Started hearing a roaring noise from front end of truck, vibration in steering wheel and jerking when making right turns. Replaced hub bearing assy and noise quit. Dodge recalled the 2006 model but not the 2005 which uses the same part. Called Dodge and all they told me was there was not recall on that vehicle. I said I know, that is the problem. Fixed at my own expense. . . Feel part was defective.

6 Frame And Members problem of the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 05/01/2009

The front passenger wheel broke off at low speed. Seems that the lower control arm (axle) just snapped in two. No other vehicles where involved, pot holes or curb. The wheel broke off pulling everything apart inside the wheel well except for the brake line. The truck landed on top of the wheel preventing it from flipping over. I spoke with Chrysler Dodge and all though admitting that the lower control arm should never break said that it wasn't a defected part because I hadn't had my vehicle serviced through the dealership . This was a very serious and dangerous problem. If it wouldn't have been for only doing 15mph when it happened it would have caused serious injury and possible death. Dodge has a known problem with faulty ball joints but don't seem to care all though this may have been a preliminary problem leading up to the axle breaking in two.

7 Frame And Members problem of the 2004 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 04/12/2009

I had just finished cutting the grass in my backyard. Being that I had grass clippings and dust all over me and my clothes I asked my wife to move the vehicles into the backyard so I could cut the frontyard. My wife is 5' 3" tall and our truck is a Dodge Ram 1500 w/ 20" rims. So for her to be able to get into the truck on either side she needs the assistance of the leverage handle or (the OH !@#$% handle) as we call it. When she proceeded to pull herself up into the seat, just before being able to seat herself behind the wheel the leverage handle came off the frame of the cab. The second I realized what happened I was on my knees by her side asking her questions to determine if she was o. K. She landed on her butt first then her backside and then the back of her head hit the ground. A friend of ours was there to hear her fall but he did not see the accident because he is blind. I asked him to get a pillow from the couch so I could place it under her head. She had to lay there on the ground for about 10 minutes to get her bearings back together. After she was able to sit upright on the ground I took pictures of everything. I started looking at and studying the construction of the leverage handle and I must say that it is a very poor design. The only thing that was anchoring this handle to the cab frame was 2 small bolts, not what I expected to see in a leverage handle that supports no leverage at all. After about 2 hours she said she had a migraine headache and her neck was hurting. I took her to the emergency room where she was given a cat scan, pain killer and muscle relaxer. The e-room doctor said she has minor head injury and cervical neck strain. The injuries she received from this accident are all minor and she is very lucky her injuries are minor. With all of the complaints, accidents, deaths and defaults I saw in the website that lead me to this complaint form, it would probably take an act of congress to get daimler Chrysler to fix my truck.

Dodge told me to buy some epoxy and that I was on my own. Mechanic cannot put back together after I had heater serviced. The posts on each side of the windshield are approx. 6" wide and restrict the drivers visability serverly. My son and I have similar truck Dodge truck models and we have had several near accidents involving pedestrians and vehicles. My most recent near collition was with a railroad locamotive at an ungated crossing. Luckly another driver alerted me to the locamotive and I saw it in time . However it was complely hidden from my view by the post . I have owned Dodge trucks for the past 23 years with over 700,000 miles of service and have always found them reliable an safe .

Rust spots in 1999 Dodge ram pickup- service advisor called it rail dust, but won't buff from paint. Owners son acknowledges rust in paint. Owners son and I talked to owner, he said tha the needs to get a manafacturer's representative in on it . Was told by owners son on Feb 8 Chrysler rep would not offer to replace truck, but have it repainted. This is unacceptable since it's a new truck with 800 miles, 212 of which was on odometer already from dealer . I need help or information because I don't want a new repainted truck. I want a replacement truck . Truck is now at dealer pending manafacture representative's decision. I didnt want to put on a lot of miles so told dealer to keep it. Help me with this problem.
