37 Engine Stall problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 10/01/2012

After refilling the gas tank of my 2006 300c Chrysler, it stumbls as though it is no longer getting enough fuel. There is a definite and serious loss of power, with concern for our safety as we exit the gas station and reenter traffic. There is a sense that the engine is struggling and would stall. The loss of power repeats several more times as we drive further from the gas station. This problem has presented itself almost every time we refuel and is cause for real concern for our safety. Based on advice from other 300c owners, we plan to no longer fill the tank, but stop at about the 3/4 mark. This does not seem to be a very effective solution to a genuine safety issue.

38 Engine Stall problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 07/18/2012

I filled up the gas tank and shortly after entering the highway and accelerating the engine stalled on me in the middle of traffic. It took several attempts to restart. Since then it has stalled on me every time I fill up the gas tank so I have only been filling it 3/4 full and I have no problem. I found out there was a recall for the problem (pe13-016) and called Chrysler but was told my VIN number was not covered even though it fit the exact criteria of the recall. Chrysler could not tell me why my vehicle was not covered.

40 Engine Stall problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 07/12/2011

This problem continues. The automobile now has 42000 miles and the charcoal fuel canister has been replaced. The engine stalls at various speeds, usually at low speeds after refueling. At times it will stall while sitting at a stop sign or a traffic light. It takes sever attempts to get the engine restarted. In any kind of traffic situation it becomes dangerous to operate the vehicle.

41 Engine Stall problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 10/04/2008

I purchased a brand new Chrysler 300 in July of 2006. Despite frequent oil changes, routine maintenance, my engine seized at 43,510 miles on October 4, 2008 , requiring replacement. My dealership closed and I was informed by Chrysler that warranty period ended. It was a huge blow financially but I managed to have a rebuilt engine installed at a cost of $5,000. I had oil changed every 4000 to 6000 miles but despite that my engine has failed again at 83,000 miles. The mechanic said my oil, coolant levels were fine but the 300 is notorious for this. I’m beyond belief to need a 3rd engine for a car I still owe money on. Looking online to see if others have similar problems, I found hundreds of owners on blogs, face book and other social media who had the same problem with the 2006 2. 7l 300. I can not believe a recall has not been done. Many people think the bbb in a non profit organization but they collect fees, rarely lowering rating of companies who pay them. Despite the fact Ford sells more cars , Chrysler has close to 10 times the number of complaints not resolved to owners satisfaction. 10 x! I ask the NHTSA to look into how the bbb can justify the same rating with such a huge difference in unresolved complaints. The 2006 Chrysler 300 has a engine that easily fails for a number of reasons. I have owned many cars, with far more miles and never replaced a seized engine. Now I have 2006 300, purchased brand new, that failed at 43,000 and now again at 83,000! I know how to care for my vehicle, routine maintenance requirments, but Chrysler seems to put all the blame on owners. Please do what your organization was intended and help to make sure others do not make the same mistake as me. Chrysler spends money on marketing, cool looking cars, without much concern for flaws with the engine.

42 Engine Stall problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 04/30/2008

We purchased this auto showroom new from the dealer in 2006. Although breaking was questionable, we accepted when told the system was fine and the jerking was normal. However, since April 2008 this vehicle has stalled off and on at the most unsafe times. The dealers have not been able to duplicate the problem so they will not repair it. We had a new factory engine installed ($7,000) in 2012 and guess what? this new engine has started stalling. All our work has been completed at a dealership so Chrysler can't claim that an auto shop might have done something wrong to the vehicle. After viewing all the same complaints and having it happen to my wife and I, why haven't you or Chrysler taken care of the problem? dokkkkkkkkkkkk.

43 Engine Stall problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 08/01/2006

: the contact stated the vehicle stalled while making a left turn on multiple occasions. Also, the vehicle vibrated due to carbon build up. The engine vibrated until it would stall, and always stalled while making a left turn. The service dealer determined the vehicle needed a new ignition coil and cylinder heads.
