The engine light on my truck keeps coming on. It show a vapor leak in the emissions. It is not the gas cap. Dodge needs to held accountable for the environment impact.

Vehicle stalls suddenly while traveling, with no warning, the engine light doesn't come on or anything. You have to stop and put it in park to restart (tried to restart in neutral-doesn't work). When it shuts off, there is no power steering or brakes, but luckily it usually starts up fairly quickly because it is very scary when you are on the highway. Have taken it to the Dodge dealership twice and they said "they have no idea what it is".

Recently I was driving my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 when suddenly while going over a bridge doing 60mph, the truck engine shuts down and the truck dash engine lights come on. Immediately the truck loses its power steering and brakes. It was all I could to hold it to the road and I was headed into oncoming traffic. I barely escaped with my life and now to make matters worse the dealership told me that the engine had seized up and was ruined (not to mention the 36,000 miles warranty had just expired). The cost of a new motor $7,000 not counting labor. I would also like to add that this was the second Dodge ram pick-up that did this same thing. I am filing a law-suit immediately and need help anywhere I can get it. The dealership states it will not cover the repair costs. The truck had 49,000 miles on it. . . Ruined!!!. .

I am having a few problems with my truck for the past year. 1) my truck will stall out or have a dip in the rpm's when stopping at a stop sign or stop light. 2) the big problem I have happens once every 1-2 months. I will be driving my truck and all of a sudden the check engine light will flash and the truck has no power at all. The gas pedal will be on the floor and the truck will have no response. The thing that I am worried about is if this problem happens on the freeway and I get into a big car accident. I brought the truck into 2 different Dodge dealerships and they both said the same thing. "whatever is happening isn't being copied to the computer and while our mechanics took it out for a test drive the problem didn't happen. " they said the only way they would be able to diagnose the problem is if it happened while they drove it. So they couldn't do anything fix the problem.

I own a 2004 Dodge 1500 quad cab. At about 35,000 miles when I came to a stop my truck would just die. There would be no check engine lights or anything to make you think something was wrong. I took it and had a diagnostic ran on it there would never be any code. To this date my truck is still doing the same thing. I have searched the web and found that I am not alone. Dodge knows that this problem exists. I have called to be told that they would have to have a diagnosis before they would fix the problem. That is impossible since no code will show up. Please help. This is a very dangerous situation.

2003 slt 1500 engine piston and spark plugs melt while driving 70 mph. The vehicle was towed to a service dealer on 7/16/06. The technician determined that the consumer needed a new engine. The vehicle was towed to another dealer where it has been sitting for 68 days. Vehicle was not returned to consumer until 9/16/2006. After repairs the engine light illuminated again and engine ran rough, 30764 miles. After 6 weeks the truck still wasn't fixed.

The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 quadcab lwb. While coming to a complete stop, placing the vehicle into reverse, or stopping to make a turn, the vehicle stalls without warning. The dealer performed an upgrade to the engine system to remedy the failure; however, the failure persists. The contact returned to the dealer and they stated that no further action could be done. They further stated that if the check engine light has not illuminated, there was no cause for concern. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 20,000 and current mileage was 30,000.

Seats will not recline nor flip forward. This has caused a back seat passenger to fall getting out of the 1997 Dodge ram becoming injured. Vehicle misses, stutters and engine pulses at 50 mph. Has been doing this since first onwer. Transmission rebuilt and still does it. Dealer can not find problem after spending $900. 00 on a tune-ep and diagnostics. Check engine light stays on. Doing since first owner. Dealer checks, charged hundreds of dollars and within 8 hours of use light comes back on and stays light. Occasionally it will blink then remain on. Taken to dealer again and they stated this vehicle is sensitive even a gas cap not tight will trigger the check engine light. This light remains on, what is wrong with my engine - nothing!.

Before the occurrences, my 5. 7l Ram 1500 would sputter on idle and when first put into gear, and the check engine light would come on for about 25 miles and then go back off. When the code was checked for the light, the forward passenger-side oxygen sensor was showing voltage high. I replaced the sensor, cleared the codes and everything was fine for a while. The first event happened when I was making a left turn on a small road-when I turned, the truck died. I didn't notice that the truck had died until I felt the power steering go out, and then I realized I was stuck in the middle of the road. I then had to crank the engine 5 or 6 times before it started again, and, when it did, the check engine light was back on. The same problem happened 2 more times that day. When taken to the dealer, an engine diagnostic was run, and the same code was showing up. The mechanics put about 45 miles on it trying to duplicate the problem, but were unable to. The problem stopped for about 2 weeks, and then it started sputtering again. When taken again to the dealer, 4 cylinders were showing a mis-fire, and the same oxygen sensor was showing voltage high. The mechanic informed me that the cylinders were mis-firing due to bad spark plugs (which were not due for service yet). I have changed the spark plugs, and my truck has died twice since then. This has become more than frustrating because I bought the truck used with 39,000 miles (roughly) on it. The mechanic charged me for my last visit because different codes showed up, so it was a different problem-even though the truck was in the shop for the same conditions. If some actions aren't taken, I am ready to file for lemon laws.

When brake pedal is slightly depressed it has a lot of shaking, also second time the truck is in for engine light and electronic thottle module.

2003 Dodge Ram 1500 stalls upon coming to a stop. Sporadic behavior. Dealer can't get vehicle to stall. Vehicle stalls 3 - 4 times per month. I ran a search on the internet and found many other people with the similar problem occuring on the 2003 and 2004 hemi engines in the ram and durango vehicles. The vehicle doesn't display an error or check engine light.

Dodge Ram 1500 w/5. 7 hemi stalls. This incident has occurred dozens of times, and appears to occur most frequently during no or light throttle conditions such as driving through intersections or down a long grade. Stalls have also occurred when switching from drive to reverse (in parking lots) and during the first start-up of the day if the vehicle is shifted into reverse immediately after starting. Ninety-five percent of the time, there is no warning (ie, stumbe) that the engine is experiencing a problem. We have attempted to have this problem diagnosed at many dealerships, none of whom were able to retrieve any codes. Due to our persistence and concern, two local dealerships have since refused to work on our truck. Thus far, Dodge dealers have attempted to blame this problem on a poorly connected battery and have supposedly "adjusted the throttle body blade" to allow more air into the engine during light/no throttle conditions. I am quite familiar with electronic engine controls and find this repair rather disturbing. It is not yet known if this "repair" has affected vehicle emissions. In light of pe05-027, I will be forwarding relevant paperwork and correspondence to the attention of stephen speth.

Once the vehicle started, it took 5 minutes for the power to be completely functional. The check engine light illuminated previously when the vehicle lost power. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however the problem can not be duplicated.

Vehicle just died no warning no check engine lights oil pressure gauge normal, and now I have a blown engine. I was told there was some sludge in the engine due to lack of regular oil changes. The oil was changed every three to five thousnd miles. Still has extended warranty coverage that the dealer where it was towed to will not honor.

Without warning driving on interstate highway, suddenly engine light came on and truck died. Pulled immediately to side of road when there was a loud bang. Had truck towed and had to have entire motor replaced.

I own a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5. 2 liter engine. The engine oil light would flicker when stopped at a stop sign in drive. I took it to the Dodge dealership and they said that the engine would have to be replaced due to the wear. I have used mobile 1 synthetic oil since the breakin oil and never let the oil in the vehicle over 4,000 miles. Each time the oil filter was also changed. The vehicle has 106,000 miles on it and the engine replacement is costing me $4. 700. I've been told that the 5. 2 liter engine does not handle synthetic oil well. The oil does not return to the oil pan fast enough to keep the bottom of the engine lubricated. I find this hard to believe but I've never wore out an engine before. My question is how can an engine wear out when it was taken such good care of? I've had several other failures of this vehicle dealing with u-joints, steering shaft, failed fuel pump, and an unstable suspension requiring a $500 piston assembly to repair but the repair did nothing to help.

Vehicle was running rough, engine check light came on. Mechanic replaced one of the fuel injectors. Also, said engine head was most likely cracked.

The check engine light appear on the dasboard without prior warning. The dealership is aware of the problem. Speed sensor was on recall but the recall did not cover the consumer's vehicle.
