Vehicle was parked with key in ignition. 2 year old child got into vehicle, turned the key one notch,and shifted to reverse and vehicle moved. Brake was not applied. Vehicle hit 2 parked vehicles, child was not injured. Damage to vehicle was $3800. 00.

Consumer can take the vehicle out of park without feet on brake, and could cause an accident. Cause unknown. Dealer notified.

Consumer states his 3 year old pulled down on the fear shift and hit another vehicle, this vehicle was not designed with the safety feature, which would allow you to first place foot on the brake before removing out of gear.

Vehicle was in park for 5 minutes, with the ignition off, and jumped out of gear going forward and then in reverse. Consumer's children were in vehicle with another adult. Vehicle rolled backwards into a main road. Consumer in vehicle managed to get to driver seat to slam on brakes. Manufacturer and dealer will be contacted. Please add the VIN# to the form.

While the vehicle was in park and running a small child was able to put vehicle in drive and was injured badly. Could change gears without starting vehicle. Consumer feels this is very unsafe. Please provide any further information.

Van was running while in park. About 2 minutes later, vehicle shifted into drive and rolled into a ditch. Please provide any further information.

My 4 year old son was in van. He was in front seat and for some reason he pulled on the column to put it in drive. The keys were not in the ignition. He is not tall enough to reach the brake pedal. Whenever he pulled the handle the van went from park to neutral and rolled appr. 60feet into the neighbors motor home. There was damage to my bumper and to the tailgate and the quarter panel. The motorhome also had fender damage. I currently have the vehicle at the bob allen dealership in danville ky. They are waiting for a Chrysler rep. To come and view the van. The dealership has said that the whole steering column is defective. All of the components are there but not working. I feel that Chrysler should repair this vehicle at their cost because I feel that this is a major safety issue.

Consumer discovered that foot does not have to be on brake to shift vehicle into gear. Consumer very concerned about safety of children in vehicle. Consumer's vehicle came w/2 built in css.

My minivan was parked (in park, shut off, keys out of ignition) in a driveway (somewhat of a steep incline) when it rolled backwards down the driveway, across the road, off a small cliff into a ditch with my 6 yr. Old child in the back seat.

Vehicle can be taken out of park without the key being in ignition. Consumer states car can also be pulled out of gear.

Whenever trying to put vehicle into gear vehicle will, without notice, accelerate even while conusmer has foot on the brake. Ak interlock system was never installed on vehicle, consumer states he can move the gear lever at any time.

Consumer is able to shift from park into drive without applying brakes.

Vehicle does not come equipped with a shift interlock mechanism. Thus,vehicle is capable of being removed from park without applying brakes or using a key. Please provide any additional information/attachments.

4 yr old was able to shift van into neutral without it running.

Vehicle was in park on an incline. Key was turned a little, and a child hit the shifter and vehicle rolled backwards, hitting a trailer.

Vehicle was placed into park so that consumer could exit vehicle. When consumer began to exit from vehicle transmission gear had slipped out of park into reverse gear, and vehicle began rolling. Dodge has not been contacted.

Consumer's son climbed inside of car. The key was in the ignition and it was turned on the on with vehicle was in park. He shifted gear into reverse and van rolled into another vehicle. There wwas damaged to the other vehicle. Consumer stated that if ignition switch on, and without applying the brakes, gears can be moved.

Transmission interlock system were not equipped on vehicle. The information is listed in owner's manual.

Our 2 1/2 year old son was able to put the car in drive without pressing on brake pedal, causing the car to move forward and crash into a telephone pole.

Vehicle was in park and shifted on its own into reverse, vehicle moved and was stopped by the garage center pillar. No one was in the car. Dealer and manufacturer contacted, attempting an investigation (still pending).

Gear shift moves out of gear if moved even if brake is not being used. The transmission was repaired but the problem still reoccure.

Consumer states that while warming up the vehicle, nine year old daughter put the vehicle in reverse and crashed the vehicle into garage door causing property damage, consumers research found that the vehicle does not have a safety feature requiring the operator to depress the brake pedal in order to shift the car from park into drive/reverse.

Child started vehicle without applying brakes. Child was able to shift gear into reverse, resulting into an accident, and causing minor injuries. Mechanic stated there was a locking mechanism that prevented gears to shift without applying brakes.

I believe the vehicle is design with the kids in mind, the case has been reported and even show on odi board with number odi id 515856. The problem is reported to Chrysler but turned it down to be an option on the vehicle which supposed to be error to the vehicles. I am making claim to recall the vehicle because of this problem. The problem is the transmission can be easly out of parking by kids. Other cars even my 1991 Toyota needs you to depress the brake before you can engage the transmition. D/ Chrysler is claiming that is stated on the manual not to leave the kid in the car. Buy this is not an excuses to put amercan kid in danger. I was advised to sell the car but I am not willing to put another kids in danger, please talk to chysler to stop putting this as option but as part of savety in the car. Why ordinary cars in other model are equiped with this safety in mind and why should we allow chrisyler to put our kids in danger because of their selfish act?. For a reminder , the problem is the ''transmission engage easly from parking even if the ignition is not on or key on the ignition. If you are reviewing this case, America kids life is in your hand. Shift gears can be moved without applying brakes. 4- year old child was able to shift gear out of park, causing vehicle to roll down driveway into garage.

Van was not started or brake depressed when the van shifted into neutral by a 3 year old boy. The van then went backwards down a driveway then across a road into woods where it stopped when it hit a tree.

Vehicle not designed with interlock system, allowing child to engage gears.
