Vehicle stalls intermittently in a unpredictable pattern. Vehicle restarts after stalling 7 out of 10 times. When it wont restart immediately after stalling it will take upwards of 10 minutes to achieve engine operation. I've replaced the crank position sensor, as well the cam position sensor. Vehicle continues to stall intermittently.

3 days after we bought this vehicle the fuel system went down. Replaced the fuel pump and still wants to stall and act like its clogged in the fuel lines. Its been flushed. When driving it bogs down and chugs. It wants to die and shut off while your driving the truck. The brakes only work half the time. Most of the time I can't even stop until I'm halfway through the intersection. Replaced all the sensors and still doesn't want to start and stay running. Fuel pump kicks on, but has to run extra hard to try and keep the engine running.

I have a 2000 Dodge quadcab 4. 7 piece of crap truck that I bought new. It has 59,000 miles on it and has been maintained since new with the regularly scheduled maintenance. In addition, I have replaced two of the computers which cost me about $1800 combined. For the past year or so it has been running like crap. It stalls, the idle speed fluctuates drastically. At times the idle speed will go from 500 to 2500 rpms fluctuating up and down when sitting at a red light. The people next to me must wonder what's going on with my vehicle lunging the way it does. The second computer that was replaced was done in an effort to correct this problem and it failed. Im am tired of spending money on a vehicle with so few miles for a problem that many many other Dodge owner have experienced. I feel like I was duped. My wife's Toyota camry just hit 130,000 miles and we have never had a problem with it.
We purchased a 2006 Dodge Dakota club 4x4 truck intended for our business use and personal use, in September 2006 with 15 miles on it from nebraska, we live in iowa. The first incident occurred shortly after purchase and repaired January 2007, (exact dates unavailable at this writing due to the fact the vehicle is in the shop). The brakes would grab intermittently when descending a hill causing the vehicle to shimmer and shake viciously. The vehicle was taken in and replacement parts were free. Total days lost 2. The second incident occurred on may 30, 2007. We were on vacation in WI and the vehicle wouldn'tstart. We were made to wait for a tow truck that had to drive an hour away to be able to tow us less than 15 miles. We had to rent a vehicle (car) that I was unable to use for business purposes, to return home for my spouse to be able to get to work. This meant we had to drive back with the rental to pick up the vehicle. It was 4 days with the rental. The diagnosis could not be made with the tool until the master computer system was replaced. After this was done, nothing wrong. The first time it was used after our return home, I drove less than 15 miles and it did the same thing, wouldn't start. The engine would crank but not turn over. Again, no warning lights. I called the towing service provided by daimler, I waited an hour and 45 minutes. I decided to try it again just seconds before the tow guy arrived and it started. I decided to not have it taken in for repair, the manager of the tow service reassured me, I panicked and it was a vapor lock. Oh yeah this was on June 8, 2007 just 4 days after receiving our vehicle back. I believed him. I went maybe 5 blocks, crossed over a busy highway when the whole truck shook (felt like the engine was going to fall out) and stalled, coasted over the hill to safety. We were notified the next day and he said, after driving it 5 miles, nothing happened, tried it again still being serviced.

My relatively new (4000k) 2006 quad cab Dodge Dakota keeps stalling when approaching a stop sign or red light. During one of these events, I was on a hill and approached a stop sign when my vehicle suddenly stalled. It was then it started to roll back and almost impact the car behind me. The vehicle stalled several more times in different locations and where several cars behind me started to move in anticipation of my vehicle moving and almost hit my car. Not risking a potential accident, I took the car back to the dealership repair shop. The shop stated it was the gas quality and no codes were present in the computer. It was also recommended that I should try a different gas! I then did some research on this issue (because I knew it was not the gas) and it was revealed too me that this is a significant problem in Dodge trucks. The response from the dealership is also common, with this problem (and it happened to me) that no codes came up in the computer, therefore cannot be fixed. This is a serious accident just waiting to happen.
At random, my vehicle will shut off or die causing me to loose the ability to steer. It can stall while waiting at a stop light, or turning left. Most recently it stalled while I was turning left and I almost hit a parked car since I had no steering. This has happened about 12 times. One time it happened 3 times in one day. I have brought it to the shop and they could not find anything wrong with it. Its seems to stall after I was stopped and waiting or when I decelerate.
: the contact stated the vehicle stalled without warning at various speeds, but restarted each time. The dealership determined there was a problem with the flash, but there was no repair available. Updated 10/04/06.
The contact stated the vehicle stalls while driving at any speed. There were no warning indicators prior to the stalling. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer three times who indicated the problem can not be duplicated. The dealer indicated that the manufacturer has been made aware of the problem but a remedy to the issue has not been identified. Both the dealer and the manufacturer indicated that there are other vehicles of the same year, make and model that are having the same stalling problem.
Consumer states when stopping at a light the vehicle idles low , 500 rpms, and attempts to stall. Dealer states that there is a defect.

I own a 2003 Dodge ram 1500 4x4 quad cab slt VIN 1d7-hu18n53s-188168 assembly point, warren, michigan. The truck stalled while in traffic making a 10-15 mph right turn. The second occurence was july15, 2004. Very close call here. I was in the smokey mountains camping. The six hour drive home towing my popup was nerve racking to say the least. Especially, since my 13, 6 and 3 year old were in the truck. I mentioned that the truck runs extremely rough intermittently to the dealer morgan Dodge durham north carolina on at least two occasions. I am also experiencing an intermittent shudder that seems to be coming from the transmission, also mentioned to the dealer on at least two occasions. The dealer simply said that they could not reproduce the shudder or stall. I also had a severe brake pulsation. They did replace front pads and calipers and cut rotors. They were supposed to follow up with me regarding the shudder and stall but as of this date, 7/18/2004 I have not yet receive a call back.
I have a light knocking in my engine. The first time I took it to the dealer, they stated there was something wrong with the engine, but unable to indentify the problem. I took it back again. They had it for 3 days, and said there was nothing wrong with it. They say all Dodge engines make that noise. Unknown to them, I have 2 and my other does not make the same noise. It has occasionally stalled both backing up and going forward. There is a pulling to the right even after having it aligned and balanced. It does not shift properly and won't stay in cruise control while climbing a hill. Also my oil hose was loose causing a rattling under the hood. The light showing you the gear your in did not work properly. Over all the worse vehicle I have ever owned with a hefty tag.
While driving 65 mph vehicle stalled. Consumer tried to restart vehicle, but was unable to do so. Consumer had vehicle towed to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that engine needed to be replaced due to sludge built up.

4x4 Dodge Dakota quad cab stalls periodically. Has stalled 12 times between the period 10/30/03 and 12/19/03. Dealership claims it cannot recreate. Usually occurs within a few minutes of starting. Typically has been at slow speeds (20 mph or lower), but has occurred as high as 40 mph. Typically restarts after sitting for a few minutes. Would not restart, however, after stall on 12/14/03. Currently on 5th service visit. Dealership tells me no error codes show up on the computer. I suggested installation of a CO-pilot. After lengthy wait for a CO-pilot (national backorder per Chrysler), event was recorded on CO-pilot and has been sent to Chrysler. As of yet, no word on results of CO-pilot data. I have begun arbitration process under mn lemon law to have vehicle replaced/repurchased.
Vehicle stalled when driven at 50 mph or greater. The consumer stated the problem occurred at least 4 times.
Vehicle lost power and stalled out. On five different occasions. Dealer notified.
When the truck is started and allowed to warm up for approximately 3 to 4 minutes and then put into reverse the truck dies. I have had the truck back to the dealership 4 times now. They have told me that they are unable to get the problem to replicate. I know that this is not true because I have had the truck for three months and it has died every time I have put it into reverse. The last time they called me to tell me that they could not get the truck to die so I made a trip to the dealership and replicated the problem for them. The dealership then called Chrysler and Chrysler told them to put a "CO-pilot" on the truck and hopefully that would catch the problem. I picked the truck up yesterday after they installed the CO pilot and today when I went out to start it, died six times when I put it in reverse. I took the truck back to the dealership this morning and they removed the CO pilot and said that they would send the info to Chrysler. I am hoping to get this problem fixed but as of right now I am not going to hold my breath.
The vehicle stalled while driving. The vehicle experienced the following: knocking in the suspension(4 attempts to fix), the vehicle pulled to the right, the driver door had a wind noise and water leaked, the tailgate handle was loose on the right side, the lower steering column coupled, and the upper control arm bolts were found loose.

While driving at any speed or stopping at a traffic light the vehicle would stall out. The dealership has been contacted. Please provide any additional details.
As truck pulls out (1-5min. )it slows down and backfires real loud. Doesnt stall out, but no power. When you step on the gas nothing happens it still is crawling around 5mi. This will happen about 1-3mminutes then it automatically picks up by itself and resumes speed. Happening every 2wks then every wk. Sometimes a day apart. Had CO-pilot on twice but results were o. Nothing shows on the dashboard when it happend, but the backfiring is getting louder. Called consumer around 5 times but I am right where I started.
Consumer states that while driving and with no warning vehicle will stall, and it will be hard for consumer to control the vehicle. Dealer notified.
Brakes squeal and howl, engine idels rough with a/c off in drive (wants to stall).
Pickup truck drive train binds up during 2 wheel driving. The front axle (4x4) does not allow the front wheels to disengage. Truck has been to the dealer 3 times and Dodge says this is the way they all are. At 4272 miles the front tires show significant feathering, and is stalling out when driving around corners in low gear mode (@ intersections and parking spaces). Dodge says that the front and rear axles are not limited slip but positive traction and recommends that I push in the clutch to keep from stalling. They want me to double-clutch to get through an intersection when I make left hand turns? I feel that this is a design error with safety implications.
The vehicle stalled at 30 mph.
Warm engine idle on 4. 7l engine in 2002 Dakota quad cab stumbles when idling at traffic lights. Rpm at normal idle only 500 to 550. When fluctuation occurs idle speed ranges between 450 rpms to 650 rpms. Engine vibrates due to low idle rpm and has stalled on one occasion. To prevent stall out I need to shift automatic transmission into neutral. Have been to dealer twice and was told they can't fix as no TSB has been received allowing for change to computer. This has been an ongoing problem since I bought the truck new last June. Not just date specific as requested by an incident date.
Vehicle will stall while consumer is driving. Vehicle stalls at any speed. Contacted dealer, and the dealer cannot find cause of problem.
Vehicle has a very rough idle and constantly stalls without warning while driving. The dealer has not been able to determine cause of problem. Ts.
Vehicle intermittently stalls, and may not start back up. Problem is assumed to be fuel pump. Diagnostic test had no readings. Consumer stated sometimes after sitting for an hour it may start, problem may be fuel injector, powertrain control module or automatic shutdown relay.
Vehicle experiencing shutdowns / stalling. Dealer unable to fix.
When pulling a trailer it causes vehicle to lose power/stall; vehicle been in dealer shop on three occasiones, and problem still reoccurring. Feel free to provide further details.
