The recall is transmission cable. So my car is a ticking time bomb to fail to go into park, or fail while the car is parked. I need to use e-brake when parking, park on flat surfaces, wheels facing curb. Why do I have to live like that? guess what I have a 30 degree angle of a driveway, (ill give you my address, photos to verify if you'd like) so I get to worry about it slipping out of park every night, or anywhere I go for that matter. You might think hey just park on the street. Ok I work hard to pay for a nice house and I should park on the street because there's no recall remedy? I should not have to operate my vehicle like this, it is unnecessary stress I carry around. Ive had this car since 2021 I absolutely love it, but this isnt right. If there is no transmission remedy I should get a complete new transmission. Or a dealership loaner until the remedy is available. Or one hell of a good deal on another Dart, I also like the charger. Or something. Is anything I've said in this complaint unreasonable?.

I am filing a complaint regarding my 2014 Dodge Dart involving an open recall related to the vehicle's shift cable/park system. On may 29, 2026, I pulled into a parking space and attempted to shift into reverse to straighten the vehicle. At that point, the vehicle became stuck in drive and would not shift into park, reverse, or neutral. I was unable to remove the key from the ignition, and the vehicle could not be safely operated. I had to secure the vehicle using the emergency brake and arrange for it to be towed. After contacting Dodge city of mckinney, I was advised to have the vehicle towed to the dealership for inspection. The dealership later informed me that recall v34 had been completed in 2021 before I owned the vehicle, but that there is now an open a0c recall involving the shift cable/park system. I was advised that the recall remedy and parts are not yet available the dealership inspected the vehicle and documented that the shift cable/grommet is deteriorated. They stated in writing that the vehicle is not roadworthy and provided an estimate of approximately $756. 70 to repair the condition. I was advised that I may need to pay for the repair myself and seek reimbursement later because the recall remedy is not yet available. I have opened a case with stellantis customer care and have written documentation from the dealership confirming the vehicle is not roadworthy due to the shift cable condition. My concern is that the vehicle has been deemed unsafe to drive due to a condition involving a system that is currently subject to an open safety recall, yet I am being told to pay out of pocket for repairs while the official recall remedy remains unavailable. I am requesting review of the recall status, clarification of my rights, and assistance in resolving this matter without requiring out-of-pocket payment for a potentially recall-related repair.

After starting my car and putting it in reverse the gear stopped shifting. After lifting up the cover for the knob I found that the shifter cable snapped. I called the dealership and was told about the recall. They told me to take it in and they would be able to fix it. After manually shifting my car back into drive I was able to make my way to the dealership. But not before my transmission slipped again and I had to manually pull the lever. I had to drive on a busy road not knowing if my car was going to stop and id get into a wreck. But then the dealership told me that the remedy was not finalized for the recall. Even though the interim recall was given in November. This is a safety hazard and the NHTSA must hold Dodge accountable for this recall.

The vehicle experienced a failure involving the automatic transmission gear shift cable (recall aoc 2013–2016). The gear selector indicated the vehicle was in “park,” but the transmission was not fully engaged in park due to the defective shift cable/bushing. This created a significant safety risk, as the vehicle was capable of rolling unexpectedly after being placed in park. This condition puts the driver, passengers, pedestrians, and surrounding property at risk of injury or damage, especially when parked on an incline or in populated areas. There were no clear or consistent warning indicators prior to the issue. The vehicle appeared to be safely secured, which increases the possibility of an accident or death because the driver may exit the vehicle believing it will remain stationary. This issue is consistent with a known recall involving the shift cable assembly. The defect appears to be intermittent and not always easily reproducible, but it directly impacts the vehicle’s ability to remain securely in park. At this time, the vehicle has not received a complete or reliable remedy, and the condition raises ongoing safety concerns. The component can be made available for inspection upon request. Because this defect affects a critical safety function and can lead to unintended vehicle movement, it presents a serious hazard. I am submitting this complaint to document the issue and request further investigation and resolution.
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v674000 (power train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The notice for the transmission shift cable failure was issued on oct 09, 2025. This seems to be a high risk that could cause a crash unexpectedly. I would like to issue a complaint per the recall: if the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner, please contact the NHTSA vehicle safety hotline [xxx] or tty: [xxx] or file an online complaint with NHTSA. Myself and a [xxx] and a [xxx] drive my car. I feel this is unacceptable amount of time to be driving a vehicle with such a high risk recall pending. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2015 Dodge Dart sxt with an active safety recall that currently has no available remedy. My vehicle experienced failure related to the recall issue, resulting in the vehicle becoming inoperable and requiring repair. At the time of failure, I was informed that the official recall remedy was not yet available and that the necessary part was on backorder. Because no recall remedy was available, I was forced to pay out of pocket to repair the vehicle in order to restore operability. I also incurred significant rental vehicle expenses while my car remained in the repair shop awaiting parts. I contacted stellantis/Dodge customer care multiple times requesting assistance or reimbursement related * the repair costs associated with the recall-related failure, and * rental expenses incurred while the vehicle was out of service. My requests were denied, and the matter was repeatedly categorized as an “out-of-warranty” issue despite my concern specifically involving an active safety recall with no available remedy at the time of failure. I am concerned about: * the lack of an available recall remedy, * the financial burden placed on consumers when a recall-related failure occurs before a remedy is available, * extended delays due to backordered parts, and * the absence of transportation assistance or reimbursement for affected consumers. I am requesting that this complaint be documented and reviewed as a recall-related consumer safety and financial hardship issue.

During a recent dealership visit for recall work and an oil change, a potential issue was identified involving improper fluid presence. On April 16, 2026, I brought my 2015 Dodge Dart to ewald Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram for recall work and an oil change. Upon pickup, I immediately noticed a strong burning smell. Service representative austin told me this was normal due to the recall work performed. On April 17, I began hearing new clinking noises from the engine that were not present before this visit. On April 18, an independent mechanic observed red fluid consistent with automatic transmission fluid rather than normal engine oil. I have photos and video documenting this finding. I returned to the dealership, where a second oil change was performed. I also have video showing dark oil being removed only two days after the first oil change. The dealership denied wrongdoing and stated the vehicle arrived in that condition. No warning lights or similar symptoms existed before the April 16 service visit. All symptoms began immediately afterward. Incorrect or contaminated fluid can cause inadequate lubrication of engine components, overheating, engine damage, or sudden mechanical failure while driving, creating a safety risk to myself and others. The dealership has denied responsibility and refused to provide requested service records. Due to this experience, I no longer trust the dealership to further inspect or repair my vehicle. Should any engine damage arise as a direct result of incorrect fluid used during this service visit, the dealership should be held fully responsible for all repair costs.
Transmission is failing recall part is unavailable. I was driving my car and it just stopped. It wouldn’t go forward. It wouldn’t go backwards and it said on my information screen to have my transmission serviced. .

I took the vehicle in for recall last year and it would not work within 5 months and I saw a transmission warning something about tcm or tsm. I called the dealership and the mfg and both would not pay for the tow and the car sat in my parking lot over the winter. About 4 weeks ago , I jumped the car battery and placed it into drive and within maybe 5 feet it stopped in the middle of the parking lot and I saw a warning that said something like no gear found or detected. I turned off the car and turned it back on and safely put it into reverse and quickly back into the parking spot otherwise it would have been stuck in the middle of the parking lot . I restarted the car and saw the same no gear found or detected warning message on my dash and when I put the car in drive the car would not move into any gear . The car is completely inoperable and extremely unsafe and this is due to the second recall that has no current fix. When I contacted the mfg about the two recalls last year, they said that the second recall has no fix and nothing they could do. I can not afford a tow and owe payments. I am reporting an unresolved safety recall (NHTSA campaign number: 25v-674, manufacturer recall number: a0c) for my [year/make/model]. The recall was issued on October 9, 2025, and remains listed as “remedy not yet available. ” my vehicle is now inoperable due to the defect identified in this recall, resulting in a complete loss of use. Despite the severity of this safety issue, the manufacturer has not provided a repair, interim solution, transportation assistance, or a timeline for when a remedy will be available. This represents an unreasonable delay in addressing a known safety defect, and I am being forced to go without a functioning vehicle because of it. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this matter and require the manufacturer to provide an immediate remedy or appropriate consumer relief. Please help me with this severe issue . I and my family are not safe in this car.

Transmission shift cable failure occurred on our 2016 doge Dart. The vehicle was stuck in drive and we were unable to shift the transmission to park or neutral, or to completely turn off or start the vehicle. I had to disconnect a battery to shut off the vehicle. This is part of an unrepaired manufacturer recall a0c. The vehicle was towed to a dealer for repair; however, the dealer is refusing to repair the issue or replace any parts. The tow truck driver managed to re-attach the transmission cable to force the car into neutral during towing, and the dealer is stating that everything is fine and they will let us know when a remedy will be available. This is unacceptable. There needs to be a difference between a "vehicle may experience a transmission shift cable failure" vs. The vehicle that has already experienced the failure. On top of it the dealer is charging me a fee because they evaluated the vehicle. I contacted stelantis customer service about the recall and they are basically telling me there is nothing they can do and just deal with it. Stelantis case# 95608092. This vehicle is unsafe to operate and the manufacturer or the dealer are unwilling to even attempt a repair.
My car transmission is shot, I'm requesting a recall, my car was recalled for transmission problems immediately after on market. I don't know what was all fixed , but sure wasn't fixed. When in gear the car would sometimes loose power and then rev up and the car would jerk. I replaced everything possible, I had bought a warranty extension and was continusing getting one part after another fixed, I called to report a claim after just getting a recall for the shift cable recall repair done to have my car diagnosis done again, and my warranty was up, the car has so many new parts and I love my car, I can't drive it, needs transmission rebuilt, I kept telling the warranty insurance and they ignored it. Now I can't drive it, I'm not pleased at all, I had to continue to make payments on my car for a year and couldn't drive I the transmission should have been replaced, they are responsible for my transmission. Wouldn't go in gear, would shoot off and switch gears, rev up why driving, then would have to have towed, fixed everything but the transmission which I reported non-stop, they did nothing about it, then told me, there's nothing we can do your warranty expired today. So I am requesting a recall, the transmission was recalled right after market I don't think they fixed it right to begin with, it's a shame to have a vehicle that just sits in the garage and collects dust. The manufacturer and warranty insurance are responsible for repairing my transmission so I can drive the car , I paid for!.

In October I brought my car in due to my car not correctly going into park. It almost fully gave out the time the recall started for Dodge Darts gear shifter, though there were times my car wouldn’t go into park and release the key months before. The shop ran codes that mentioned the ignition switch. They replaced the ignition switch hoping that’d fix the problem, but it didn’t. They brought it to a Dodge dealership to have it reprogrammed hoping it’d allow the switch to work. After no success they looked further into the problem and Dodge confirmed it was the gear shifting cable. When I called Dodge to have them look into it more, they let me know there’s nothing they can do and refused the attempt to fix it, saying there’s no remedy. No other codes were mentioned, other than the ignition switch that was replaced / reconfigured by Dodge. Dodge confirmed it was the gear shifter by looking at the part. Due to the shop not knowing what to do, and not being able to fix the problem I haven’t had the best experience with being able to obtain documentation. Their receptionist let me know they deleted the file on my car. Since then I’ve reached out asking for proof of documentation from Dodge, and called Dodge as well, but haven’t been given the documentation I’ve requested many times.
My 2013 Dodge Dart is subject to a shifter cable safety recall. The vehicle has been at an authorized Dodge dealership in texas since November awaiting recall repair. The dealership has confirmed the vehicle is unsafe to drive, but the repair has been delayed for several months. No reliable transportation assistance has been provided during this extended delay. This safety recall has left me without a usable vehicle for an unreasonable amount of time.
