Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 mph, and there was a grinding sound present had then coasted over to the emergency lane. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact exited the vehicle and noticed that unknown rear end fluids were leaking. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic for a diagnosis of the failure and they stated that the there was differential oil in the rear end and the rear end and drive shaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle had been repaired. The contact stated when the vehicle was started,there was a loud noise present. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a diagnosis and they stated that the crank shaft was bent and wobbling,there fore,the motor needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure and the the VIN had not been included in any recalls. The approximately failure mileage was 61,000. Gb.

2 Engine Grinding Noise problem of the 2000 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 11/05/2003

While driving at 55 mph, the vehicle made a grinding noise and stalled. Other than the grinding noise, there was no other indication that there was a problem with the vehicle. The manufacturer and the dealer are aware of the problem.
