3 Paint problem of the 2001 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 05/09/2013

We own this 2001 Dodge Ram 1500. The problem we are faced with is that the paint of the truck has been fading every day to the point that it has spots and instead of being a black truck is a spot truck. The rust on it is incredible, underneath, around the trim of the tire panels and the overall bottom of the truck. I know we are in new hampshire and the weather does not help, but a truck this expensive should not have to look the way it does. The dashboard inside the truck has cracked to the point that we have it all together with duct tape. My husband does not drive the truck far, because he is afraid it will be a safety issue. One time just going to the trash place, the breaks went on the truck and we had to have that truck fixed. It really bothers us that the truck should last longer and the condition this truck is in it says to us "how can a vehicle do this". We own two other cars, and they are in no way shape like this truck is. He takes care of the truck as much as he can, but is there any recalls or anyone else out there that has the same issues, with the paint, rust and the interior of the truck? the truck has been debilitating since it was purchased. We are not knowledgeable but we have taken the truck to the dealer and they fix what ever is wrong with it, but there is no mention of any recalls. My humble opinion this truck should be looked at by the dealer and fixed completely. We shouldn't have to be limited to travel in the truck because we are afraid it will fall apart due to all the rust etc underneath. Any information that you can provide us will be of great help. I've attached pictures of the truck so you can see what it looks like. Thank you for your attention.

4 Paint problem of the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 05/01/2012

The front bumper on my 2009 Dodge ram trx/4/offroad is rusting it is a painted bumper not chrome I contacted the dealer who took pictures and sent them to Dodge they inturn said it is not covered. After receiving a recall notice for the rear pinion nut I decided to research recalls on my Dodge ram and found that there is a recall on the chrome bumpers for this year and feel that my bumper should be included in the recall because as it was sold to me with the trx/4/offroad package it should have more protection then the chrome bumper even thou it was painted it should of been chipguarded or a vinal covered.

6 Paint problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 06/10/2011

Truck has excessive rust over both rear fenders. Had it looked at by a couple of body shoppes and estimate to have it fixed will cost about $5,500. Rust is coming from underneath about wheel and rusting from under surface to exterior on fender. 90% of other Dodge ram trucks with the same body style as my 2003 ram all have surface rust where the paint looks bubbled. This should have been a recall with Chrysler.

10 Paint problem of the 1998 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 05/15/2004

I purchased my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 in the spring of 1998 and have been th only owner. Currently, the paint is coming off the metal on the hood and roof of the truck. The Dodge rep in the area has indicated that Dodge would pay 1/3 of the cost to fix the problem. I have done nothing to cause this problem and do not believe Dodge is standing behind their product.

14 Paint problem of the 1998 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 04/10/2000

I had my Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 for only 2 years before the paint started fading on the hood, top of cab & top of bed. Now it is 2004 and the trucks looks terriable . Embarrassing to drive. Dealership said there is nothing they can do, no recalls on paint for 1998 truck and no warranty. After you pay all that money for a truck and expected the best quality due to the price. I have spoke with several dealerships and this seems to be a common problem. I cannot afford to have it painted, considering how much it costs to replace the emblems and purchase the paint. Is there any thing that can be done about this? please help!.
