Bought the van from cooks Volkswagen on may 7th, 2018. In the first 3 mths of me owning it I had to get 2 motor mounts and a starter put in. Then from that point it was all down hill! it has had 3 transmissions(cooks has done 2 and I took the van to thompson for them to do the third), hub assembly, welded the core support, power steering pulley and baring, struts for the truck hatch, I had to pay for out of pocket for power steering pulley and baring and one day of rental for a rental car! I have already called my lawyer and to have Chrysler/Dodge sued for selling an uninspected vehicle and filing a civil suit against your company!!!! as of may 13,2019 it is in the shop again and have another rental van after getting it back on Friday may 10, 2019 after it's 3rd transmission being installed and tried to drive it down 95 north on may 11,2019 and I got to 6th gear and it went straight into limp mode and had to take it back to thompson's to fix it!.

The contact sustained injuries to the left ankle, two torn ligaments, pain in the left leg and back, and bruises on the torso and right leg. Medical attention was required. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was taken to the airport and the contact was informed that the manufacturer would be notified to send someone to retrieve the vehicle. The VIN was unknown. Tl the contact owns a 2015 Dodge Caravan. While driving 55 mph on an interstate, the vehicle stalled without warning in the middle of traffic. The contact restarted the vehicle and described a jerking motion that occurred without warning. The contact pulled to the right side of the road and placed the vehicle in the reverse position; however, the vehicle failed to reverse. Engine is leaking oil with a potential for fire. Vehicle dies while driving causing loss of control with a crash and injury hazard. No start issues. Transmission not shifting correctly.

The van is having problems starting up it's like the starter is not getting enough fuel and my thermometer just went out one day my van would not work. I got home from work went in the house cam e back out to go to other store and the remote wouldn't work the vehicle I replaced the battery and it still didn't work so messed around with the fuse box and and after I done that it started right up I also had to bypass the tipm so that the van would start properly and not make my starter stick.

The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, garden city Jeep Chrysler Dodge ram 283 n. Franklin street, hempstead, NY 11550 where the failure could not be determined. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer where the win module, power train control module was determined to be the failed components. The vehicle was repaired, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then diagnosed that the tipm failed and needed to be repaired. The vehicle has not been repaired yet due to cost of repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, however they informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000. 2015 Dodge Caravan. Consumer writes in regards to unintended acceleration of vehicle. The consumer no longer owns the vehicle. Updated 11/24/2017.

The incident happened on a 2008 Dodge Caravan (3. 3l / 4spd) with 115,562 miles (spent its entire life in michigan). During a right-hand turn from a stop there was a loud clunking noise that occurred just after the throttle was pressed and the vehicle was immediately disabled (no more power/torque to the wheels with throttle) followed by a large plume of smoke (from under the hood and came in through the vents). The roads were dry but the weather was cold (~25�f). Upon further inspection, it was a right halfshaft barshaft that had fractured/failed and it did so without warning. There was significant corrosion that occurred under the damper that weakened the shaft and that's where the fracture took place under load. The smoke was a result of barshaft fracture - the boot tore/inboard joint came apart (with vehicle movement / throttle) and grease sprayed all over the hot engine. This occurred on a very busy city street (4 lanes) and because the halfshaft broke the vehicle no longer had park (which was only discovered after getting out of the vehicle when the vehicle started to roll backwards � had to jump in vehicle and set the parking brake). The vehicle had to be towed to the shop.

The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Caravan. While starting the vehicle, the shift lever became stuck in the park position. The contact mentioned that the instrument panel displayed that the transmission was in the reverse position, but on the shift lever the vehicle was in the park position. Once the contact exited the vehicle, it started to roll away. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the shift lever needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 52,000.

The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Caravan. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14v373000 (air bags, electrical system); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

This issue has happen several times as my family is driving along,the engine just dies for no apparent reason. This has happened several time and when the engine dies you loose all power, steering,abs assist with the brakes and it is very hard to turn. This issue ended the other day when my wife was going to school and the engine died on a off ramp on interstate 10 in mississippi. When she got it stopped it restarted but would not move in drive. When she put the van in drive it would die, she put the van in reverse and it backed up fine. Got it off the off-ramp along the side of the road called a tow service and had it towed to a local garage. The transmission had veiled related to the stalling problem that has been reported several times and was written in a news paper. This is a major problem that Dodge has with these van and is related to the failure of the transmission. This issue needs to be fixed by Dodge not the consumer. The power train warranty which was issued by Dodge as long as you are the original owner should cover this issue but Dodge says it does not. Please assist with this issue as the recall should be issued on these transmissions.

The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Caravan. While pulling out of the driveway, the contact heard a loud popping sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle failed to move forward or in reverse when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 92,000.

The car started shutting off in the middle of an off ramp or just going down a street or coming to a stop. Left me without power steering or brakes. Very scary. I have taken it into the dealer and at first they said it was a gunky throttle, but paid for it, brought it home and it died again that same day. Mechanic took it out and he said he was going 30 miles an hour and it died on him and he almost wrecked my car. No codes are showing or no check engine light, so they have not been able to figure out what is going on with it. Plus the transmission slams into my front end if I am going normal speed and come to a stop at the bottom of my hill and told them about this last year and was told that was normal for that car(I don't think so). I am at a loss and on a fixed income. Where do I go from here?.

I have read time and time again about the power train module or computer going out on the Dodge 2003 Caravans and shouldn't this be a recall by now? the van runs beautiful but will stop at any time while driving! why do we have to wait for so many people to die before it is a recall? I want my van fixed but knowing this has been and still is a problem with Dodge and they should be held accountable!.

The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Caravan. While the contact was walking towards the liftgate area of the vehicle, she was alerted that the vehicle was rolling away. The contact attempted to depress the brake pedal, but applied the accelerator pedal in error. The incident led to a crash that resulted in one fatality. The police filed a report and confirmed that the vehicle had been secured in park. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 147,000.

The vehicle was towed to a private mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the the serpentine belt needed to be replaced. The failure recurred several times. The failure mileage was 119,000 and the current mileage was 120,000.

My 2006 Dodge Caravan was bought brand new from the dealer. After 80000 miles it develop a very bad leak. I took it to mechanic number 1 who told me that the crank shaft has a manufacturing problem - to much end play has occurred and was grinding on some of the components in the engine including the oil pump. I thought he was saying that to make more money so I told him to replace the oil pump which he did. Two weeks later the problem started again. I took the van to mechanic number 2. Who told me the same problem. The crank shaft has a major problem in the 2006 Dodge Caravans. The oil drips so much and gets blown on the exhaust and burns - that might catch fire so left it with mechanic number 2. To repair this problem according to the 1st and 2nd mechanics the whole bottom part of the engine has to be replaced and perhaps the engine block as well. Since this is a major problem with the Dodge Caravan 2006 I think it will be fair for the manufacturer to take responsibility.

My van is shifting very harsh from what I think is 2-3 gear it is the 62te transmission. From what I have read up on this issue Chrysler needs to find a fix so we as consumers are not buying a lemon. . . . . . . It happens when we are leaving home and get about a tenth of a mile down our subdivision street and wham it slams into either 2nd or 3rd gear. Van is just started and cold , but also have let it warm up to see if it does the same thing, and it does!.

The contact owns a 1998 Dodge Caravan. The contact stated that while driving 10 mph, the vehicle lost power and became inoperable without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose a failure. The failure recurred frequently however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that the vehicle was no longer under warranty and offered no additional assistance. The failure mileage was 155,000 and the current mileage was 157,000.

The vehicle had been pulled out of the garage put in park, turned off but did have the key left in it. This was intended to only take a moment while we moved a lawn tractor into the garage ahead of the parking spot for the minivan. While we were busy moving the lawn tractor the minivan rolled about 30 yards away from where it had been parked. It settled on some rocks resulting in damage to the underside of the vehicle. The concerning part of this incident was that the van was still in park and turned off when it landed on the rocks. I have brought this incident to the attention of Chrysler and after their inspection of the vehicle they found "no evidence of a malfunction which would cause the vehicle to move by itself. " I am very concerned that this could happen again possibly resulting in bodily injury or damage to property.

The vehicle rolled backward and crashed into a tree. The driver was able to enter the vehicle and shifted to drive. The vehicle resumed with normal operation. A police report was filed of the incident. The vehicle was damaged but not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer for diagnosis of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,050. Kmj.

The van shut off when it was doing 60 miles per hour the van shut off like 7 times before the part died the part is power control module.

While driving, the engine just suddenly died, stopped working leaving a 1. 7 ton vehicle with no steering or brakes, it was a miracle I rolled to a stop and did not caused an accident it happened a few more times, this vehicle is a ticking time bomb, we need to file a class action lawsuit against Dodge-Chrysler, records show this happened to a lot of people quite a few times.
