Failure Date: 11/01/2022

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed there was a rattling noise detected. There were abnormal fumes entering the vehicle. The oem and fuel warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed her the exhaust manifold bolts were broken. The contact called the local dealer who informed her there were no recalls. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 136,000.

2 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem of the 1998 Dodge RAM

Failure Date: 07/09/2003

Consumer was having problems with the intake manifold. The intake manifold ruptured which caused the oil to be sucked out of the oil pan, after the repair was made on the gasket, the bearing on the crankshaft failed, prior to the failure the consumer noticed the oil pressure gauge did not register correctly.

3 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem of the 1999 Dodge RAM

Failure Date: 11/26/2002

While driving and without warning the intake manifold cracked and caused fluid to leak. The dealer was notified. Ts the intake manifold failed, it caused severe missing. The coolant was mixed with oil. The dealer stated that if this wasn't caught early, it could have severely damaged the engine. Scc.

4 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem of the 2002 Dodge RAM

Failure Date: 10/09/2002

Left front control arm were not replaced, only the brake pads. Dealership claimed this would fix the problem. However, there was still a clanking noise at front left and right wheel area. Consumer's inspection revealed that on both sides the pivot arms were loose and had rotated several times hitting the suspension arm frame mount area and there were gouges in the frame mount. Further inspection also revealed exhaust leak on the bottom side of the muffler at the back weld or seal of the unit. Consumer planned on taking vehicle to another dealership.

Truck is burning a lot of oil. Mechanic is saying that it is an intake manifold bolt and gasket problem.

Exhaust manifold bolts fell out and cracked at the manifold. Dealer contacted.

While driving 70 mph in hot tempatures, the vehicle without prior warning, had a fire on the walls of the exhaust manifold which caused damages to the vehicle.

A fire started while pulling a trailer up hill, exhaust manifold heat melted the plastic tube that connects the clutch master cylinder to clutch slave cylinder. Consumer is very corcerned about this problem.

There is a padded material laying against exhaust pipe which has already slightly burned. Vehicle is not included in recall 97v126000 although has same defect.

Odi #768732: brake pads were replaced. However clanking noise at front left and right wheel area still existed. Inspection revealed pivot arms had rotated, making contact with the suspension arm frame mount area which caused gouges in the frame mount area. Further inspection revealed exhaust leak from bottom side of muffler.

12 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem of the 1996 Dodge RAM

While the truck was parked it caught on fire near exhaust pipe. Owner had just driven truck about 3/4 of a mile. Owner was able to put out the fire. The dealer was notified about the fire. The truck has not been repaired.
