I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 extended cab and the hood unexpectedly flew up going down the highway and smashed my window and the hood is destroyed. This is the second time, very very dangerous, for me and the drivers behind me. The grill flew off and possibly damaged the cars behind and next to me. The first time it happened was a couple years ago and I was very lucky it was not a busy road and I was only going abut 35-45 mph. To correct it I had to buy a new hood, grill and all parts pertaining to the hood replacement. . . . Oh also a new windshield. Thanks Dodge!.

While driving done the road at 45 mph, hood unexpectedly opened, blocking my view of the road and causing my windshield to smash. Immediate inspection of safety latch showed that it was not working correctly due to built up rust. Windshield and hood will need to be replaced, along with saftey latch. (all damaged parts are available for now).

I have a 1996 Dodge ram the hood flew up and damaged the hood & grill and brackets. There was a recall on my hood latch, all they want to do is replace the latch and the brackets is this right, don't they have to fix the damaged parts caused by the defective part? I was never notified of the recall because I was the 2nd owner and never in there system.

Paint on the hood bubbled up and peeled off for no apparent reason I was informed by CO-worker of a proble with the clearcoat Dodge used on some of their vehicles.
Engine compartment hood insulation pad was ignited directly above the power steering pump and smoldered uncontrollably until it was extinguished.

The front grill on the hood has plastic fasteners that hold the grill onto the hood. These fastners are breaking as normal wear and tear. Dodge dealership said that this is a common defect. A potential deadly hazard considering the location of the defect.
