1 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 08/20/2019

Transmission seems to be slipping while in drive. Revs high but doesn't shift into gear nearly leaving me strained at an intersection after traffic light changed. Would struggle to get up to speed while shifting through the gears. I bought vehicle used with approximately 85k miles in April 2019 and previous owner had all the maintenance completed as required. The vehicle has roughly 90k miles on now. Vehicle has been sitting at chevy dealer in imlay city, michigan almost two weeks and they have yet to repair the vehicle. I've used this vehicle to tow my boat. When in reverse and backing boat into water at boat ramp I've applied the brakes and it seems to take a second or two for the brakes to react making it feel like the vehicle is still moving in reverse. Not sure if this an issue with the recent brake recall sept 2019 or transmission issues.

2 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe

3 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 02/08/2016

Tahoe 2015 LS transmission is slipping into neutral during acceleration from a stop sign/light after cycling through 1st and 2nd gear. SUV will slow down in traffic. It also auto shift into park like condition at traffic light and would not move forward. I had to place the shift lever into park and then back to drive to get the transmission to engage. It also kick hard when engaged. The SUV only has 5089 miles on it. I bought this SUV new from reliable Chevrolet in richardson, TX. Today the problem got worse. It now would not engage when I put it into reverse. I had to push the gas peddle more to increase the rpm to get the transmission to kick in. It then kick hard into reverse. I brought this SUV to my dealership to get it fix. They said they found nothing and return this SUV back to me. I have another major stop and no go transmission issue again today Feb 8, 2016. This time I have my teenage son with me and this really upset me. Someone could have hit me from behind since the road was a downhill run with a stop light. I am bringing it back to my reliable Chevrolet dealer in richardson, TX tomorrow Feb 9, 2016 and demand then to fix it. I am now afraid to drive my new truck. If the electronics of the transmission tells the mechanical parts to go into park position while cruising down the street, this will be a very bad outcome. Please tell mary barra to keep her promise no more crap car. This problem is going to hurt someone.

7 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Failure Date: 12/19/2007

On my new chevy Tahoe, 2007, the transmission has slipped several times (50+) over the last 20,000 miles. Each occurrence was minor and when mentioned to the dealer at normal service intervals was told was common for a truck (I. E. They are stiff when cold, can do that when you go around a corner, etc. ) this finally culminated with complete transmission failure while in traffic. The repair offered by chevy is to just replace the defective part with a like part that the mechanic believes is not different. Hence we swapped a failed defective part with the same design that I must assume will fail again! this is not a fix and only delays the inevitable once again. Maybe next time it will break when passing or out in the middle of no where? the gear is called a sprag gear and all the gm dealerships are silently aware of the problem.
