After changing brake components and bleeding system. The brake pedal continues to go to the floor. Occasionally working as if nothing is wrong . All this after bleeding system and obtaining a solid pedal. Diy videos have shown others with the same issues and no real answer as to what part to replace or if its available. The master cylinder being changed has not resolved the problem. The vehicle continues to be driven in town and highway. Stopping the van takes more time and is scary because sometime it takes several attempts at pressing and or pumping before slowing and stopping. Also when at a stop light the pedal will sometimes go all the way to floor yet still holds vehicle in the stopped position.

Brake pedal is spongy. Braking not effective. Master cylinder is leaking. Brake pads wore out at 20,000 miles.
Loss of brak power, pedal travels to floor. ; after replacing master cylinder, caliper on the left front. . Must re-bleed left front** only . Must performe this procedure every 2 weeks. . . And this is a frequent occurence on left front wheel. The only option is to replace the original abs hydraulic unit? why was this not a recall, it seems lot of owners of 2002 have had this problem. . ,it's only the left front wheel that has this problem, after bleeding, the brakes last only few weeks and same thing, brake pedal is spongy and travels to the floor. And must re-bleed left front wheel. It seems that there is a lot of very minute boubles. ## VIN passed ## Chrysler truck 2002, town & contry,2002 3. 3 l ##.

I have a 2011 Chrysler town and country. As of today I have had the vehicle under 3 years and have had to replace the alternator 3 times, 3 new batteries, the master cylinder and break booster was replaced, multiple sensors, my abs and traction control never functions correctly. This is all because of the tipm that is malfunctioning and you cant get one of these because they are back ordered. And when you call the dealer ship or Chrysler they tell you there is nothing they can do.

August 25, 2014 my father was driving his 02 Chrysler town and country 2wd 3. 3l flex. When the brake pedel started going lower and lower tell the was no brake pedel just went to the floor he made it home thank god! and he told me I started looking for leaks no leaks any were l. I changed the master cylinder, by the next day air was back in the system so iv had calipers suck air with out leaking before so I changed them still the same problem, so I looked that problem up online found tons of people with the same problem, most of the discussions ended with the people replacing the hydrolic control unit fixes the problem. Well I look online for a control unit auto stores do not have dealer shipps do not have this part mopar can not find because it dont exist no more. So now im stuck with an unsafe vehicle to drive and no replacment parts or recalls this should be a recall these veicles are unsafe to drive on the roads and there is no replacment parts. Im sure there already has been accidents from this problem and the longer they wait to recall it the more there will be and they could be deadly.

2006 towne & country. On 12/16/2010, came into the landmark Dodge & Chrysler dealership service dept. Afterwork for a routine oil change. I had a coupon which offered tire rotation and safety inspection. The next day while driving to work I noticed my car didn't seem to stop normally. The next few days it became more and more difficult to get the vehicle to stop and the safety of my family and me grew intensely. On the evening of 12/2210 driving home from the mall the vehicle would not stop. It kept moving forward even as I pumped the brake pedal to the floor. I had to drive home with flashers on at less than 10mph and then had the car towed into the dealership. Aaa driver said the van had no braking system. The car was too dangerous to drive. The dealership reported my 2006 towne & country van had oil in the brake system and the braking system had to be totally overhauled with a master cylinder, front and rear brake shoe pads, flush, and rotors due to containments. They quoted a cost of approximately $2700. 00. I refused to pay a bill for a vehicle they messed up. I had no prior problems with my brakes or braking system before the oil change on 12/16/10. I have routinely had my van serviced consistently this year and since the purchase date. I want my vehicle fixed correctly and the matter resolved expeditiously.
The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Town & Country. The contact stated that while driving at 5 mph, the brakes failed and the vehicle went through a wall in the garage. When the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership, the dealer stated that the master cylinder failed because it was leaking internally causing it to lose hydraulic pressure. The contact felt that the failure was a safety issue with the vehicle mileage being low. The current and failure mileages were approximately 30,000. Updated 07/26/10. The consumer stated her vehicle did not have any damage. It was determined the master cylinder failed. Updated 08/09/jb.

Funny that there's someone out there with same brake problem as us. Car started pulsating so we changed rotors and brakes. Rotors were warped changed brakes too even though there was a ton of brake pads left. About one month later driving down turnpike car started vibrating severely at first we thought it was the road, when we smelled burning we pulled over. Could find nothing wrong, we drove very slowly and as we went down exit brakes went to floor. Pumped brakes came back slowly, parked car for event we went to. After event checked master cylinder and it was fine had vehicle checked and it's fine now. No explanation, but there were 7 of us in car that included 4 of my grandkids, this could've been a disaster and no one would have known why because it corrected itself. Very scary! kids were very nervous had to put them and our daughter in another car. Almost missed great nieces baptism. If a member of my family were in an accident and died I might be suspicious that this could've happened to them.
The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the brakes made a grinding noise while driving 55 mph. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who replaced the front disc brake pads, front rotors, front calipers and cleaned the rear parking brake assembly. The failure continued to occur and the vehicle also began to vibrate. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that the front rotors were warped. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic who replaced the front rotors and he lubricated the calipers. While driving 55 to 65 mph, the contact noticed that the brakes began to malfunction which was 12,000 miles after they were repaired. 4,000 miles after the second brake repair, the rear brakes began to grind and the dealer stated that they needed to be adjusted. When the brake failure recurred, the mechanic installed new front brake pads, inspected the hydraulic system, cleaned and adjusted the rear brakes. The front pads and front calipers were replaced 12,000 miles after they were repaired. The mechanic resurfaced the front rotors, the cooper washers were replaced, and the brake system was also flushed. The failure continued to occur; therefore, the master cylinder was replaced and the front rotors were resurfaced. The rotors were also recently rotated which also did not correct the failure. The contact called the manufacturer who stated that there were no related recalls since the brakes were considered normal wear and tire. The failure mileage was 18,718. The current mileage was approximately 67,000. Updated 11/03/10.
: the contact stated while traveling at various speeds and depressing the brake pedal, it had to be pumped to get the vehicle to stop. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence, and then towed to the dealership. The master cylinder was replaced. Two and a half years later the problem returned and the master cylinder was replaced a second time. Updated 1/31/2007 - three days after the master cylinder was repaired , the problem recurred. The problem was found to be some type of faulty control unit. To date, 12/30/2007, there haven't been anymore problems.

: the contact stated while driving at no particular speed, the brake pedal was depressed to slow the vehicle down; however it did not slow down. The brake pedal was pumped several times to get the vehicle to slow down enough to pull the vehicle to the side of the road. It was then restarted and taken to the dealer for inspection. They replaced the calipers and the master cylinder. The vehicle has the same problems although those changes were made. The vehicle is currently at the dealership undergoing additional testing.
Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced brake failure numerous times. The most recent failure occurred while driving through an intersection at approximately 25 mph and the brakes failed to engage. The contact was able to coast the vehicle into a parking area and was able to stop buy engaging the emergency brake. The brake pad and tires were replaced at 18,000 miles, the strut was replaced at 5,000 miles, and the rotors were replaced at 28,000 miles however, the failure was not corrected. The steering wheel made a grinding noise and was hard to turn. In addition, the doors could not be unlocked automatically or manually and sometimes the doors opened independently while driving. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who inspected the vehicle and stated that the brake master cylinder exhibited oil consumption therefore, the vehicle was unsafe to drive and they could not complete the vehicle inspection. The failure mileage was 5,000 and the current mileage was 48,800. Kmj.

I had to have the tank on master cylinder replaced due to seeping of brake fluid. No obvious source of the leak was determined. It seemed to be coming from around the rubber seals where the tank attaches to the master cylinder. The first warning of the leak was the brake warning light. Upon checking the fluid it was discovered to be very low. It was refilled to the proper level. The tank area was well cleaned and dried. Within hours the tank was again wet with fluid. The level gradually decreased over the next several days as the fluid seeped out. No brake failure was observed, on loss of fluid from the tank. I had a local mechanic purchase a new tank from a dealer and put it on the car. New rubber seals were provided with the tank. Time will tell if this has fixed the problem.

Master cylinder leaked into the power brake booster which caused my entire brake system to fail. If the vehicle had been moving at the time of failure, it could have caused many fatalities. The dealer fixed it at no cost, however, I believe that this component should be investigated. The dealer was not concerned that this could have caused many fatalities.
Brake failure has occurred 4 times. 3rd master cylinder installed on 1/11/01. Currently at dealer for repair of 4th brake failure. All repairs done by david o'neal Chrysler - raleigh, nc. Car is unsafe for occupants and others on the road.
Receivedd recall letter (#96v215000) 3 weeks ago; called dealer for appointment; was informed they had no parts; called manufacturer & informed no parts also.
