Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the head gasket blew and the head gasket needed to be replaced. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 17v209000 (engine and engine cooling) however, the VIN was not included. The contact called the glockner south point Ford dealer located at 155 CO rd 406, south point, OH 45680, and was informed that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware fo the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 166,000.
My car had a check engine light come on when I turned it on one day. It was on the weekend so I had to wait until Monday to get diagnostics at my local dealer. The car started to run really rough and was slipping. I took it to my local Ford dealer and they told me that my head gasket was blown and leaking antifreeze everywhere. I am currently awaiting to see if the head is cracked to which I'm told is common with this issue and this car.
