My Dodge Ram 1500 with a hemi engine has stalled numerous times while slowing down to make a turn at an intersection. When the engine drops down to about 1200 rpm, it just quits without warning, killing the power brakes and power steering mechanism in manual. This truck is over 6000 pounds, adrift, half way through an intersection. Twice I have nearly run over a small vehicle stopped at the intersection. Yesterday I went off the road. Someone will be hurt in one of these instances. I have read numerous posts on this engine problem. Dodge needs to recall this truck and fix this problem.

2005 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab 4. 7ll engine stalls randomly dealership refuses to acknowledge a problem because they cant replicate the issue. The engine also has poor oil circulation and an extreme sludging issue to my understanding this causes the truck to shut off as well and should be investigated.

2004 Ram 1500 quad cab 5. 7l hemi. Engine suddenly stalls when it reaches temperature if the vehicle is decelerating (stop or turn). The engine appears to fail to switch correctly from high to low idle and goes right to zero. This results in immediate loss of steering and significant safety hazard. This has continued to occur more frequently with time and by the online descriptions is getting to be fairly common.

Braking on the highway led to engine stall and full loss of power to vehicle. Vehicle stalled in left lane and nearly caused a crash. Also, rack and pinion steering began to fail at 50,000 miles. Replaced at 54,000.

When making a turn at slower speed <35mph, the engine may stall. Extremely dangerous when turning left in front of normal oncoming traffic and engine stalls, power steering goes out and you are left powerless in front of oncoming traffic.

I have a 2004 Dodge ram with the 5. 7 hemi motor. The engine stalls and dies for no reason when I am slowing down and preparing to turn.

Engine stalling: initially it started off as a shutter when the vehicle turned. This was reported but consequently no action was taken because the mechanic could not feel it for himself. Several complaints later, the mechanic finally felt it and ordered a part(throttle body). That was done but the problem still remained. A little after the part was replaced, the engine started to stall when we would turn. Reported that to the dealer but again, nothing was done because the mechanic said the vehicle was fine. Now, they ordered a power steering pump that was finally replaced after going in several times and it coming in defective (time ended up being several months). The power steering pump has now been replaced but the engine is having trouble starting (takes about 5-6 attempts) and is stalling now more than ever. It stalls after we turn while driving at a speed no more than 20mph. Now our warranty is over as a consequence and Dodge is not wanting to fix the problem even though we reported this prior to our warranty expiring.

In December of 2006, I was traveling up a hill (a fairly steep grade) at about 30 - 35 mph when the engine just stalled for no apparent reason just as I was about to come left around a bend. The engine restarted and has not stalled since.

The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis however, the dealer was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 2,500.

The contact states when the vehicle is at an idle the engine stalls and suddenly dies. This problem is intermittent in nature and is most common in cold temperatures. He has not taken the vehicle to a dealer for inspection of the problem. He has cleaned the throttle body and replaced the temperature sensor. These repairs have not corrected the problem. No further repairs have been made.

My Dodge Ram 1500 truck with a 4. 7 engine has stalled a couple of time right after I start for the first time in a day and drive to a stop sometime very soon after I start it. The engine has a dip in rpms, and then tries to lurch forward when I'm on the brake, and then stalls. I start it back up and it's fine. It's happened about 5-10 times since I bought it back in April 05. The dealer had no clue what was wrong, they tried keeping it for a week and weren't able to reproduce the problem.

Engine stalling, engine stalls in all driving conditions. Pcm has been updated with new code and still occurs. Several components replaced and still engine stalls. Dodge service department recommended higher octane fuel and the engine still stalls. We have made a total of ten repair attempts and the engine still stalls on average one to two times per week. I have talked with timberline Dodge located in portland or about a problem I have been experiencing with the engine suddenly stalling for no reason. All that the dealership did was add me to a list of over 30 other can owners with the same problem. Today I was nearly in an accient as the result of the engine quitting without notice. I was entering a busy parking list when I was suddenly confronted with a steering wheel that would not turn and brakes that were ineffective. I have researched further and there appears to be a substantial number of vehicle owners with the same problem. . I purchased the vehicle 2 months ago and have had several occurences since please help.

While driving at 20 mph engine stalled and lost complete power. The vehicle stalled while making left or right turns at low speed, and while coming to stop(s) both up or down hill at low speeds. Dodge say they are aware of problem, but can not resolve at this time.

When braking/stoping the engine will stall, dealership has verified stalling problem. Have been advised that Dodge is aware of problem and an update to software is under development. Dodge does not know the release date of software.

The contact immediately took the vehicle to the dealer and they performed a diagnostic in an attempt to produce an error code. A code never appeared and the cause of the failure could not be determined. The contact took the vehicle to an independent repair shop and they were able to find similar failures in their database, but they did not make any repairs. The engine stalled while the vehicle was idling at a stop light. The dealer performed numerous updates, repaired a vacuum leak, replaced the throttle body and gasket and the vehicle still continued to stall.

Vehicle has had to be serviced for engine stalling six times. The cause of the problem is still undetermined.
