Fuel Delivery Problems of Dodge Caravan

Vehicle was leaking fuel. It was discovered when the consumer smelled gas. Consumer made contact with the manufacturer, and h was told that vehicle was not included in 03e450000, 03e530000, and 00v268000.

Strong smell of gasoline inside and outside of vehicle. On occasion it has given me severe headaches and has made my husband dizzy and sick to his stomach. The smell is very strong. I have had the vehicle to the dealership (tim parker Chrysler) here in hot springs and they state they can find nothing wrong. I am very concerned there could be a fire or an explosion. This needs to be remedied immediately. If the dealership cannot identify the problem, where might I go?.

Fuel line leading to the fuel tank was broken and causing a fuel leakage while driving. Dealer and manufacturer were not notified. Feel free to provide any further information.

Consumer received a recall on the fuel line assembly. However, manufacturer and dealership do not have the part to replace the defective component.

The fuel line from the gas tank came off spraying gasloine all over the undercarriage and exhaust. Lost approximately 8 gallons of gas in a couple of miles. There is a high potential for fire should this happen again. The vehicle was inspected only a week before.

My wife was driving with the kids in the car all of a sudden the van shut off luckily she was on our street I had a friend who is a license mechanic he came over . He checked for codes in the dash but revealed none. He then looked under the van to see the gas tank had collapsed at first he thought it was from the result of hitting something. We had it towed because it wouldnt start. He put it up on the rack to see the the straps were still in tact. He said that the gas tank had just plain collapsed. He then called the dealer to ask them if there was a recall on this item they said how many miles they proceeded to say 78000 the dealer said if there was about 40000 they would cover it. My mechanic buddy also said that there was a bulletin out on this problem but not enough complaints to make it a recall. The ironic thing is the gas tank is plastic so I had to pay 940. 00 for repairs. I called daimler Chrysler and they gave me the run around!I am a little upset because my wife and kids could have been seriously hurt if the gas would have leaked out and ignited. Could you please help me.

My wife and I have had several incidents of gasoline smells inside our van over the past two years. We have brought this to the attention of Chrysler/Dodge dealers two or three times. They indicated they could not do anything about the problem as it wasn't happening when they looked at the vehicle. We have recently read an article in the December 16, 2001 issue of the detroit news and free press which indicates a serious problem. We wanted to bring it to your attention that our engine size and vehicle year were not indicated in this article. After reading this article we really do not want to drive the vehicle for risk of serious injury or death. We cannot believe daimlerchrysler has been so slow in their response to this serious problem which has went back at least two years for us. Thank you!.

My complaint is based on the iihs crash test showing gas leak which may cause fatal fire upon a 40 mph collision. Manufacturer has a recall on hold. I want it taken care of ASAP. They say your reports show no such problem. Can I have a copy of your reports regarding this and explaination of why 2 of the Dodge's tested came up witht he same negative result. Thank you.
