6 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2014 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 01/17/2015

After pulling into my drive way with my adult son in the passenger seat I was rolling up to the garage with my foot on the brake pedal slowing down the truck. I stopped the truck completely, by pushing on the brake pedal harder, about 5 feet from the house. I reached down to rotate the shift dial to park, "p". After turning to "p" the truck engine started revving and the truck lurched forward, after initially being startled I looked down and saw the shift dial was at "p" and the engine was still revving. The truck then struck the corner of the house while I was almost standing up on the brake pedal trying to get it to stop. I turned the shift dial to reverse and back to park and the truck stopped revving and moving. Then I backed away from the house. Being a retired police detective the first thing I did was to check to see if the factory floor mat had dislodged and jammed into the pedals but it was properly hooked in place. After getting the trucks body damage repaired I had it towed to the dealer but they could find nothing wrong with the truck. I did notice that when I picked the truck up from the dealer there was a clicking sound under the dash when I rotated the shift dial from "r" to "p" that I do not recall hearing before. No clicking is heard when changing between any other gears.

8 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2002 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 04/22/2010

Was driving truck from store when I started hearing a loud tapping noise coming from my engine. I took it to mechanic and was told that the valve seats had dropped. I was told that this was a common problem with Dodge Ram 1500 trucks with 4. 7 l engines. I went to Dodge dealership before going to mechanic and they told me my problem was that I had not changed my oil . I changed my oil every 5,000 miles on my own because everytime I would take my truck to the dealership to get oil changed they would charge me a couple of hundred dollars for other services. They would tell me that if I didn't get these other services preformed that it would void out my warranty. Now I am stuck with a truck with 116,500 miles and I have to replace an expense motor.

9 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2008 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 02/18/2010

I bought a 2008 Dodge 1500 st quad cab pickup truck new in November of 2008. In February of 2010 cranked my truck one morning an the truck made a loud tapping noise on the passenger, then stopped. I contacted the Dodge dealership and explained what happened. Because it was out of warranty I had to make arrangement for a loaner. I brought the truck in on 07/19/2008 at 10:00 a. M. And they called me and said they completed the work which included removing the cam shaft and installing a new one and the rack lifters on the passenger side. The truck has 57,000 miles and oil is changed every 4,200 miles. There was no explanation to why this happen but I am very disappointed and truly dissatisfied with the run around I received. My driver door is another problem which occur two weeks after I received the truck. They adjusted the doors 4 times and now they are saying because of the mileage that is out of warranty I would have to file a compliant like I did with the lifters to Dodge corp for approval. I will never by another Dodge after this.
