1 Camshaft Position Sensor problem of the 2015 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 09/10/2020

Car will stall anywhere and anytime and doesn't give you enough time to pull over. Lose all power to accelerator and steering wheel. Check engine light comes on car will not shut off and will not move. If car is off it won't start often being towed. Camshaft sensor and crankshaft position sensor have been replaced 3 times within a year. Truly a safety hazard especially at highway speeds. The radio and air controls have a mind of their own after you manually shut them off they come back on or start blowing out hot air on legs.

2 Camshaft Position Sensor problem of the 2015 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 12/30/2018

Repeated system low voltage issues, vehicle stalls while driving - does not matter the speed - it has done it at 50 - 60 miles a hour rendering power brakes and steering useless. Stalls at red lights or stop signs while moving or still. It is worse during cold and rainy conditions. Vehicle will eventually start back up after about 20 minutes of being stranded. Yesterday during pouring down rain and cold it stalled at a busy intersection repeated attempts to start unsuccessful finally after about 20 minutes of blocking traffic in the intersection it finally started and I was able to move out of the intersection. Error codes read p0562 system voltage low and p0335 crankshaft position sensor a circuit. There is a recall on 2016 Dodge Journey for the crankshaft camshaft sensor wire harness but not the 2015. Best I can tell the internet is riddled with numerous Dodge Journey's with these symptoms! someone needs to investigate this issue and fix it for us! the expense that consumers are encountering is unacceptable especially since they are not resolving the issues. This is a safety hazard and the liability that Dodge will have should consumers continue to be hurt because this continued issue will be bad should class action law suit come because of this.

5 Camshaft Position Sensor problem of the 2012 Dodge Journey

Failure Date: 11/11/2015

On November 11,2015, we were traveling from home to a doctor's appointment for a surgical procedure. We were traveling on interstate 65, in heavy traffic, going around 70 mph when vehicle suddenly stalled, engine malfunction light came on, and vehicle lost all power. We were in the right lane and able to coast off the highway and avoid being hit. Vehicle would not restart and had to be towed to dealership that sold it. They were able to crank the vehicle and said there was nothing wrong. Because of safety concerns we pushed them to check further and they then said there were a couple of sensors that needed to be replaced (camshaft position sensor & crankshaft position sensor). We're in the process of replacing those. The vehicle is a family vehicle that is used regularly to transport children and other family members. There is a definite safety concern with a vehicle that would suddenly lose power, with no warning, and could lead to a serious accident. Dodge should recall until it is repaired.
