Service Brakes Problems of Chevrolet Trailblazer - part 2

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated while driving 20 mph and attempting to stop the vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard and the vehicle failed to come to a complete stop. After the failure, the "service esc" and "service power steering" messages were displayed. The contact stated that months later, upon starting the vehicle, the "shift to park" message was displayed and the vehicle failed to recognize that the shifter was still in park(p). The check engine and abs warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the braking system needed to be updated and that the gear shifter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 15,000.

While traveling down the road at approximatly 35-40 mph with my two minor children, the steering was not responding properly and the car kept attempting to veer to the right. I let off the gas to slow down since the brakes were also not seeming to respond well. Upon attempting to brake and execute a left hand turn, the car would not turn at all despite the steering wheel being as turned as far to the left as possible, the lights began flashing on the dashboard for "powersteering" esc warning. We ended up going through the intersection without stopping and narrowly missed another car in intersection and went completely off the road into a snowbank. Fortunately we were not injured. We drove the vehicle back home (approximately one mile) by overpowering the steering and manually forcing the car to stay on the road. Throughout the lane assist kept attempting to autocorrect and drive us off the road. The car was damaged by the impact and the mechanic said that the tie rod is bent and has no idea what could have caused this to happen. I am somehow now responsible for the situation. I have asked what caused the power steering to fail, and chevy claims that they have no record of any power steering issues (which research has shown to be untrue) and in order to determine if it failed and/or why, they need to make the repair and then run additional tests to re-create the issue. This car only has 21,000 miles on it, and has never been in an accident before this.

Popping sound from passenger side front speakers when releasing the brake pedal after a stop. Vehicle in drive.

2022 Trailblazer with approximately 21,000 miles on it. Cruise control fails to engage unless you put your foot behind the break pedal and pull the break pedal forward. This causes safety issues because a person thinks the cruise is engaged but it doesn't actually engage and causes a person to slow on the freeway. Driver also gets distracted trying to troubleshoot the issue because cruise fails to engage without an obvious reason for failure. The fix also causes the driver to operate the vehicle in an unsafe manner because they have to remove their foot from the correct position and place it behind the break pedal to fix the problem. This issue is highly reproducible and was lived with for approximately a year until the solution of pulling the break pedal towards the driver was discovered just last month. Dealer said the issue is nonexistent.

Check engine light keeps coming on. Hard shifting. Takes too long for brake to engage. Fuel injector replaced. This car is only 3 months into service.

My brakes squeal on occasion. At slow speeds when stopping the brake pedal goes soft. The SUV pulls to the left slightly and a metal on metal sound begins to emit from the drivers side braking system. The sound changes to something I can only describe as from a video game or a raptor from the jurassic park movies. I have videos of the sound, although they do it no justice. The dealership couldn't reproduce the sound. It happens when it wants. No warning lamps come on. It feels like the car won't stop on time when this happens. The vehicle is available for inspection.

Issue often occurs applying light pressure to the brake pedal. Noticeable after starting the car when it has not been running for a while. •has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? has not been reproduced by dealer. I have taken this vehicle to two gm dealers (cerrone Chevrolet and mcgee Chevrolet) and received the same response that this is not an issue and is normal. I have stated I wanted this inspected to avoid further issues but received the same response. •has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer or insurance, but the problem is noticeable by passengers. •were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? symptoms were noticeable around 9,000 miles.

I called the dealership when my car had less than 10,000 miles complaining of the brakes squealing very loudly almost sounding like grinding I took the car in they said the brakes were just dirty they cleaned them the very next day the brakes were making the same noise I call them again they say next time I come in for oil change they will look at them I go in they say they are dirty to drive fast on the interstate and stop really fast and it will loosen the dirt. Again I call again complaining about the brakes they say they will look again this time they say they have looked to see if there is any recalls and don’t see any so they grease the brakes they said if this don’t fix it then I would say that you just have very good brakes that’s what good brakes sound like. I’m fixing to have a baby and I’m worried that this could be potentially harmful with me one of these days not being able to stop because the brakes go bad. This has been going on for over a year and the delearship also informed they have it on record everytime I have called and complained.

Brakes failed for no apparent reason around 8:00 am that morning. My friend and I was driving to my home in his 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer after many stops that morning. We was on the interstate doing 65 mph. I noticed the traffic ahead approaching and I said "cars" indicating to my friend to slow down. He said "I have no brakes!" we narrowly missed the first cars and while readjusting we came into contact with the driver side of three vehicles rolling us on our side! I broke both my arms escaping thankfully with my life. We had no idea what suddenly and unexpectedly lost brakes. Weeks afterwards I started reading about the stabilitrac and steering sensor on the 1 of many Chevrolet vehicle defect issues. Around that year and I believe was the problem. The brakes make squealing sound when coming to a stop. The dealer has acknowledged the problem and said there is nothing they can do about it and that the problem is normal. It is not normal for brakes to squeak every time the car stops.

Ive had to continueously replace the brakes axles, warped rotors . As well as needing to purchase tires for front end due to control arms malfunction. Constant replacemenf of front axle all causing rubbing, mis alignment and front end sitting inward. These replacements happen more than 3 times a year the last 3 years of ownership.

The brakes squeak and squeal at low vehicle speeds including when in reverse.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the engine fans were activated however, the engine overheated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed the engine thermostat was faulty. The thermostat was replaced, and the failure was remedied. Also, while driving the vehicle would jerk and hesitate while changing gears. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The contact was informed by the dealer that the failure was a transmission issue. No further information was available. Also, while driving 27 mph, the service brake system failure" message suddenly displayed, and the brake pedal was hard while pressed. The parking brake was activated. Moments later the message "power steering failure" displayed and the steering wheel was difficult to turn in either direction. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed that the brake master cylinder was faulty and needed to be replaced. The brake master cylinder was replaced, and the braking and steering failures were remedied. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 3,051.

The brakes squeal and squeak when in reverse and applying the brake when going forward at low speed. I have been told there is a gm service bulletin that says this is normal for the brakes to make this very loud noise. I have not seen this bulletin and have not been able to find the bulletin online. At any rate this is not normal for a car with 7600 miles to have brakes that squeal all the time. I have taken this to two different dealers and get the same answer but I do not believe it is proper to make a customer deal with this when they spend close to 30k on a car and you will not fix it because it does not cause a safety issue. Bumper-to-bumper warranty coverage should mean just that.

The abs and stability control systems crash without warning. Randomly on a trip the check engine light randomly comes on without warning and immediately my break system stops being effective. I have to put full force on the brake pedal to start breaking the vehicle and coming to a stop becomes difficult. This puts my life as well as others at risk as I would not be able to break on time. The problem immediately goes away after turning the car off and turning it back on leading me to believe it’s simply a computer problem. The service provider Chevrolet has not reproduced or confirmed the issue to my knowledge. No warning lights come on prior to the issue nor does the check engine line persist after being turned off and on again.

Was in the middle of a 3 car collision. After about 5 min engine started smoking and a fire started. Fire slowly escalated and fully engulfed the entire car.

I have had the 2021 chevy Trailblazer since may 2021, it has been 15 months, not even a year and a half off the lot and I have had wayyyy too many problems. I have has service the stabilitrak stability control system, service the antilock breaking system multiple times within the first 8-10 months. I had to get a part replaced due to that. The dealership had my vehicle literally for a month after I bought it, had an open tak report through gm due to my engine light coming on. Gm did not know why it was happening. Had 2 service engine and transmission system alerts. I have had a fuel injector and line replaced as well within the first 6 months. I have had to get the system updated 2 times also. Now August 2022 im having service battery, or starter. Have had my vehicle shut off on me at an intersection then come back on two different times. My breaks have been squealing ever since I got this vehicle. Dealership confirms everything is in good standing. I have not had a vehicle where breaks squeal when I am coming to a stop or backing out of my driveway constantly. Dealership keeps saying OH its just probably dust or dirt, spray them out and it should stop. But, it has not for about a year now! unbelievable! I am going it to trade this vehicle in. This is wayyy too much to be dealing with when you pay $30 grand on a vehicle!.

Brakes squeal when in drive. Any amount of pressure on the brakes the car shakes and a loud squeal begins. Bought the car new in may and this issue started in June. Have taken the car to the dealership since June to try and figure out the issue. Dealership states that rotors and brake pads are in perfect condition, thus the issue being the actual brake component. Dealership will not fix despite car being under warranty because there is no bulletin out for car model. I am very concerned for my safety and the safety of others when driving, especially since the dealership knows their is an issue and will not fix it.

Stabilitrak stability control service and service antilock braking sysytem 2 times since I have owned it for about 2 months.

The anti lock brakes engaging with no seasonal weather.

The brakes including brake assist stopped working. Pressing the brake pedal did little to stop the vehicle. There was recall for this same issue that was preformed by the dealership 3 weeks ago.

Brakes required extreme pressure to stop the vehicle. Accident barely avoided during rush hour traffic on busy surface road.

Breaks squeaking.

Nothing has happening yet trying to get the recalls fixed have no idea how to go about it so started here, please tell me if not allowed or where I can get the information.

I have had my SUV since 2011 have had no problems with it until about Feb. 25,2019. I had my brakes replaced ftont and back along with the rotors. A week after that I was driving on the highway come up to a red light was slowing down and when I got to 10 mph it started to paulsate and wasn't for sure if I was going to stop completely. I finally did. I took it back to my mechanic he checked the abs to see if the wheels were spinning at the same speed and they were. When I go down my driveway whick is a hill I'm not for sure if it's going to fully stop or go on out in the road, we are on a blind curve and it's rather scaring. Also I have a problem with the stablility and track light coming on and staying on, I just restart my SUV again for it to go off. It's both of the lights on the track and stablitity. My driver side seat belt is frilly on one side and getting thinner.

My window in the rear passenger side malfunctioning. . . . It would let down on it's own. This happens when my vehicle in drive and when park.

Recently bought a car that I believe they are illegally passing the inspections on. They proclaimed that fixed a major part to keep the tires on my car tie rods and cv axel. Just short time after it looked like the part was never replaced just tightened up and shortly after we had all kinds of issues with the brakes and anything that keeps the car driveing safely the brakes went out on me so I called to see what they did and why they never fixed it the berry next day they repo the car as if they are trying to hide and cover up the scams they have on people my kids are in that car daily it should be never passed the inspection we have had to pay for most of that. I believe all the cars in there lot need to be inspected by a federal agent or something I've found alot of the same complaints online about same issues and I even know other people who have bought from them all with the same issues they are fraud and you need to stop them before someone gets killed and dies from one of there faulty vehicles my issue happened and happens while driveing they also took both of the brake caliber pins that hold it in place to the point to where it came off completely I almost died guys they are bad people to buy from.

Gear shift locked into the parked position while vehicle still moving and in drive. Brake pedal also locked. My autistic son was in the vehicle with me. When you press the breaks you hear a loud clicking noise, then it continues to click the whole time you are driving. I'm not sure if this is a defect? just worrisome.

On a exit ramp (concrete) going about 30 mph when both side air bags unexpectedly deployed, brake pedal went all the way to the floor, no braking, pumping the brake corrected them and stopped the car. Brakes now seem normal. Both front seat belts are now locked. The car has no damage on the body or tires. G m has opened a case for us. Waiting their call back.

Abs always engaging at low speeds, issue cause by abs module located under vechicle, gets wet or moisture , poor gm design, poor location to pit electronics under vechicle. Alota of people online have same issue spening over 1000. 00 on new module does not correct problem per online forums.
