The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that when he engaged the brakes there was a squeaking noise. The brakes and rotors should not have worn out as soon as they have. The contact paid $346 to repair the brakes and rotors. The dealer stated that the brake failure was premature. The dealer also stated that there was no recall or warranty related to the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.
The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the brakes failed on two different occasions and had to be replaced. For the first failure at less than 10,000 miles, the rotors were replaced at the contact's expense. For the second failure, at approximately 15,000 miles, the dealer replaced the rotors at no charge. Currently, the brake pedal is vibrating and clicking whenever the brakes are applied. The speed was unknown. The current mileage was 17,900 and failure mileage was 15,000.

Brakes periodically squealed. At 18,000 miles I had them checked. The rear pads were worn and had to be replaced. I was also told that after turning the rotors, there would not be enough metal left on the next future brake job to turn them again. Also, the brakes started pulsing after rear replacement. They had to turn the front rotors to correct this problem. There is something radically wrong with the brake design on the 2005 town and country as it is very premature for pads to wear out at 18,000. To compound this problem, it is ridiculous that I will have to purchase rotors on the rear for the next brake job.
I needed brake pads at 10,000 miles and the front rotors warped at 25,000 miles. I've owned at least three vans before and didn't need any brake work till at least 40,000 miles. Is the town and country the next Chrysler line since the recall on the Chrysler Jeep and truck recall?.

: the contact stated while depressing the brake pedal at various speeds, the steering wheel vibrated. The dealership turned the rotors. The problem returned nineteen months later and the rotors were turned a second time.
Wife heard scraping noise at front brake I checked and found disc brake pad okay with a good distance to rotor but rotor melting away has groove approx 3/16 inch deep the length of the pad will have to replace rotors note checked both front and back rotors all 4 are disappearing right front worst about half way through rotor.
I am the owner of a 2005 town and country van and previously owned a 1998 t&c. Brakes and rotors just had to be replaced at 26,000 after hearing a horrible grinding noise and shuttering while braking on hills. Service said rotors were rusted and crumbling and seemed surprised- I do not live in a salty area. This failure seems to be a trend on these newer vans.
Front rotors warped at 11,862 miles during normal driving,it was so bad that the steering wheel would shudder valiantly when trying to stop. Took to dealership and they resurfaced the rotors at no charge during 12,000 mile warranty, but if it happens again after 12,000 miles a charge for labor will have to be paid. Now our van is at 21,608 miles and the rotors are warped again, because the shudder is returning again. I hope I do not have to pay every 10,000 miles to keep the brakes working properly. Could this be an engineering flaw on brake size for weight and size of vehicle?.
Recurring brake problems vehicle has 40000 miles on it and left front brake rotor has been replaced 3 times. Brake pads have been replaced 6 times. Last time rotor was replaced at 34000 miles and once again the rotor needs to be replaced. Dealers can not find any problem.

Faulty brake rotors. Warped rotors due to poor design. Dealership said that rotors were poor design and no cooling vents on rotors it's self. Van was making
squeaking noises and pulsating feeling when brake was applied. Took van to mechanic to look at rotors. Mechanic said he didn't see any problem so he cut all four rotors and said brakes were fine. Van worked fine for about two weeks. Then the squeaking and pulsating started up again. I then changed all four rotors and brake pads. Worked fine for about two months and then the problem started again in the month of December. I have owned the van for less than one year and I would like to know if there is a solution to this problem. Also compensation for parts. This is my only vehicle and I transport my three kids and wife. My main concern is their safety do to this problem. In January I checked the brakes again and found that the rear left rotor was warped and found a chunk of the original rotor had broken off. I replaced it and saved it. I would like to know what can be done about this. Two mechanics have looked at the problem and they keep informing me that the rotor are a poor design from the manufacturer.

Consumer indicated that when depressing the brakes steering wheel vibrated. Vehicle was serviced, and dealership noticed rotors were warped. The warped rotors were not covered under the vehicle's warranty.
Brake rotors have been resurfaced twice during 30,000 miles of driving.
Vehicle brake rotors were rusted inside and out. The vehicle made noise when the brakes were applied. The vehicle was taken tot he dealer where the technician determined that the rotors were rusted from the inside out and could not be cut. The technician stated that the steel used on these rotors was inferior because it was porous. The consumer requested reimbursement for the rotors.
Vehicle in service 11/02. At 12,000 miles one rotor replaced under warranty due to brake pulsation. At 15,000 miles brakes squealed when applied at slow speeds (good pads). Light brake pulsation started at 24,000 miles. Rotors turned at 33,350 miles due to heavy brake pulsation in steering wheel. At 35,787 was told both front rotors needed to be replaced as they were warped. Have owned two previous disk brake Chrysler products and had poor performance in reference to pulsating brakes that I have not had from gm or Ford products. Friends that have chrylser vehicles have same brake pulsation problem. Contacted Chrysler customer service and asked to speak to a supervisor and was denied. Chrysler complaint # 11578986. Would not assist at all in resolving issue with brakes.

2002 Chrysler t&c lx minivan need new rotors after only 15,000 miles! rotors are warped. Chrysler say not covered under thier highly advertised 7 year warranty. Noise started around 10,000 mile & has gotten worse. Brakes were squeaky since we got the van in Dec of 2001. Our 1999 t&c minivan never needed brakes pads or rotors. My 1992 Honda civic with 200,000 miles has never need new rotors.
Sudden warpage of the front disk brake rotor caused vibration of the front end and loss of steering control. Was not being driven under any load, only 1 passenger in the car. Vehicle is not used to tow trailer.
Have had front end / rotor problems reported @ 6715miles, 10,806 miles, 21,060 miles and 24,179 miles. It is unreasonablefor rotors to need to be resurfaced or replaced 4 times in less than 25,000 miles. Obviously something is defective causing them to fail. This is a major safety concern for me and my children.
The rotors had to be replaced every 4 months, when the brakes were applied the vehicle vibrated.
A squealing noise from the left and right wheels, and pulsation when applying the brakes was experienced. The front wheel bearings and rotors were replaced on 9-14-01. On 11-01-01, brought vehicle in for squealing noise in front wheels. Noise wasn't heard by tech. Told it could be abs self check. Heard noise while driving home at 30-35mph. Nov. 2, 01, brought car back. I wasn't comfortable with diagnosis given on 11-01-01. Tech. Still didn't hear noise. Vehicle was put on lift and checked, but nothing was found. I kept a log, and recorded squealing noise heard on 11-23-01, 12-4-01, 12-05-01. Brought car back for squealing noise on 12-13-01. Tech. Heard noise, and replaced 2 rivets on splash shield. I still heard the noise while driving home. Also recorded hearing noise on 12-17-01 & 12-29-01. Brought car back on 1-3-02. Quality control mngr. Went for a test drive & heard the squeeling noise (approx. 30 mph), however, when the mech. Took it out, he couldn't hear it. They suggested that I bring the car back when it consistently makes the noise. On 3-11-02, car started to make a different and very loud squeeking noise while traveling at 10-20 mph. Noise continued if I maintained speed, but once I drove 30 mph or more, noise wasn't present. Brought car in for service 3-12-02. Veh. Made 1 short squeek noise for tech. When leaving the parking area. Once on the main road, noise could not be heard, however, the squealing noise that I have continuously complained about, could be heard quite clearly by me, but not by the tech. Another tech joined us for the road test, and he could not hear the noise either. Checked veh. On lift. I was told everything looked good and tight. They advised me that the squeeling noises I'm hearing are just "normal brake noises". W hen I left, I immediately heard loud squeeking noise & ret'nd. Car. Tech. Heard noise too, & replaced rear brake pads. 3-28-02, squeeking noise returned at 15mph, & again on 3-31-02.
My mechanic informs me the inside of the front brake rotors are rusted and deeply pitted. He thought this should be reported. The outsides are ok.
