Gasoline Engine Problems of Ford Contour - part 2

When driving at any speed the vehicle vibrates and the vehicle cuts off without giving any prior warning. Also, when applying brakes they are hard and foot goes all the way to the floor. Consumer took the vehicle in for repairs three times, and the dealer had to replaced the air bag due to the fact that thiere wasn't any air in the air bag.

When traveling at any speed the vehicle cuts off without prior warning, causing loss of all power. In addition, the steering wheel shakes when traveling over 60 mph, resulting in poor steering control. Consumer has contacted the dealer, dealer unable to determine the cause. Upon slightly wet surface or possible oil driver applied brakes slightly, he lost control, hitting curb w/cause unknown, resultin gin an accident/injury.

No comment. No safety defect.

Engine piston and valve fractured under normal drivin, causing vehicle to seize without any prior warning.

Vehicle stopped abruptly while in middle of traffic, consumer sent copies of bills to dealer, but no response, consumer is requesting reimbursement.

After any oil change, with a little oil present on under-hood components, there is a strong burnt-oil smell into the passenger compartment, only when the car is stopped. I believe I have found a route whereby underhood air can be passed into the passeng.

I have previously had problems with this vehicle and have taken it more than eight different times to be service and problem still has not been resolved even after having engine replaced I am having some of the same problems. Vehicle has been taken to dealership 6+ times over the duration of ownership , car cuts off when driven in the rain , steering wheel locks and all power fails. Happens at low and high speeds . Told that Ford is aware of problem but no protocol to fix the problem . Dealer cannot fix because they dont know cause of problem as told by Ford customer service department.

Vehicle engine omits fumes.

Without warning engine check light came on causing vehicle to start to knock and make alot of noise. Prior to this incident, vehicle was taken to dealer to be checked for excessive use of oil.

Consumer states engine light illuminates at all times, it has been reset several times.

Vehicle cuts off while making turns and hesitates in heavy traffic. Vehicle has been to the dealership 5 times in the last two weeks for this problem. Dealership was not able to determine what was causing this problem. Please provide any further information.
