a delivery. Turned truck back on and went to back out of driveway and the truck started shaking very violently and could not turn truck right or left. Chevrolet technician is stating the power steering pump fell apart sending metal through engine.
See attached document for complaint.
Whining noise from engine or powertrain, seems to have lost some power.

The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Transmission lock-up while driving. Rear end of vehicle jumped up felt like I was rear ended. If this happened at higher speed or when towing it could cause serious injury to myself or others. The problem is well known by the dealers and gm manufacturing, they have recalled over 400000 trucks with this issue years 2020 to 2022 and yet they are still installing the faulty control bodies in the transmission of the 2023 to 2025 models. No warning messages, there was some shifting issues just before the lock-up.
Vehicle gives "shift to park" warning when already in park. Occasionally, vehicle will not shut off. Once it does shut off, dash lights and controls do not shut off. Vehicle will not lock upon exit. Warning lights and beeping causes battery to drain. I have been left stranded with dead battery twice.

When shifting into park and turning ignition off a message appears on dash saying to “shift to park”. Vehicle will shut off but will not then shift, nor will steering will lock and ignition will not shut off. It is unclear if vehicle is actually in park mode. Vehicle has to be left running for up to several hours before transmission recognizes that it is in park and then ignition will turn off correctly. This issue has been experienced by many Chevrolet owners. Issue has been reported to gm.
At only 71,000 miles the 6l90 transmission had to be replaced in my silverado because of slippage in fifth, sixth and heavy metal shaving showing in the pan. I have never plowed with this truck or abused the transmission. I've only towed up to 7,000 lbs which is well within specifications. As I continue to talk with other owners of the 6l90 and various mechanics, it has become evident that this particular transmission has a very high failure rate. Unfortunately the core to the failed transmission has already been returned, but what if something major internally failed that locked up the drivetrain and caused an accident? my mechanic john portal has replaced several 6l90's with multiple types of failures. The only warning I received from the transmission was an engine light which only appeared after the transmission started to fail.
I bought a new 2024 hd2500 with the 10 speed allison. My truck is 1. 5 years old with 8,900 miles on it. About 50% of its life I tow a 5,000 lb travel trailer. My valve module went out on it. The truck went into "limp" mode. Would run (very noisy) but would not move in either gear. Its been disabled at the chevy dealer for 9 weeks. No eta on a part. The internet is loaded with issues related to the 10 speed transmission being distributed by chevy. Action by the NHTSA recommended. I live in a small town. There were 2 of the same trucks brought in a couple days ahead of mine and 8 more after my truck. All with the same problem. 2024 model year. The service manager at the dealer where I bought my truck at ( a larger town) told me there were too many of these failures for him to count. I'm dealing with gm. [xxx] customer service. And I filed a claim with the bbb auto line to go to arbitration with gm to hopefully get a buy back or a replacement. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
So the electrical would be when I shut my truck off in park I cannot turn my key completely back to release the key so therefore I’m killing my battery leaving the power on as far as the tires they’re rated for 50 or 55,000 miles I have 37,000 miles and I have no tread left and as far as my drivetrain when accelerating onto a highway pulling my fifth wheel camper that is 16,000 pounds loaded the truck box really bad as far as the crash warning breaking system it does not break.

The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated while driving 55-60 mph, the rear wheels seized. The contact had to release the accelerator pedal to self-correct the failure. The contact stated that the failure occurred twice. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 24v797000 (power train); but was repaired. The contact stated while driving 25-30 mph after the repair, the failure reoccurred a third time. The check engine warning light illuminated and the “engine power reduced” message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, Chevrolet of montebello (310 w whittier blvd, montebello, CA 90640); but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was 122,000.
I crossed over the west bound lanes and turned left in the east bound lanes and under slight acceleration when my truck started jerking as if I was braking/accelerating back and forth. My diesel engine then went into limp mode and my transmission was stuck in a low gear and would not shift. I could only drive approximately 20 mph at 3000rpm. The people coming up behind me had to slow down because I couldn't pull over.
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle briefly jerked and then jolted. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure; however, the contact was informed that the power train control module was reset. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 50.
This vehicle has a severe transmission shift issue that will likely cause an accident at some point. This vehicle has an allison 10 speed transmission and began shifting extremely hard or violently from 7th to 8th gear in November of 2023. This problem began when pulling a travel trailer that is weight rated well below the capacity of this truck. This hard shift causes vehicle occupants to lunge during the event and it is feared that a catastrophic failure will occur, resulting in a vehicle accident. The vehicle was taken to the dealership where purchased as it is still under manufacturer’s warranty, and in March of 2024 the dealership performed a software update and transmission “re-learn” which solved the issue until the truck was used to pull a travel trailer again. The issue returned in November of 2024. The truck was returned to the dealership for follow up but the dealership has not taken any further action to resolve the problem at this time. There is a service bulletin (n242467600) issued from gm that seems related to this vehicle but I’ve received no notification that this vehicle is eligible for transmission replacement under this service bulletin. This issue will likely result in a personal injury or vehicle accident at some point.

The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 24v797000 (power train); however, the dealer had not called the contact back despite multiple calls to request an appointment. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the recall remedy was a software update to limit the transmission and power output. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
I have a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd diesel truck. Twice while driving uphill the transmission seemed to lock up with a very “jerky” move. Gm has acknowledged this problem and has issued a recall. I have taken my truck and have had the recall “remedy” performed. However, this remedy is a band aid not a solution. The remedy/recall is only reprogramming the computer that controls the transmission to warn the driver that the problem is about to occur and will limit the speed of the vehicle to not exceed the fifth gear until the problem is repaired. I feel the transmission issue should be addressed in the recall not delayed until the issue re-occurs. As per a letter I received from gm the repair that’s needed is special coverage n232395330 is the replacement of transmission valve body.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated while driving 45 mph and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road and the vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it remained for two months, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was then towed to john elway Chevrolet (5200 s broadway, englewood, CO 80113), to be repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 24v797000(power train); however, after three months, the dealer informed the contact that the recall repair would not be honored because the emission system had been removed from the vehicle. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was towed to patterson custom diesel, where the vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 27,000.
Traveling 70mph on parkway, out of nowhere, the rpm start revving like the transmission had shifted into neutral, but it is still in drive. Managed to get off at next exit allowing the truck to coast. At stop sign, the truck slams into first, slams into second, reaches 30mph and begins to do same problem and rpm’s rev like in neutral. Can not get the truck to go over 30mph of change any more gears. We did manage to take a 15 min ride to nearby chevy dealer. Dealer has confirmed no codes or check engine lights. After 1 full week in, no further information has been provided except at some point next week, it’s on the schedule to open the transmission. Vehicle is now stuck in maryland. I did receive a rental to continue my way home that evening to SC.
