1 Engine Exhaust System problem of the 2000 Dodge RAM

Failure Date: 07/15/2003

The main problem with this 2000 Ram 2500 4 whdr cummins diesel, quad cab, truck is the Chrysler design defective front end. In my case, the trac-bar. This, in my area is a $439. 00 plus tax item, the dealer steals another $75. 00 plus taxes for installation. Two bolts hold this device in place and is only a 15 min repair. The trouble is in 30,000 km the new trac-bar has failed making it a chore to keep the truck between the lines. You dart all over in your lane depending on the pavement ruts and general pavement condition. I can see this design defect causing added stress and problems to the ball joints. This defect is a Chrysler problem and all costs to cover repairs should be covered by the manufacture and not the customer. This, and the other many, Dodge front end problems I feel is just cause for a recall order.

4 Engine Exhaust System problem of the 2002 Dodge RAM

Failure Date: 09/15/2001

The factory undercoating was put so heavy and sloppy that when the engine exhaust system heats up the undercoating drips on the exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe "flashing" causing hazardous fumes to enter the cab of the vehicle thru the air condition ducts. I requested a "material safety data sheet" for the applied undercoating from the dealership but haven't received anything to date. The fumes entering the truck are suspected carcinogens and could have long term affects.

6 Engine Exhaust System problem of the 2001 Dodge RAM

Failure Date: 12/17/2000

Excessive crankcase oil vapors entering passanger compartment caused by the improper placement of the engine open vent system. The heavy smell and vapors will burn your eyes and cause a person to become sick I feel this is a very serious health and safety issue that must be addressed. The problem has only occurred while driving at slow speeds or while stopped at signals etc. The vapors and smell will dissipate some after two to three thousand miles after each oil change but returnes after each oil change. I've been informed by dealers this is a problem but they have no rsolve at this time.

After trying to change foward oxygen sensor four times I find out I have 1995 sensors in my 1996 truck. The connectors on the 1996 sensors for the forward and aft oxygen sensors are opposite on 1995. How many other componets on this wiring harness will be affected? a 1996 forward sensor lists for $75. 00 while a 1995 sensor lists for $130. 00.

16 Engine Exhaust System problem of the 1999 Dodge RAM

When accelerating engine pings-particulary on hills at higher speeds/second time they suggested it was fuel quality and on last complaint they attempted to decarbonize engine. And suggest using fuel additive at every 3 thousand miles- also stated that this sparkplug knock would not harm engine- garden city dode mi. Was very nice and admitted that this problem has accured on other vehicles. My concern is that this is not how a new engine should perform and will bring problems down the line -especially when warrenty is gone- is this how a new erngine should perform and it seams quite evident that it will shorten the quality and life of the engine- also the knock continues and ive exhausted all available options for fuel. Regardless of the brand and still using recomended octain as scince day one (87).

17 Engine Exhaust System problem of the 2000 Dodge RAM

I had a recall for trailer hitch, (fixed) had a recall for emissions, ( computer adjustment)after that fuel mileage droped from 13. 5 to 8. 8. Took it to dealer in florida and they said they could not do anything about it. I would like to get it set back to 13 miles per gal. What can be done about this?.
