While driving on highway 105, vehicle ran over some road debris (piece of metal) that subsequently punctured fuel tank. Fuel tank was temporarily patched to stop leak. Fuel tank is made of high-density polyethylene plastic and is unshielded in the forward area of the tank, exactly where it was struck by the road debris.
