The contact owns a 1996 Dodge grand Caravan. The contact stated that fuel was leaking from his tank in large amounts. The vehicle was inspected by a independent mechanic and they advised him that he needed to replace the tank and the fuel pump. The vehicle has not been repaired. There is a fuel smell inside of vehicle. She took it to dealership, and mechanic told her that rollover valve in fuel tank has a problem and it needs it to be replaced.
Consumer took vehicle into dealership for safety recall #845 for fuel tank and o ring to be replaced, a few months later consumer took vehicle back to dealership and stated that fuel is leaking after filling up, and after inspection of the vehicle it was determined that the o-ring that was previously recalled was leaking due to the lock ring and /or 0-ring had not been properly installed correctly on the repair made the previous day.
