The windshield wipers start up sporadically on their own (no one turns them on - they just start wiping). This problem has gotten progressively worse. Our mechanic tells us that Dodge is aware of the problem, but can not isolate what causes it. Instead, they recommend you start with one expensive repair to see if that works, and if not, you move on to progressively more costly repairs. I believe this is a safety hazard because you never know when they will go off and it is sometimes startling when they do. You then have to take action to turn them off taking your attention away from what you are trying to do (driving!).
Windshield wipers occassionally come on by themselves (even when the wiper switch is in the off position) and run until the driver jiggles the switch a little to stop them.
Windshield wipers become inoperable in rainy weather conditions, cause unknown. Please give any further details.
The windshield wipers go on without being manually engaged. Sometimes the wipers will stay on for just a couple of swipes, but other times will just stay on. In order to get the wipers to stop, one must turn the wipers on and then off. The wipers always work though when they are turned on and turn off when turned off. There doesn't seem to be a specific time when the wipers go on by themselves. It is very random as far as I can tell.
Windshield wipers operate erratically. Whle driving they will just activate on their own, swipe across the window about two times and shut back off. Dealer has been contacted.
The windshield wiper assembly when lifted from the glass for cleaning exposes an extremely sharp edge which is not visible when the blade is down. This edge cut me deeply on the right side of my right hand while I was washing the windshield for the first time. This is not a problem when the wiper arm is down but is exposed when the arm is up as it must be to clean the entire windshield.
