1 Oil Pump problem of the 2007 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 01/10/2019

Engine dropped a valve seat on the intake valve of the number 4 cylinder causing it to break up inside the engine causing scratches inside the cylinder and needing engine resurfacing new cylinder head new piston new rings new gaskets in total over 3000 dollars into the rebuild and many man hours to complete after reading 300 forums this has been a common problem on them the valve seat dropped on start up after a short five minute drive I shut the vehicle off for two minutes ran to see a friend of mine knocked no one was home so I got back in the car and turned it over it cranked and tried to start then I herd this noise that didn't sound good so I immediately shut it down and had it towed and didn't try starting it again till after work was completed it cost over 3 grand and was a full engine tear down some of the cost was for parts that since the engine was removed was the ideal time to replace like the main bearings and oil pump but most the cost was directly related to the defect that caused this to happen if this would have dropped on freeway at freeway speeds that would have three that piston through the side of the motor the piston just on start up was destroyed causing the vehicle engine to seize up restricting the pistons movement to restrict it from a full revolution had there been more momentum of the crankshaft it would have snapped a rod most likely and ruptured through the side of the block causing a very unsafe situation I have had several issues with the vehicles cooling system and many others have as well this overheating problem due to the cooling system may have caused the valve seat to overheat and in return drop the valve seat but I find it hard to believe that in that five to ten minute drive this caused it to drop however previous driving and over heating issues may have set it up for future failure.

2 Oil Pump problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/01/2018

A week ago I was driving and my car stalled out and dash lights came on and the steering wheel locked up and all I could do was to let it come to a stop after trying to steer it failed. Car would not start at all, it only made a slight noise when trying to turn the ignition switch, but went totally dead. Had it towed home and checked out by a mechanic. Was told that my spark plugs were burned out and the oil pump failed, thenhad spark plugs replaced, thats when it started and stopped for good. That's when I was told about the oil pump and he tried turning the front part of the motor it would not turn, he then told me I need a motor. I've taken good care of my car and have proof. I've seen many complaints about this happening to the Chrysler 300's. I'm lucky that I didn't get hurt or in a bad wreck. Is Chrysler going to help their customers with this problem or wait till someone is seriously injured or killed. I'm just on social security and can't afford to have it repaired or replaced. I bought this car brand new, now I'm stranded and can't afford to buy a car. They need to help their customers. I was driving the car and was about to get onto the freeway. I also been having coolant leaking and car ran hot several times, couldn't find where the coolant leak was, had to check every other day and add more coolant. No coolant was on the ground under the car. Became hard to start and had me stranded on the side of the road and freeway several times and had to wait for it to cool off before checking and adding more coolant, and waited awhile longer before starting it to drive home. Chr Chrysler need to buy this car back. It's been taken care of, looks new, has no dents and no rust, inside is clean, no damage, only little wear. I'm the only owner.

3 Oil Pump problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 01/04/2010

Due to a faulty oil pump on my 2006 Chrysler 300, my engine seized resulting in a new engine to be installed. Car was regularly serviced and was not neglected. This oil pump has since been identified as a problem, recalled and all new models being built with newer model.

4 Oil Pump problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 06/20/2006

I currently own an 2005 Chrysler 300, which in turn I am now having to replace an entire engine. My car receives regular maintenance and it gave me no sign of failure. I contacted the manuf. For assistance and it was a dead end, as well as the other consumers complaint attempts. In my investigation as well as many others the oil pump for a 2. 7 is to small for the engine, therefore as the mileage comes to or exceeds 60,000ml. The engine will crash. As in my case I am not the first owner therefore I was told by the manufact. That they wouldn't grant me any assistance. Ironically, consumer engines give out at the time of there exceeded warranty.
