Transmission Stuck In Gear Problems of Dodge Dart

My wife returned home from a short trip here in town and is unable to place the vehicle in park. The shifter indicator is stuck in reverse. This is reminiscent of the original recall I believe in 2019 requiring a bushing on the transmission cable.

Driving along all of a sudden engine started revving up to 6000rpm car started slowing down pulled over and tried to put in neutral gear shift was stuck tried to force a few times would not move turned engine off tried to move shifter no luck could not start engine but won't start in gear called paid $400+ dollars on oct 20 for new shift cable clip fell off of shift lever on transmission thought same problem. Called Dodge dealership in key west told me they had no transmission guy to do repairs said to call planet Dodge in miami where shifter was fixed. Tried to force shifter one last time after a few knocks freed up there was a recall in September for shift repair wonder why I had to pay $400+ for repair in October when recall was issued in September thank god I had enough speed to pull off us 1 in marathon fla.

Bushing on the shift cable of the manual transmission comes loose. Car cannot be shifted. This occurred in a parking lot but could have occurred while the car was in motion. Basically, the car remains stuck in one gear. Note that there is a recall for this problem for the automatic transmission but not the manual. It is the same problem.

Recall v34, has been open on my car since April 2019. Parts are not available at the dealership. Now my car is stuck in neutral, I can't turn it off. The gear shift seems to be stuck. I can't use it and it's stuck in my parking lot.

Bushing recall April 2019. Car unable to drive, stuck in gear August 19, 2019. No parts available according to any Dodge dealers within a 50 mile radius. Unable to drive , the car is a lemon nothing more than a yard ornament. Need transportation for work, no public transportation in rural south, unacceptable from manufacture. If manufacture can't fix, they should provide free rentals until car can be fixed.

While driving and shifting through an intersection I was no longer able to shift into gear. I was stuck in gear. 2 weeks prior my parking break would not engage, as the break caliper was stuck open.

Power train recall. . . . I was backing out of my driveway into the road and the recall item for transmission. The electronic device came off and the transmission would not shift into any gear and I got stuck in the middle of the road I live on while traffic was trying to get through. My car would not go in reverse or drive. I got it pulled back into my driveway and a nice gentlemen that helped looked at my car and realized that the power train was not attached.

Transmission shift is stuck. Wouldn't go to drive, stuck in neutral. I pushed it back inti driveway. Can't put in park. Had to disconnect battery. Speedometer is not working.

At arizona snowbowl, I was pulling into a parking spot to go on a hike and shifter remained in neutral as I was trying to park, which caused me to get it towed to a Dodge dealership that is over the miles allowed on my insurance policy. Shifting stick is stuck, the car appears to be stuck in reverse but actually is stuck in neutral, the key is stuck in the ignition and car won't turn on. Day prior to this car was park all day, later in the evening it was driven for about 3-5 miles and parked without an issue. Nothing was out of the ordinary until the next day when I tried to drive it again.

I had just came home and ran into my house to grab something and immediately returned back to the car and when I started the engine and attempted to put my car into drive the light on the gear shift for neutral lit up. We need assistance with this because if they know these cars have this issue there is no way they should be telling us that this car does not qualify for the recall. Please help.

The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 66,000.

I have a 2013 Dodge Dart with 75,000 miles on it. On 7/14/17 while I was driving down a highway, the transmission unexpectedly shifted into neutral and remained in neutral, which caused a lost of control of the transmission in the middle of the highway. The vehicle is no longer able to be operated as the transmission is remained stuck in neutral. This incident could easily caused an accident, luckily I was able to navigate the vehicle of to the side of the highway.

Parked in my driveway, I started the car reversed out of the drive way and the gear shifter is now stuck in reverse, all I can do is apply my emergency brake because I can't shift the gear up or down therefore I can't remove my ignition key either. Had to have it towed to dealer.

Yesterday we were parking our vehicle in a parking lot when the shifter got stuck in neutral. We were unable to shift the car into park and were unable to turn the car off and remove the key because it was stuck in neutral. We ended up having to have the car towed to the dealership. Today the dealership told us that the cable connecting the shifter to the transmission had come loose and that from a manufacturing standpoint the cable was "too short" and likely to come loose again. They reattached the cable but recommended that the cable to replaced with a longer cable that would be less likely to come loose. The cost to replace the cable and have it reinstalled was going to be just under $800. They recommended that we contact Dodge because the car is under 4 years old and only has 26,000 miles on it and the issue is not a wear and tear issue but a manufacturing issue. Dodge denied our request to extend the warranty and to pay to have the cable replaced. We expressed our concern that it was a safety issue (because it could've happened while driving) and they said to contact dot and to recommend that there should be a recall on the part. So that is what we are doing. Thank you for your assistance.

Came up to a stop sign, drove off and went to shift into 2nd (standard transmission) and my shifter was loose. Gear is stuck in first.

The contact had to depress the clutch completely down to the floorboard to loosen the clutch, followed by aggressively pulling the gear shifter to get it out of first position. I went out in the morning to start the car and it would not go into reverse. The gear stick felt stuck and I had to have my husband come out and put the car into neutral and roll the car back so we could start it in first. This happened again one month later, only the car would not even go into first gear. We had it towed to dealer and were told we had to pay for a new clutch-it was burned out. Burned out at 18,000 miles. We paid for a new clutch, and now 4mths later, the car is doing the same thing. Problem going into reverse. Dealer can find nothing wrong with it-I am scared the clutch will burn out again-never know when this car will leave me stranded. Worst experience ever.
