The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the vehicle failed to respond with the accelerator pedal depressed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the rpm revved up however, the vehicle seemed as if it was in neutral. The contact coasted to the shoulder of the roadway, turned off and restarted the vehicle and the vehicle operated as intended. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the clutch and flywheel failed and needed to be replaced. Hillview motors (5309 u. S. 30 e, greensburg, PA 15601, (724) 858-4809) was contacted and informed of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The NHTSA campaign number: 15v542000 (power train) was referenced a possible solution to the failure however, the VIN was not available to perform a VIN search. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 57,000.

The clutch pedal began occasionally sticking, sometimes all the way in to the floor, other times halfway and made it difficult to shift. After taking it to the dealer they diagnosed the problem as a known issue with the clutch master cylinder. The issue quickly deteriorated, where it was happening all of the time. Now when I start the car with the clutch in, the safety allows me to start the car, but the car immediately begins to move as if the clutch is not depressed if started in first gear, and then I cannot shift into neutral and need to either be ready to go or shut the engine off so as not to cause an accident. There are no replacement parts available in the marketplace and this is a very dangerous situation to have the car being to move as soon as it is started and not be able to shift back into neutral. I fear there will be several accidents caused by this for anyone not fully aware when starting their car.
Clutch pedal remains depressed intermittently on start up and while driving. Their is not enough pressure in the clutch master cylinder for adequate resistance or to raise the pedal to its standard position. There has been a class action loss suit related to this exact issue on 2013-2015 Dodge Darts but my dealership appears blissfully unaware of the issue. Start case# s1406000001 appears to directly call out this issue but none of the procedures were followed when inspecting my car for clutch related issues. The technical response was "maybe your mat was caught by the clutch pedal?" shortly after leaving the dealership I was unable to shift into first and the pedal was not raising. After 3-4 attempts I was able to get it to raise high enough to disengage and allow me to shift into second, thankfully I was close enough to my home I didnt need to go beyond 2nd gear but for there to be no acknowledgement from the dealership is appalling.

" while driving the vehicle on may 22nd, 2020 the vehicle would not engage in clutch shifting and was a result of potential collision in operation of the vehicle. Therefore, result the Dodge Dart will stall, fail to accelerate and suffer from premature failure of the clutch components, including the "clutch master cylinder and reservoir hose, clutch slave cylinder, release bearing, clutch disc, pressure plate and flywheel. .
Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph, depressed the clutch to switch gears, the clutch pedal traveled all the way down to the floor and did not come back up. No warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic for a diagnostic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 112,687. Bp.
I was driving my brother to work tonight 10/22/19 at 11:50pm. I pushed the clutch pedal in to down shift because we saw a deer in front of us and it came back out. Then as soon as it came out it slowly got sucked to the floor. It is still stuck to the floor. I can pull it back but as soon I push o. It it just gets sucked back to the floor. I tried uploading a picture but it wouldn't allow me to.

Clutch pedal gets stuck close to the floor upon start up and clutch may not re-engage when up shifting. Happened on a busy city street as well as on the highway when trying to merge into the flow of traffic. This should have been a recall, as the second owner I was never notified and the time of the warranty expired although I am still under the mileage but they refuse to help me. I would have known it was not just driver error when it first happened summer of 2019 if I had been properly notified. Instead it was not until sept 27 2020 when the clutch pedal started sticking that I researched and found the info of the service bulletin. 4 dealerships had my car multiple times and none of them mentioned this either.
In the mornings when I first start the car my clutch pedal sticks down and I hqve to pull it up using my foot/hand. I have done some research and this is a well known issue for manual transmission Darts. Hundreds of people have called Chrysler abiut the issue and they refuse to do anything about it. For the people who have paid out of pocket say that it is a slave/ master cylinder issue and if nothing is done during early stages like starting your car in the morning. It does start to happen while driving down the road and does cause further damage. I feel that this is a huge saftey concern that they should fix.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that after release the clutch pedal failed to return to the normal position. The clutch pedal ceased in the depressed position. The contact placed his foot underneath the pedal and raised the clutch back to its normal position. The vehicle was taken to lafontaine Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram of saline parts store (900 w michigan Ave, saline, mi 48176, 734-460-8348) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the clutch bearing plant and slay cylinder were defective. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was included in the manufacturer x62 extended warranty campaign. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer informed the contact the clutch bearing was not included in the x62 warranty extension. Additionally, since the slay cylinder was not fractured, the repair was not covered under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 59,000.
I have a 2013 Dodge Dart aero 6 speed manual, dual dry clutch, multi air turbo. I purchased vehicle in February 2017. 4 months later I had brought my vehicle into carsense for an oil change. Meanwhile I asked them to check the brakes also due to braking issues and my ebrake was not working properly and had a mind of it's own. It worked when it wanted to, but yet everything is in "great condition" says carsence. Mind you that I had just purchased this vehicle in February and it was recently inspected in January 2017. Service dept. Inspected my brakes and gave me the current measurements of existing brake pads left. About June 2018 I was coming up to a stop sign in a 25 mph side street with light traffic. I had trouble slowing down to a complete stop. When I managed to come to a complete stop I heard a loud bang. Here my driver's side rear rotor was severely smoking and I noticed my rotor was redhot. My rotor snapped completely in half. My shifter would randomly pop out of gear or the clutch would lightly stick, smelling exhaust odor I'm now pushing 62, 000 miles and what do you know. I am coming home into my development. I'm in second gear turning onto my lane and doing maybe 10 mph well it decides to pop out of gear and accelerates, redlining second gear(I'm assuming it thinks it's in second) and all dashboard lights are flashing steering wheel it locked. Car is now doing 80 mph in a 15 mph zone. My brakes are not working at all brake pedal is harder than hard. I have no control of this vehicle!! engine finally cuts out after I removed the key from the ignition. Comes to a screeching halt. Thank god. It wont start still to this day. . Oil in turbo and up the hose. Battery plays dead along with my instrument panel and my transmission needs a computer upgrade that's not even available for the 1. 4l turbo engine. . . It needs a tcm, new master cylinder.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Dodge Dart. While driving 25 mph, the clutch pedal traveled to the floorboard. As a result, the vehicle crashed into a curb and damaged the bumper. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was taken to red bluff Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram (545 adobe rd, red bluff, CA 96080, (530) 580-8814) where it was diagnosed that the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was not sure if the manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 53,032.

The problem with the vehicle is that the clutch pedal goes straight to the floor and stays there, the only way to get it to the up position is to reach down or use your foot. The master cylinder of the brake system was below the minimum line. No brake warning light or any other warning/caution. The clutch went to the floor. The incident happened I was on a 7 lane city street during rush hour traffic I was driving and everything was normal. I was the first vehicle in line when I try to start going the clutch felt like it was slipping in first gear which is highly unusual for my vehicle because first gear has always been very touchy. . Shift to second gear in the clutch once again was slipping and the engine reved the vehicle did not accelerate properly. I was able to get it to go and I made it to the next traffic light. I was the second car from the intersection. When the light turned green I released the clutch and the gear engaged imeadiatly with the gear in first, the vehicle lurched forward and kept doing that about three times until the vehicle stalled out. Pushing in the clutch pedal did nothing it's stay stuck to the floor. In the mirror I see that the vehicle behind me almost ran into me and almost caused a huge pile up behind me because of the hesitation of my vehicle I was not able to move the vehicle out of the lane without help from a fellow citizen that was dangerous in itself. Once I got the vehicle to a safe place pushing it I checked under the hood and I see that the brake fluid reservoir on the master cylinder was empty. I check the fluids in my vehicle at least twice a week . Where did all that fluid go? I have been without my vehicle for a week or two now due to trying to figure out what to do because the car has 40, 000 miles on it so its out of warranty.
Our 2015 Dodge Dart has only 18,700 miles on it and twice in the last 10 months while driving on a freeway, the clutch pedal was depressed in order to shift gears and the pedal stuck to the floor. The first time this happened in August 2017, the master cylinder was replaced at no cost to us. It just happened again on April 28, 2018, same scenario - driving on freeway, tried to shift - and we are told the clutch kit and throw out bearing needs to be replaced and Dodge is refusing to pay for it, saying it is normal wear and tear and not covered under warranty. And because it is different parts it is not covered under warranty of work in August 2017. I have seen many complaints of similar issues and even a couple of lawsuits. Even if repaired again, I am very concerned that this could happen again and am not comfortable driving this car outside of city streets. Dodge refuses to acknowledge this is a known issue nor do they say that my car is covered under an extended warranty on the hydraulic clutch that they issued in 2016.
Before starting vehicle, clutch pedal goes straight to floor and has to be pulled back up into position. Problem occurs multiple times a week. After clutch is pumped a few times, it regains pressure and is able to be driven. Vehicle has less than 35,000 miles but is over the 5 year warranty. Extended warranty will cover it with a $100 deductible. Dealership advised that I will probably have to pay for a clutch replacement even though there is an extended warranty/ known issue on the master cylinder and hydraulic fluid leaking throughout clutch components. Also had the turbo and exhaust manifold gasket replaced at 20,000 miles after check engine light kept coming on and vehicle lost power. At one point the check engine light came on and the vehicle lost almost all power while trying to merge onto I-95 in washington DC, almost causing me to be rear ended by another vehicle. It took 4 trips to the dealership for the problem to be recreated and eventually fixed under warranty. The emergency brake stopped working at about 15,000 miles but I was told that my vehicle was not one affected by the caliper recall. Paid for caliper replacement out of pocket. Lots of problems with this car, but dealership keeps telling me they "cannot replicate the issue".
Before moving from new mexico to minnesota we had our 2013 Dodge Dart's oil change and car checked over by a Dodge authorized dealership. While driving on sd hwy 212 up a hill shifting down to 5th the clutch pedal stuck to the floor. So I forced it into 5th before it rolled down a sharp hill. (please note Dodge says there is nothing wrong but there are so many complaints). Dodge claim that clutches just go out like this with out any warning and it would not be covered. I have owned many manual cars and have never had any clutches wear out. My car only had $40,000 miles. I left the car behind in north dakota because we were moving to minnesota. They informed us it would be over a week to fix. I will have to drive back over 6hours (12 hours total trip) and pay for a new clutch that is probably just as bad. I think that the clutch going out with out warning is a big safety hazard.
The clutch pedal, when pressed, stays on the floor. This makes it impossible to shift into any gear, in any stage of driving whether it be stationary or in motion. I have been driving my car with no clutch for 5 days now, hoping that the pressure would come back(as this is not the first time this has happened <never for this long though, usually just happens for 5 minutes>the pressure has always come back, until now), which has not happened. I am going to try replacing the master/ slave cylinders and possibly flush and/or replace tranny lines, but after a little research online, this seems like a very common problem, and no good remedy to fix the issue with this exact transmission. I would normally fix it and go on about my business, but this problem is way to common for it to go unnoticed by the proper people. I feel Dodge should take some responsibility for this problem and at the very least acknowledge that there is a problem and offer their loyal customers some sort of resolution.
Clutch pedal will stick on the floor not allowing me to put the car in gear, change gears, or pull out of gear to stop without pushing through the brakes. It happens in the morning especially after sitting all night. Also, I have experienced it on the highway during a long trip while staying in gear for a few hours.
When it is hot out and I first get in vehicle after sitting overnight, when I step on clutch pedal it falls to the floor making me have to lift it up with my toe. Took it to Dodge and they said nothing it wrong with it. Now I can not park the car in gear because it will not come out of gear when I start it and the clutch sinks to the floor.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. While attempting to start the vehicle in reverse, the clutch pedal was depressed but the gear shifter failed to shift from reverse. The contact had to restart the vehicle in order to correct the failure. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000.
I got 2013 Dodge Dart 1. 4l turbo 6 speed manual and every morning when leave for work clutch pedal goes to floor and have to pump it good bit just to get it to change gears. Started car in reverse and car takes off while engine is turning over. And on highway if stay in same gear for long periods of time it will not come out gear and been to dealership 2 times for this and they say nothing wrong.
In August 2016 my clutch pedal stuck to the floor on the 405 freeway in cagoing 65mph. This causing no gear change and control over vehicle, Chrysler repaired the master cylinder under the power train warranty. (they said this wouldn't happen again and the car was safe) well the clutch did fail on the way to vegas on the freeway going 65mph again I lost control of the gears and the clutch stuck to the floor. Chrysler told me it was a worn out clutch and they wouldn't replace the parts or buy back the car under lemon law. I had an independent mechanic look at the car in glendora CA. He said it's not a worn out clutch, but the clutch has broken due to a leaking slave cylinder leaking over the components. This is a manufacturer defect. And has had various court cases against them due to this issue. The car is a so unsafe and a time bomb. I have just had a new born baby and do not want her anywhere near this car.
1) slave cylinder in transmission (manual) began failing at 12,000 miles, causing clutch pedal to lose pressure and not return to top of travel. Unable to shift into any gear. This occurred when parked overnight. Dealership replaced slave cylinder, clutch, and throw out bearing with no charge.
Clutch pedal does not return from depressed position. Clutch pedal is soft and clutch mechanism does not function properly for a few minutes of initial operation. After the initial incident this problem has become more frequent and now occurs almost daily.
This has been an ongoing-intermittent problem/issue. The hydraulic clutch system (manual trans) will lose pressure which means that the clutch pedal will go to the floor and I can't shift the transmission. At times it is only doing this first thing in the morning but will get pressure after "pumping it up" a few times. It will lose pressure after driving for a period of 15-20 minutes meaning that when coming to a stop I am unable to downshift. Once stopped, when it has lost pressure, if you leave the transmission in first gear, or reverse, it will move when the ignition key is put into the start mode when the clutch pedal is fully depressed! there have never been any fluid leaks or signs that the level has gone down. I have seen on a Dodge Dart owners website that this is a problem that others have had as well.
When I went to turn my car on, which is a manual, my clutch pedal stayed engaged and would not release and my car would not turn off. I could not turn the key to turn the car off. I had to wait a few minutes before the clutch released and I was finally able to turn my car off. When I tried again to turn my car on the clutch pedal once again stayed engaged and would not release but I was able to turn my car off the second time. And try again and again until the clutch would return after I turned the car on.
When trying to start the car the clutch pedal will get stuck down and not engage. If this happens when driving it could cause an accident.
When getting into my car in the morning or after work (any time the car has been sitting for a while), the clutch pedal goes straight to the floor and doesn't come back up. I cannot put my car into gear or even start the car. I have to pump the clutch pedal for a few minutes until I have a little pressure to even start my car. My car stalled out twice from this when entering a parking garage and I almost hit another car because of this. After driving the car for 2-3 miles the clutch seems to come back to normal pressure and I can shift fine at that point.
When trying to start the car, the clutch pedal will get stuck down and not engage intermittently. The clutch pedal drops to the floor when depressed and not returning without pumping the pedal prior to starting the engine. This is becoming common after the car is not in operation overnight.
I depressed the clutch to start the engine and when it started the car began to move even though the clutch pedal was fully depressed. I had to turn the engine off to stop the car from moving and the clutch pedal remained on the floor. After a few more attempts it started to work correctly. It now does this every time it is parked for a few hours. Very dangerous defect that needs to be recalled by Chrysler.
2013 Dart 2. 0 liter, 6 speed manual trans. Clutch pedal goes to floor with no resistance and will not disengage clutch. Pulling the pedal up with foot and pumping it restores function until the car is parked at which time, the system bleeds down again and the pedal goes to the floor without disengaging the clutch. Problem is markedly worse in hot weather. Response from Chrysler on rectification action is awaiting following inquiry by myself.
Intermittently, the clutch pedal had dropped to the floor when depressed and not returning without pumping the pedal prior to starting the engine. This was becoming common after the car was not in operation overnight but on 6-Aug-15 the while driving at highway speeds prior to exiting a limited access highway with the pedal depressed to the floor the engine did not disengage from the transmission or allow the shifter to be move out of gear. It required the pedal to be pulled up manually with the toe of my shoe and pumped before it actuated the clutch and allowed the car to stop. An accident was narrowly avoided on interstate 495 due to this failure. Chrysler was contacted regarding the service bulletin m37, transaxial slave valve defect and they said this is a listed issue for the car/engine but not for this VIN. Regardless of the bulletin's "commitment to safety" they would not cover any towing or repair.
I went to get in my car to go to work and when I started my car the clutch pedal went to the floor and would not come back up. The vehicle got stuck in first gear untill I manually bent down and pulled the clutch pedal up and turned the car off several times. When I sopke to Dodge they acted like they had never heard of this issue (which I know is not true from various forums and complaints ive seen). Now I am worried about the saftey of the car becasue if this happens while im on the road and not parked I or someone could get seriously injured. The Dodge dealer I spoke with said to fix the issue I would have to replace the master cylinder, slave cylinder, and replace the clutch. I dont feel I should have to worry about this there should be a recall issued.
Clutch pedal depressed and would not return to normal position. Pressing down on clutch pedal would not disengage the clutch from the flywheel so continued to attempt to move forward requiring foot more strongly on the brakes. This wasn't the only time, and seems to occur after the vehicle has been sitting a few hours. Its getting frequent enough that I'm going to try to trade the vehicle in. I don't trust Chrysler/Dodge products any more and their quality is going down hill with their drive by wire vehicles. For the record, 90% of my mileage is all highway and I don't "pop" the clutch to peal out at stop lights and the like. Searches of the internet are finding more and more posts with clutch and transmission problems.
I have a 2013 Dodge Dart rallye. I bought it used in January 2015. It has the 1. 4 multi air turbo with 6 spd manual transmission. My problem is just about every morning or after the car sets for a few hours when I try to start the car I push the clutch pedal in to start the car and I go to put the car in gear and it won't go in gear with my clutch pedal to the floor and the car trys to move when I try to put it in gear so I let off the clutch and it sticks half way to the floor so I have to pump it for about 2 minutes or until the car warms up just to put it in gear I did research on this and apairently alot of people with this car have been having this same problem and Chrysler wants to charge me just to take a look at it because it is out of warranty this issue really needs to be looked into.
The clutch pedal stuck to the floor preventing me from being able to shift out of gear or disengage the engine from the transmission. Because I am a mechanic I was able to avoid a crash. This is a complex issue and most consumers will freak out if they can not put there vehicle in neutral and the engine stalls from them trying to use the brakes.
