1 Antilock/traction Control/electronic Limited Slip Control Unit/module problem of the 2011 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 09/20/2021

Without warning or partial failure the brake pedal goes near to the floor before limited breaking function. The vehicle is not capable of emergency braking. The local dealer confirmed and diagnosed the problem as the brake hcu. There were no warnings or symptoms prior to failure. The estimated cost for repair is $1,900. The hcu component is on national back order with unknown availability. The hcu problem appears the same as experienced by Ford with prior models. See part 573 safety recall report (19v-904).
